I didn't even know that was a thing! But the ortho I knew just from us both rounding at Emory convinced me he would be able to tell what was wrong. Unfortunately his horrible care and poor treatment plan left me no choice but to get the MRI. He of course ordered one but with my crap insurance plan it would have cost more out of pocket to pay for their facility rather than this place. $399 for an MRI! Now you have to consider deductibles because for some, it might make sense to use a place going through insurance. But for me this was my best option. In fact in hindsight I could have saved over $200 and not even gotten that horrible medical advice and just gotten the MRI myself. It would have circumvented a lot of BS I went through. You just go online, book your appointment and show up. Awesome! It was a very clean facility. They were punctual. The girl at the front desk was awesome!! She was so sweet and helpful. She was caring and just a great person to have to make you feel comfortable. She was empathetic as well. The MRI only took 20 minutes and I was in and out. Also, they have a 1.5 tesla machine for those who are interested. So the quality is good. And the read came back the same day. Also when the ortho called me he told me the same thing that was on the report so that gave me more confidence in their radiologist. Great option for some people, not everyone but it was a wonderful choice for me and they got me in quick too!

Since that was such a high deductible and the appointments at the hospital were so parsed, I decided to search for a private facility. After research and reviews, I chose this location. My experience was exceptional from the very first call with inquiries, to appointment availability, to check-in, to the tech who was warm, and accommodating. The only reason a star from the rating is because they didn't have the newer machine that pipes in music with surround sound headsets nor did they have warm blankets. Both of which I don't mind because the cost is kept lower by omitting things like that offered at the major hospitals.. The best part is instead of $1200 to Piedmont Hospital I paid $499 and got a copy of the imaging CD for my Dr.I will definitely be using this location for my medical imaging needs in the future. I rescheduled her appointment for two days later and called the day of to pay by credit card. I got a call at close to 3 (for a 4 pm appointment) to reschedule due to a "family emergency." No other location has contrast, and I would need to wait until Monday afternoon. Knowingly having one tech in a multi-location for diagnostic imaging is not okay. Now I'm unable to go anywhere else and pay out of pocket because my money is tied up. THIS SCAN IS AN EMERGENCY TO MY FAMILY!!!! STOP CUTTING COST AND STAFF LOCATIONS PROPERLY!!!! They recently started collecting a $100 copay in advance, which apparently has nothing to do with my insurance or the expected cost of the visit. They collected the $100 copay last time, and apparently the actual copay on my insurance when it was filed was only about $18 or so. Furthermore, I had an $80 CREDIT on file with them from their previous billing system, so now they owe me $162. This has been going on since February. Sabrina, who takes care of billing, has been no help and refuses to call me back. She's always "in a meeting" when I call. It's impossible to get ahold of anyone in the office except to pay a bill or make an appointment. They all hide behind their voice-response system. Lately, they've started requiring Social Security numbers from patients. That's bad enough, but worse is that they print these numbers--all 9 digits--on receipts and other paperwork that they give to patients at their visits. This mishandling of PII is going to result in a bunch of ID theft and possible lawsuits. Whoever is running their office is doing a terrible job.
