The store is quite small with rustic cabinets overflowing with items. Making your way through the delightful clutter of objects without knocking anything over is a challenge, especially if you're me. I think my body awareness stopped developing when I was a small child, as after many years of constantly spilling and breaking things, I have had to accept that I am rather clumsy. I like to think it is endearing. Despite this great flaw on my behalf, I managed to complete a tour of the store, testing delicious smelling hand lotions and admiring cute knick knacks, without causing any destruction. While I was in the store a couple came in and proceeded to search back and forth, a bit frantic. The woman working in the shop asked if they were after anything in particular, to which they replied a present for some sort of baby occasion, christening, newborn baby, I can't remember. The lifesaving shop assistant then directed them to a smaller room off to one side of the shop, packed full of an abundance of cute baby gifts. Surprisingly you don't see Sophie (originally from France) in many local baby places. So it was nice that I didn't have to hunt her down and could get here here at Millie Jones. Sure, the place is small, but there aren't that many people in there anyway usually. It's quite strange, because in the front it has candles and all things for the elderly lady... fancy smelling candles, soaps, accessories and even clothes. If you're an investigator (not an instigator) like my Yelping self, you will walk through the confusion and head to the back... where the wall is lined with all things ankle biter. That is where I found Sophie. It is also where i've found crayons that rub off easily in the bathtub and bless... my little in-travel magnet activity books as well. I love this shop. It sells all the stuff that is kid-trendy these days you just don't find anywhere else. They are cute, they are brands like Oobi, Il Tutto (the famous nappy bags celebrities use) and Tiger Tribe. Plus they sell gorgeous infant pre-walker shoes too. They also have that free kids magazine you can grab to check out where all the fancy boutique kids markets are. Was he going to put a deadly disease to the toy??? I would think that shop keepers want to let their customers feel welcome, not find excuses to make them feel unwelcome. It wasn't like my son was tearing up the store, he simply played in the room! Are those owners/staff so petty they can't see that I go there to look at their products and BUY things??? I am completely disappointed by them. I can't believe store owners like that exist. It makes places like Bowerbird seem like heaven because she actually tries to make connections with visitors, chatting with them, welcoming my son and me, unlike this woman who's just completely rude and uninviting. Worst of all, they delete any type of negative comments on their facebook and instagram to make themselves look like angels, rather than even acknowledging what they did. I find that extremely appalling, and I need to let people know just how they are. Well, they certainly lost one very loyal customer who was all about supporting their store. It's a calm, peaceful shop that will be sure to amuse you for a while, thanks to the many packed shelves as well as things hanging off the walls and ceiling.
