Run, don't walk away unless you just need a cleaning. Dentures...No. I say NO. it was criminal how they treated my client. There are simply no words to describe the treatment and lack of care that was given to my client. There was no test to see if there was ample anesthesia. They just got to work. Supposedly all teeth were pulled. That is what was suggested and that is what they said was to happen. More on that later. He was in constant pain the whole time, sometimes literally in tears. No one seemed to notice, no one cared one bit. Afterwards he was put into a waiting room, mouth filled with gauze but the bleeding was so profound it was literally falling from his mouth. No one came to check on him, no one asked how he was doing, nothing. Finally, someone came in, took out the guaze and because there was still a great deal of bleeding, repacked it. They gave him a set of dentures to take home with him. As one would imagine, what he received were ill-fitting. He took them back and was told he wasn't healed enough and...that because some of his teeth had been missing for a while, there might be a problem with fit that they cannot address. What?!!!! They didn't notice this during the examination before the surgery. The young lady who helped my client at the end of the first appointment was very sweet - thus the one star. Now...on to later when we are trying to figure out how to get dentures that actually fit and don't feel like they will go flying out at any moment. During the follow-up visit, they realized they had forgotten to take one of the teeth out. He believes the statement was - opps, we missed one. What the heck?! So, out that one came and now, another several weeks before more work can be done. Still saying They are not sure they can give him dentures that he can eat with in public or speak with in public forums (which, by the way, is his actual job!). They say you get what you pay for so, we paid for premium care. If this was premium, God help us all!

I made an appointment with this dental office in early September for a cleaning and 6 month check…read moreup. When I arrived to the office for my 1:00 appointment, I wasn't seen until 1:45. When I was taken back into the room, they took x-rays and told me the doctor would be in to see if I had any problems. I was thinking that this was weird because they usually clean my teeth first and then do the checkup. At this point, the doctor comes in and says that everything looks good except for some bone loss around an implant. He then says they don't have a hygienist right now, but can make me an appointment for the next week or so when they get one. When I questioned him (to make sure I heard him correct) he said they only lost the hygienist in like the last week or so. Well I made my appointment like a month ago. This was really disappointing because when I made the appointment I made it clear that it was for a cleaning and check up. I feel that it was very unethical and unprofessional to do those procedures (x-ray, check-up--if you can call sticking a mirror in my mouth for all of 5 seconds a check up) without informing me up front that they did not have a hygienist. They could have called, left a voicemail, or sent out an automated text. Heck. They could have even told me when I showed up for the appointment and waited 45 minutes, but I guess they knew I would have left and they wouldn't have gotten any money off my insurance if I had done this. :(

From calling and making my appointment to sitting in the parking lot afterwards to calling and scheduling a root canal (yes yikes!), my experience has been amazing. EVERYONE has been accomdating, and nice... friendly even. They calmed my fears and stress. Dr. Duncan took the time to explain things and make sure I understood everything. He also took the time to make a personal connection with me so I didn't feel like just another person in a chair. Not only that, but I actually laughed while my hygenist was cleaning my teeth. That has NEVER happened in my life. I actually look forward to going back in October. It's unheard of! Now, lets talk finances. I do not have dental insurance currently so it was a bit expensive for my first visit. Dr. Duncan made his recommendations, and the ladies at the desk helped me figure out a way to afford it and split payments up. They didn't make me feel less of a person or embarrassed at all. I recommend Dental Health Center to anyone.
