Today 11/02/2022. I had a physical with my regular doctor. Doing the blood work and going over my medical history. I realized that seeing Dr. Burke on a regular basis has helped resolve a lot of my medical issues. I longer have issues with fibromyalgia, migraines, ibs. All of my blood work has come back with everything being within the normal range. Dr Burke in one of his classes suggested that having a thyroid test that you ask for a more in depth thyroid test instead of the standard thyroid test. That one is also normal. I am 61 years old and I don't feel like I am 61. I having been seeing Dr. Burke for about 4 years now. I believe what Dr. Burke says the body is designed to heal itself. After going to multiple chiropractors in the area and not finding a good fit a friend referred Dr. Burke to me. First his staff and office is very welcoming, Dr. Burke is very knowledgeable and tries to make the pateint knowledgeable on what he is going to accomplish. He is not a "snap and pop" type of chiropractor, he spends time with you to make sure that you fully understand everything that is going to be involved wether is standard chiropractic treatment or if you can also benefit from accupuncture or laser treatment. I initially decided to give this place a try to see if they couldn't help with some nagging discomfort resulting from a herniated disk I suffered about a year prior. I had my misgivings about chiropractors going in, and I'm sorry to say that they mostly all confirmed. While Mr. Burke is undoubtedly a friendly and personable fellow, as is his receptionist, and his office is clean and smells good, I was dismayed when he mentioned the use of numerous treatment methods like homeopathy, acupuncture, naturopathic remedies, and other such pseudoscience. All of which are, at best, placebos; more anecdote than antidote. At worst, they are considered by science-based medicine to be out right fraudulent. Let me explain what was the nail in the coffin during my visit, if I may (aside from the homeopathy and DoTerra oils). At one point during the exam, I was asked to lay down while he did a number of strength tests. These included the arms and legs. When he tested my arms, I was asked to hold my arm out and straight, and to resist his push down. I was able to resist the push. Then he placed his finger on my forehead, on a supposed "acupuncture point" and he again told me to resist his push down, and my arm fell with ease. I found this curious, so he did it again. And this is where I realized what he had actually done. On the first push, which I again could easily resist, he applied two forces; down the length of the arm, and down towards the floor. But most of the force was applied down the length of my arm, towards the shoulder. This is very easy to resist. The second push, while he pressed on my forehead, was almost completely directed down towards the floor. A much harder force to resist. I even tried the same thing on a coworker, and came up with the same results, with no need of supposed "acupuncture points." I'm quite certain that he did the same method with my legs, too. Whether this trick is pulled intentionally, or if that's just how he was educated, I can't say, but when a practitioner has to use tricks to try and prove the validity of their methods, that just proves that one needs to be skeptical. Chiropractics is, I'm being generous, at the very edge of what I would consider to be acceptable medical practice. And the science behind it is, according to my own research of various medical resources, dubious, to say the least. I tried to give Burke a chance; however, when an office throws in fake medicines and pseudoscientific jargon to confuse and coerce, I'm afraid that is where I draw the line. I, for one, will take any medical issues back to the doctors at my clinic. read more

I was over due for a Chiropractor for years and was always afraid to get started but Dr. Burke helped ease my anxiety over the issue quickly. He explained everything in great detail and allowed plenty of time for questions during our first few visits now I look forward to seeing him every week. Really disappointed. Made it half way through my second appt to discover I can't afford Dr.Burke's $3500/plan to help my back so he wouldn't treat me. No other options provided. I was told to take my paperwork with me. That was it. It would have been nice to see what he could do for me but he let me know it's all or nothing. As a physican, I guess I expected him to respond differently. I came in complaining of bad back pain and was refused service because I didn't want to sign on for 12 months. The first two months would have been $900 out of pocket for me. Most people don't have that lying around. Seems like a nice guy but should have had a little compassion and tried to work with me. I asked about doing at least 12 visits and he said no. I believe a person in his position should be approaching his profession in a manner to relieve pain and work with patients. I got the feel I was buying into a time share. Saddened by the experience. read more
