I cannot believe my good fortune in discovering LIFEWORX while walking past their street-level agency in Manhattan. I was looking for a cleaning lady/laundress as well as a house manager for a large property in Westchester. From the very second I spoke to Jennifer, in their Westport CT office, I felt comfortable in the caliber of candidates they would recommend as well as the thorough vetting process that LIFEWORX requires of any potential hire. Jennifer understood exactly what we were looking for (which is not evident with most placement agencies) and before I even finished my phone conversation, she had already sent me several candidates' bios from their large pool of applicants. Seems like a great company based in reviews, but my personal experience has me questioning their hiring process. So first I called the company to find out, if they hire home attendants that don't have a driver's license and they said yes, but the jobs that would be open to me will be limited, i said ok fine. Then, after completing the application on line they said my application was sent to the requiter and I'll receive a call in the next few days. I gave 3 references, and all 3 of ny reference are families that I have a very close relationship with. They called my references and left voice mails with no information and when I said no information I mean no company name or call back number (one of my reference is a CEO and the other a doctor) and they were both really confused about what sort of company would call and not leave any information on how to get back to them. Then they asked one of my references if I ever stole from them!! Wow, they never interviewed me or ran a background check on me, but they called all my references and asked them really weird questions. Now, when I called to check up On my application and where I was in the process, the requiter says "we cant hire you because you don't have a driver's licenses, then when I told her that I was told that i didn't need one, she then said one of my references had a discrepancies" lol, That's not true as I've said, I'm very close with all the families I've worked with and still keep in contact with them so I know that's not true, this company hiring process needs revision. read more

My experience with Lifewox has been great. They've helped me to find an excellent nanny position within 2 weeks of being with them. They were extremely thorough with their selection process. Prior to deciding to an in person interview they did a phone interview and ran a background check which I had no problem with. My recruiter Elisa was professional when we did the in person interview and also open to my questions about job placement. The day after meeting Elisa I got calls from Lifeworx's agents Barbara and Bal about jobs, something I didn't experience with the other agencies I had previously signed up with. I recently moved into a new apartment and needed a few things taken care of, including cleaning and AC installation. LifeWorx put us in touch with a handyman named Edison who was absolutely phenomenal. He was on time, worked efficiently, and even offered to fix a few other things he noticed were not working in our apartment. Our cleaning lady, Alicia, was just as great. When we moved in, the apartment was an absolute mess and Alicia took the time to scrub down the kitchen and bathrooms until it looked like an entirely new apartment. I moved back to New York City 9 or so months ago and knew I needed help. I came back to a big job with lots of travel and lots of hours. I've used different cleaning services before, but they never offered consistency. With all the moving parts on my side, I needed someone to really understand my needs and take care of everything. After some research, I went with LifeWorx. They listened to all of my needs. They presented me with 3 candidates who all seemed capable. One was into organizing, and that put her over the top in my book as I need all the help I can get there. So my part time housekeeper comes on a set couple of days each week. She knows my routine. Together we keep the household running. She takes care of dry cleaning, which is a big time saver. She lets me know when we need more supplies. Having her on a set schedule allows me to have repairs or deliveries that I normally would have had to work from home to accommodate -- which is a big deal with my schedule. She does a great job keeping everything clean. To boot, she's become a bit of a part time nanny to my 2 adorable & very friendly cats. Jeanne has been a pleasure to work with as the GM. She follows up when needed a keeps it all running smooth. I visited LifeWorx last week with my mother. I was looking for some help for my elderly mother as my sisters and I all live out of town. My youngest sister visited and met Bal a few weeks before and said he was wonderful. I have never written a review on Yelp before, but I felt compelled to do so after meeting Bal and his staff. If you're looking for help for an elderly person, you could do no better than LifeWorx. There is a genuine warmth in Bal and a sincere desire to provide the best and most apt services possible. His attitude trickles down; everyone we met was warm, engaging, competent, and obviously devoted to providing excellent care. If you live out of town and need to entrust the care of a parent to a stranger (and how scary is that!), LifeWorx is going to be your lifesaver. One more thing--it is often not an easy task to communicate with an organization in NYC. Lifeworx is different. Definately not! Expensive. Unresponsive. Impersonal. So sales-y that it's like you're in a used car lot. They don't seem to get that you're not buying a used car, but asking for help in your home with your family. These people are terrible. Your family is too valuable to risk with them. read more

It appears they're a young and not very professional agency. Their criteria isn't very informed or astute in regards to hiring private chefs. I'm not sure what they look for in regards to the necessary skillset needed for a personal chef. Certainly, there are more stayed and informed agencies that handle domestic employees. i will avoid them. read more

I just can say that is the best agency that I have work with. I applied for a job and suddenly I have three agents working for me and find me interviews with great families.They really care and help me find a nanny job that works perfect for me . I have a great resume, with a Bachelor Degree , clean background and excellent references and vast experience, but I didn't know how to approach a family and sale my fish, what I mean how to contact a right family , talk and explain how serious,reliable and responsible I am. I am a new client and am so glad that I found LifeWorx. I walked past LifeWorx about a year ago and took a picture of the sign thinking that I would love to engage a service like theirs. When the time came, I called them and they produced right away. They have a very responsive staff and the owner Bal, is very involved. As a working mom with a busy schedule and young children, I have been in search of a housekeeper who will partner with me to keep the house clean and to help me stay on top of things that need to get done. I am now working with a lovely housekeeper and my home has never been cleaner or more organized. I love the assurance of knowing that LifeWorx has done the initial vetting and that they handle all insurance issues.
