So far a fair experience for us with an Autistic son using care under backup care of bright horizons. Front office is pleasant. Place is noticeably clean and organized. Security measures in place. We're loving our time with Lightbridge so far. We moved to the area and frantically needed a new daycare... they were kind enough to slip us on a part-time schedule until something opened up. We kicked it off in Infant Room B with the amazing Nonna at the helm. She has taken to our boy like her own, and loves reporting back on how much he ate (this kid can chow down!) and regaling stories that made her laugh in the day. There are processes and policies because it is a chain, so while you miss a bit of the individuality, you get the comfort of knowing its run like a business: safe, clean, and caring. It's on a busy road but all the areas are locked and fenced and the one-way route in and out of the parking lot helps not create a ton of congestion. We're so happy with our first few weeks and look forward to watching our son grow and learn from them in the future! read more

We have been with this daycare since 2016 because our older son who is now 7 attended and now our younger son will be graduating Pre-K in June. The level of care has always been great even during the uncertain times of Covid. I have nothing but positive things to say about Lightbridge Academy in Whippany. We will be forever grateful for the time both our sons have spent here. The staff has always been kind and the curriculum they have taught has prepared both our sons for school. Great school! I have had my kids here since they were infants and I have been very happy over the years. When they were younger and the school was newer, it was a little unorganized but things are so much better now and the teachers are wonderful and loving with the kids. They do a number of extra things (dance, soccer, piano lessons, holiday parties, holiday events,etc) at the school during the week or outside of the school for special events which we really enjoy. And, may daughters are learning so much - I am happy to have them at Rainbow! read more

My son is 3 years old and started at Lightbridge 2 days a week about 4 months ago. He was at an at home daycare full time prior and at first we were all a bit nervous about the big change. Let me tell you - if you are looking for a loving, accommodating, awesome daycare... You have it at Lightbridge. The staff has worked with us to help our little one feel comfortable. Also, both my husband and I work full time and they really work with us on what we need. I love that they have cameras in the school and they send daily reports on our child. My son has learned so much already. They constantly have events and really keep the kids busy. I think he will breeze through kindergarten with what he knows already. Lightbridge is one big family and we are lucky to be a part of it!! read more

I sent my children to this school and for several reasons would not recommend this place. 1) Cleaning & Dusting was done while the children were EATING! C'mon!!! 2)The teachers were changed often 3) They seemed to focus on negatives and complained. Your child will be expected to sit still for over 30 minutes, if not then there will be complaints and expect your child to be forcefully held in a chair with hands held so that they cannot move. 4) my other child was critiqued because they didn't want to run around outside as long as the others did. 5) Expect the director and teachers to scare you into thinking your child has a serious problem and needs to see a therapist I did however like their online camera, their security system and the many activities such as gymnastics, soccer,dance etc that were offered by independent companies that came to the school to provide those services. After moving my children I realize that these services are also offered in other schools and the security system is just as great. The online camera is not offered at other schools. Children need to be in an environment that is stable ( one teacher) and where they are not pressured and constantly yelled at and criticized!!!! Both my children were very unhappy here and are now very happy at their current school. They also get sick ALOT less often. I have taken both children to a specialist as they scared me into doing and both are perfectly typically developing children. Forgot to mention that the director will tell u that if your child gave up nap time then they will be happy to bring the child aside and let them do a quiet activity. Once your child is enrolled, that will never happen!! You will receive as a complaint that your child does not want to nap and frequently talks, disturbing the others and you will feel helpless at this point and they will stare wide eyed at you expecting you to feel bad about it and discipline your child for not taking naps!!! Parent- teacher meetings are no longer a scary experience for us, thank God! We have nothing but good things to hear about our children. I'm sure happy I left you Rainbow Academy!!!!!! read more

Sadly, I do agree with the other parents that posted negative reviews. Rainbow Academy needs to hire staff that have experience with children. The young girls in the Pink Elephant room weren't moms and didn't have any experience with difficult to manage children. They have ego problems and attitudes. I overheard a teacher complaining because a parent told her she was using too many baby wipes. The teacher called the parent and the child funny looking- and this was as I was picking my child up, who fell asleep on another child's blanket. Unhygienic! And the shoe thing was also an issue for me- if infants are crawling on the floor they should be required to take their shoes off. The director was knowledgeable and very easy to talk to, but she needs to focus on hiring staff that are parents or know how to CARE for children, not just treat them like annoying little brothers and sisters... read more

My daughter just "graduated" from Lightbridge Academy and started kindergarten. She couldn't be any more prepared social and academically. She had an amazing experience. Never any tears! The teachers made learning fun and prepared them for the structure of kindergarten. The teachers are amazing and in my years at the center the turn-over was low. I am a working mother and was searching for a preschool I could feel comfortable leaving my child. I visited many schools and decided that this one was not the right fit. It just seemed too loud and the teachers did not seem warm and fuzzy. I saw a teacher pull one of the children's arm so hard that I gasped out loud... Hopefully, that teacher is not there anymore. Needless to say, I did not choose this school. there are a few other schools in the area that I really liked. Check out Kindercare (a bit pricey) and Inspirekids (they change rooms). read more

Our daughter has been going to Lightbridge Academy for two years and sending her there continues to be one of the best decisions we've made regarding her. Choosing a daycare is no easy task. We were happy where we were, but moving houses and changing jobs forced us to move daycares as well. I was nervous going from a small mom-and-pop daycare to a large, corporate one, but I'm so glad we switched. From the administration to her teachers and aides, we have not been disappointed. Our daughter makes progress each and every day and it is from the hard work of the staff surrounding her. Being a working parent is difficult on many levels, but knowing that she is happy and safe makes dropping her off every morning much easier. If your child has experienced day care before then this would be an ok day care. It's clean and the facility is huge and looks great, however, if your child is just starting out like mine was, the teachers weren't very nurturing to her and she had a really bad experience and did not sleep the whole night and did not want to go back. She stood by herself most of the day and she did not know what to do with herself. She started to cry when she seen another parent walk in and no one comforted her they just said mom will be here later to get you, she looked miserable. I worked at a nursery school for about 5 years and maybe I am just the nurturing kind but it does not seem like that type of atmosphere. They also only changed her diaper once in the 8 hours she was there. I also saw a few other things but I will not mention them because it is my opinion and how I want my little one to be treated. She also attended one day and I lost my deposit, which to their defense it was in the contract but they should revise that to say first few days are complimentary without a deposit. I lost $452 but at least I know my little one is happier. I would like other parents to try it out first before registering. read more
