He was thorough, knew his stuff, and explained what they would do. I hired Lighthouse because I felt very confident in Nick, and I was not wrong. The job took longer than expected due to the balcony/patio and some annoying wind, but I appreciated that Nick was out every few days, checking on the work and demanding perfection. In the end, my house turned out so beautiful I should have done this years ago. I now need new exterior lights because the old lights look terrible next to the gorgeous paint job. Without a doubt, the absolute best experience I've had yet with a general contractor. Nick, the company owner, personally came out to do the initial inspection. While he was not necessarily the cheapest, he quickly won us over with his keen attention to detail, knowledge, transparency in the process and patience in explaining all our options. We never felt pressured, taken advantage of or like he was holding something back. After we awarded Lighthouse the job, Nick and his office manager, Theresa, worked closely with us in scheduling the work, as well as holding our hand throughout the paint-selection process (and color consultant appointment) at Dunn-Edwards. The communication with Nick and his team through phone, text and email was prompt, professional and always courteous. The week-long process of repairing the stucco damage, and then repainting all around our house and detached garage, could not have been smoother or more streamlined. The crew showed up at 8am sharp each morning and worked through until 4:30pm each day. The thoroughness in which they did the work -- prepping surfaces, covering furniture, shielding plants, taping off windows/doorframes, moving patio items with care and respect -- was beyond impressive. Equally as impressive was how the crew needed no oversight or supervision from me. I'm so used to having to repeat instructions to contractors because either the person who came out to do the quote did not fully communicate the desired intentions to the crew foreman who actually comes out, or because of sheer laziness and trying to cut corners when "the boss isn't around." Not these guys. The experience and pride in their work showed through and through. At the completion of the work, Nick once again came out personally to do a walkthrough inspection with me. And without my even noticing, Nick pointed out a handful of small spots that could use touchups. Now that is honor, I say. And so a crew will be coming back out again in a week for just a day to polish up any spots so that the work is 100% perfect.
