There are a lot of addicts and scum and slumlords and discrimination on certain things…read more But most of the people kind and helpful and friendly,it's affordable and one of the absolutely most amazing places I've ever been all over the country There is not enough room to put everything great about crescent City here and it's only around seven miles long Everything you could ever want in a coastal town crammed in a tiny hidden little package And slightly better since I left after building maintaining and repairing many things and getting a few slumlords busted The police are great and not condescending, can take a joke and have some of their own. Won't be pricks if you don't give them a reason and won't discriminate just because some rando in authority or local doesn't like you They are empathetic to emotional issues There is a tiny marina full of life. You can totally rock climb(boulder) on the beach ,the beaches are amazing. Nice beach coming, close to any adventure you want within driving and sometimes walking distance , housing is affordable (difficult to find legitimate decent housing due to lack of availability for professional maintenance and construction) food is affordable,I don't do Walmart but there is one great local food and coffee (shout out to the coffee peoples) cab company is awesome, some of the older original locals are really friendly and don't mind passing conversation, there are several touristy things to do,the roads don't suck, home Depot and ace,as many or more dispensaries as grocery stores, there aren't many black people I'm assuming it residual racism from Oregon Not as stuck in the past as many places in Humboldt but not here in the now. , extremely interesting ambience, crazy fog, amazing weather almost everyday year round if you don't mind rain, only got what I consider cold probably three times in four years, problematic people and situations are compartmentalized in certain areas. There's totally a cheese factory with attractive employees, slower way of life like coastal living is supposed to be. Redwoods, obscene amounts of wildlife, great bike trails, can be walked, there is an awesome Asian market and miss kelly is an attractive female and the friendliest person ever. There are also the happy cows from the commercials across the street from the ocean, two light houses , surf spots, almost all people that work in stores are friendly and professional and mature, younger people aren't obnoxious or problematic if you check the tweakers they know their place most of the time, I'm personally unaware of any significant violence and the police there can handle it,Sam elliot drives and police truck(sup dude) other than a bit of extreme effort to get things fixed in housing and some lack of materials at random due to location the mailroom and employees are great, community watch knows their place(that's hard to find) It's in reasonable driving distance to Brookings Oregon another great place. Only real issues are the property management companies who are easy to deal with if you know the law and what you're doing, there are colleges,I lived across from a school and it wasn't loud, weed is crazy affordable on any budget Beaches aren't crowded even during season and you can find places to not be bothered even if people put in effort Construction and maintenance crews are a significant issue Crescent City is my favorite place in Cali seconded by Santa Barbara,if you can afford it go to Santa Barbara but the weather isn't as good way more stuff most upper economic people aren't stuck up even if you live out of your van in the los padres And to the point park rangers at both are awesome Oh and in crescent city there are tons of seals and sea lions that can be heard with the rising sun plenty of seagulls ,there are lakes and rivers along with the ocean Gas is more affordable or you can just go to Brookings or a casino. Natives are friendly. No idea how the average job market is but there it shouldn't matter. You can have an ideal coastal life broke there if you do it right Negative, they moved the amazing art from the entry of the city It's a really nice slow paced tiny little trippy twilight zone style coastal town. I'd call it quaint but that would not give it proper credit I however am discriminated on for doing the right thing and have been impeded from moving back after all the good I did for others because it cost me money and made them look bad Should have kept their noses clean paid me and provided proper housing like I did for others also maybe don't mess with former federal employees smarter and more skilled than you who knows the law because someone else told you to That's why the federal government backed me up And why ya buddy and his silly lawyer who thought he was smarter lost a federal lawsuit to a random guy on disability with no back up You're welcome for saving those people and your taxes that I don't have to pay since none of you could handle it I'll be back Discrimination is wrong

While many locals may refer to this city as a sleepy beach town, I see it as a North Coast nature hub. If you're a lover of the great outdoors, Crescent City has so much to offer. The city is bordered by some of the most gorgeous beaches that I've ever seen, many of which are easily accessible right from the Redwood Highway. A section of Redwood National and State Parks are located right within Crescent City. Here, you'll be able to camp, hike, and explore the most stunning redwood forests. Old growth redwoods practically surround the city and are prevalent throughout your journey during highway 101 (hence the name Redwood Highway). It's a small city that's void of the typical high tourist volume that you'd see in Humboldt county. While you won't find much of a nightlife scene here, what you will find is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of busy city life and a new appreciation of the wonders of the North Coast.

However, last night I wanted to go to dinner. A car parked in front of me and curb was pained red. Meaning no park. The young cop told me that red line means nothing. So, I was blocked in and couldn't get out for hours. Good news is I found a lot of red lines on curbs that, "mean nothing" I can now park by in town almost anywhere and won't get a ticket. This is perfect. That's for clarifying this.

The counter will not print boarding passes once closed. There will be nobody to help you get your boarding pass and bags checked. It's wise to print your boarding ticket at home or you will not be allowed to get on the plane. We saw several people being told that they could not get on the flight because they didn't have boarding passes printed and others could not bring their roller bags because they were not checked. Only people with passes and carry on were allowed after the baggage counter closed. I flew from here back in January 2025 and there was no TSA check which made it super easy to board. After flying in November 2025, the process was more complicated. We saw several people being told that they could not get on the flight because they didn't have boarding passes printed and others could not bring their roller bags because they were not checked. Extremely Unprofessional & Discriminatory Behavior at Crescent City Station…read more Advanced Air has some of the worst customer service I've experienced in over a decade of frequent travel. I've had three separate negative incidents with their staff at Crescent City (Del Norte) Airport, and it's clear there's a culture of hostility, inconsistency, and disregard for passenger rights at this station. Incident 1: Denied Boarding for Being 2 Minutes "Late" On March 24, I arrived at the airport at 7:17 AM for an 8:00 AM flight. After a quick restroom stop, I went to check in at 7:20 AM just two minutes after the counter had closed. There were still 10 passengers waiting, yet I was denied boarding and told to leave the terminal entirely. With no transportation options nearby, I had to walk over a mile to a motel. I'm a healthcare professional who was scheduled to be in surgery that day this last-minute disruption caused serious professional harm. Advanced Air later acknowledged in writing that this situation could have been handled more flexibly. That's not accountability that's damage control. Incident 2: Arbitrary Enforcement & Unreasonable Demands Two days after flying with no issues, I was stopped by the same station manager (Sarah) and told I could not board my return flight unless I purchased a second seat or left to buy a different travel item. The issue in question had never been a problem before and clearly depended on who was working that day. Even the airport director tried to help clarify, and Sarah still refused. I had to rent a car, buy what she demanded, drive to another city, and return to fly the next day. The lack of consistency and basic professionalism is unacceptable. Incident 3: Unjustified Escalation Onboard After going out of my way to meet their last-minute demands, I returned the next day completely in compliance. Still, I was treated rudely by both ground staff and the flight crew. Despite following all instructions, I was repeatedly harassed during the flight. When I calmly handled a minor issue after landing, the crew escalated the situation publicly using the intercom to threaten me with being banned and sending the pilot to confront me on the tarmac. Staff at Oakland later admitted the treatment I received in Crescent City was improper. Advanced Air's Crescent City team especially the station manager enforces policies arbitrarily, treats paying passengers with hostility, and shows no understanding of basic customer service.
