First to review! I live for this!…read more This event is hands-down one of the coolest beer-related events I've been to in San Antonio. You guys...it's FREE. For absolutely nothing, you can enjoy a plethora of homebrew and craft beers, live music, a moon bounce for the kiddos, food trucks available to buy snacks (kefta from Wheelie Gourmet FTW!), and you can even bring your dog! For all you beer nerds, there is also an educational aspect where you can learn homebrew techniques from San Antonio enthusiasts in the SA Cerveceros club. Get info on water, hops, yeast, grain, etc and how each component affects your brew. My favorite homebrew was the pumpkin ale #2. Light, refreshing, with just a subtle hint of pumpkin that didn't sweeten up the beer too much. I look forward to this day of beer enjoyment becoming more and more popular, so if you missed it this year, bookmark this now! You won't want to miss it again.

What do you get when you combine Free Beer, Live Music, Food Trucks and Classes on Home Brewing?…read more You get a very cool "Teach a Friend to Home Brew Day" Event put on by the San Antonio Cerveceros. They had educational classes for those wanting to learn, or learn more, about home brewing. Roughly 18 beers avail to sample some being their own home brews. Numerous booths with additional info on home brewing and the equipment and supplies needed. 2 Food Trucks, Wheelie Gourmet and KHill BBQ were there to serve you some awesome food. The best part though? It was all for free (except the food). No parking charges, no charge for entry, no charge for the beer, no charge for the classes. Other than buying your own food, which you would have to do anywhere else anyway, you did not have to pull your wallet out a single time. I cannot wait for the next one next year!

A lot of vendors selling awesome items from cool t-shirts from muertos design.com, to CBD products, souvenirs, chic bathing suits all the way up to plus sizes, art work was so vibrant, face painting, cool D.J., dancing, AND THE ICING ON THE CAKE: Free shots or Topo Chico and 1800 tequila, Free shots of Devils River whiskey (barrel was best), Free mixed drinks from Deep Eddy's, and Free cups of delicious coffee! I can't wait to check out their coffee festival on December 14th at Hemisfair. It could have been more crowded, but it was a nice amount of people nonetheless. I drank, shopped, ate, danced, made a few friends while sitting down to eat, and then drank and danced some more! Really enjoyed myself.

The location is outdoors and is set in an old industrial complex. There are art murals around the whole venue created from different local artists, which are nice to walk around, take pictures and look at. This was their first annual Dia De Los Muertos event named "Celebrating spirits with spirits". Which is a sampler event combining multiple spirit vendors like Devils River Whiskey, Deep Eddy Vodka, Crystal head vodka, 1800 Tequila. Out of all the samplers I tried, the tastiest one was the Deep Eddy Vodka lemonade flavor mixed with original red bull on ice. Thanks for the opportunity of letting me go here Fernanda, it was a fun event forsure!

My newest obsession for a quick meal is Bite Street Bistro! Their menu is full of delicious options from burgers and wraps to salads and mac n cheese. So far, I've tried their Shrimp Burger and Jerk Shrimp Salad. First, the burger! OMgood. The patty was all shrimp no filler, it came with the spicy delicious sauce which balanced perfectly on the sweet hawaiian roll it was served on. The salad was excellent which is a big deal for me because salads don't usually count as meals in my world. The roasted corn and tortilla added a great crunch and the jerk seasoning was spot on. As if you need more reasons to check out the awesomeness that is Bite Street Bistro, the guys who run the truck are really friendly, personable and make great suggestions if you need a little direction.

I almost feel as if I cannot accurately write this review because I INHALED all of it. There was burger and fry everywhere. I couldn't even really tell you what all was on the burger...I do remember briefly stopping to pull the pickles off...but goodness I destroyed that burger. It's not fair what I did to that burger. No sauce came on the burger but none was needed. The burger was served in a styrofoam container and it took up a good portion of it. And those truffle fries... I'm going to bed. This thing is rapidly putting me into a food coma.

No, it would be about 6:30pm. Anyway, all the usual organizations were there hawking their wares and medals. KSAT was prominent with local celebrities mingling with the crowd. One food booth was selling mini tacos and a small cup of corn for $3.67 plus tax. The best food deal there. Beer was $10 for a 24-oz can. Not terrible. It was the weather that was miserable. Hot and muggy. No real shade to speak of. A few of those beer garden-type tall round can tables with an umbrella. Sweat was dripping off of me. The saving grace was we could use the indoor Alamodome restrooms. Many people were just staying inside, cooling down. So did I for a while. Despite all this, it's a nice event.

I am a medal collector so I enjoy all of the choices of medals to add to my collection. I like the entertainment and all of the festive hats and outfits! They even do a little parade of people so all of the hats and costumes can be seen. This event is nice because it is free and it is all around Hemisphere Park so it is spread out. The entertainment can keep you going until the fireworks display to top off the evening.

I had not seen them since last year. Tonight I got the Mac and cheese. So wonderfully rich and decadent. Definitely not your box of Kraft. Made with 7 different cheeses and topped with Cheeze-Its for crunch. So much complexity and so smooth and comforting. This will change your perception of mac and cheese forever. I also tried the fried chicken balls. Roasted chicken and risotto with spices that give a little bite, rolled into a ball then deep fried in a funnel cake batter. A nice sweet dipping sauce is provided that just makes it complete. Update: I tried the chicken livers and oysters, bahn mi style OMG!!! So very good. The livers and oysters fried to perfection in a light crispy batter. Then everything topped with fresh bahn mi style vegetables. The chicken livers were the best I have ever had. Crunchy on the outside and so smooth on the inside. I could eat these livers by the bucket. Head to Tapa Tapa and see what they have created today. I think you'll be happy you did.
