Recent new ownership with an eye on the bottom line, have cleaned this counter service sandwich shop, that has about 8 seats at the bar in the back. Menu now includes pizzas and wings, mounted TV's in the eating areas. Not really big enough to be a sports bar. Kind of ambitious to be more than a sub shop, but entrepreneurs have their dreams. Stopped here for lunch while passing through for work. Lillys was recommended to me by a local business owner. I ordered a meatball sub. The sub arrived cold and tasteless. I love meatball subs and was starving so I did eat it but it wasn't good. The entire meal felt like it was directly from Cisco with nothing created in the restaurant just reheated in the microwave. Went to the post office and decided we were hungry. We eat outside since it was such a nice day. We had to order inside, but then the brought it out to use. Food was good had a chicken butter bowl with nano bread and rice. Husband had a mushroom cheese steak sub with Cajun fries. Food came to around $40. Been a while since I've been in because I was pregnant and finally back in the area. Service was nice and friendly so that's why the 2 stars... So found out they were under new ownership. They changed the menu, so now a digital board so that's ok except it's on 3 different ones...plus they are small. I decided to try a grilled turkey and cheese vs my normal Philly cheesesteak thinking the buns would be the same but apparently they are not. There was hardly any meat or cheese on it and the meat was sliced deli meat with melted cheese so I was disappointed. Then came the trio fryer deal... way disappointed. It was fried nicely, however I didn't get nearly as much as I had expected or used to get about a year prior. I am all for supporting local.. however for almost $20 I got the equivalent of $10 meal at best with today's prices. At first, I wasn't sure about tomato sauce being included with the meat, but it played well with the other ingredients. We also ordered a large onion rings, and they were great, too. The food was hot, fresh, and tasty. The service was friendly and fast with iced tea refills. Being a South Jersey native, I know a great Philly Cheese Steak, and this one is as authentic as it gets outside of the Delaware Valley. You also get your choice of provolone or American cheese. Honestly, this ended up being an excellent choice. Although there is minimal parking out front, the business was clearly residential at some point, so there is extra parking in the rear. Ambiance is dive-y, but in a good way. I ordered a 12" Italian sub that I split with my husband and the meat and cheese were very fresh. My only comment would be to ask for condiments because it did not come with any by default. Overall, I would stop in again for a quick bite. read more

This has been on my want to try list for over a year, but due to them closing at 4:00 p.m. most days, it was difficult to get the opportunity. Going in there is a counter with a menu overhead. The clerk was on the phone so we were studying the board trying to decide what we wanted. A guy, who might be the owner, asked if we were dining in or to go. We were said we were going to eat there, and he directed us to a dining area behind the order counter that you couldn't see. We sat at the bar, And immediately noticed all the cans on the ceiling. We got menus and the server/bartender took our drink, orders promptly. I ended up getting the special of the day which was boneless wings and fries. When the wings came out, they were more like breaded elongated chicken nuggets versus boneless wings. They were the garlic, Parmesan variety and tasted pretty good. The fries were also good. They do not have Coke zero currently, but we were told that when that Diet Coke ran out, they were switching to Coke zero. The bartender seem to know everyone by name except us, so it seems to be a favorite by the locals. A great family owned local favorite for many years. Today I resisted the temptation to go to ANOTHER national sub chain for a longtime customer friendly all around super cool restaurant that does an awesome job with sub sandwiches along with the other items on the menu. Today I ordered a cheesesteak and it was so delicious I couldn't even save half for later. The bread was soft, the steak was seasoned well, and I love the way they chopped the meat so that there were no large pieces as you bite into the sandwich. Everyone was so nice and attentive to everyone that was there, I could tell the regulars that came in, it seems they had there own table. While the inside is small, it's cozy and seems to be just the right size! I hope that you get a chance to experience local hospitality at its best. The best Philly Cheesesteak in the area. A very clean and quaint bar and dining area is a good spot to get away for a quick beer and a bite. Ive tried the Mushroom Cheesesteak on several occasions and it is consistently excellent. This time I tried it with both cheeses, Provolone and Yellow American. Excellent. Complimentary Roasted Peanuts at the bar are a plus. The antique beer can collection that covers the ceiling is very creative. I once spotted a Natty BOH can from my hometown of Baltimore but haven't spotted it since. I'm sure it's there; it's just that big a collection. read more

After asking for a real philly with onions, peppers, shrooms, and white american, I got what I wanted. The philly was good, but quite small for the price. The fries were gross and I threw them away, (they should try a little salt). I will go back to try something different next time. They have a neat little bar in the back that I would have loved to sat down and had a few (work is the curse of the drinking class). The bar is decorated along all the walls and ceiling with beer cans from all over the world and I saw some dating back to the 50s. It felt like a beer can museum of sorts. Went here after seeing a show. Was a great decision. Both of us ordered the Philly cheese sandwich. The wife and I really enjoyed them with a bag of chips which was only 51cents. Great prices here and service was excellent. Will be going back next time were in Leesburg. Would like to try the fish sandwich next time.
