Delicious dry wine offered by Alex, with impecable customer service skills and a real gentleman. The culinary was exquisite. The sauce is the best I've ever had, with a powerful flavor which goes perfectly with the beef, red cabbage & potato dumplings. Each part of the dish is served separately, which is a nice touch. Service is very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is quiet. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the excellent food. This place seems to be frequented by locals, or at least other Germans. We seemed to be the only obvious tourists there.

Not everything was great, but a decent meal overall. It was my second Schweinshaxe (pork knuckle) on this trip in Germany and it was even better than the first one. Super crispy and crunchy skin, filled with juicy, tender and flavorful pork meat. Skip the Sauerbraten (beef roast). It was dry and disgusting. Hash browns as a side was delicious though. Good place to people watch, though service is spotty. If you don't mind that, chill with a nice glass of Kölsch (Cologne's beer of choice) and enjoy the view and festive atmosphere.

Countless times workers walked right past us ignoring us. We tried to get their attention to get a table to eat yet none of them wanted to. We waiting, standing there looking directly at the workers for approx 20 mins before we gave up and left to go somewhere else that would actually have us. Could definitely do a better job making sure all customers are attended to.
