Last time I visited, it was near closing time and Carrie told me that I needed to leave the store. After I explained that I needed to walk out an elderly family member she rolled her eyes and sighed with obvious annoyance. I did not say anything. However the next time I visited the store I had a very similar interaction where I was putting away my shopping cart. I guess I moved a cart I wasn't supposed to for whatever reason and Carrie runs over and lets out the loudest groan I've ever heard. I couldn't even believe this happened. I don't understand how some one like this is employed at this store much less a manager. Extremely awful experience, the obvious attitude from a customer service employee is a first for me.

I had to try so hard not to buy tons of things. There it was sitting atop another table, the Holy Grail of my coffee table crusade. It was a true Danish piece, it was teak, it was vintage, and most importantly it wasn't ridiculously over-priced like a lot of tables on eBay or Craigslist. I must have had a completely different experience then some of the other reviewers at Antique Importers. The owner, Chris I believe his name is, was very friendly the entire time I was in the store. He never followed me around with his arms crossed, scowling, or treating me like a potential criminal, and yes, I do fall into the 25-30 year old looking age range. Actually, he was quite helpful and answered several questions that I had regarding the table and even took $10 off the delivery cost for me as I didn't live too far away from the store. Oh, and they even delivered the table on a Sunday evening after they closed! How many places have service like that these days? None of this "we'll be around sometime between 1pm-4pm on a Wednesday" b.s. that most places stick you with. If you're looking for larger furniture pieces, tables, chairs, sideboards etc, then you should check out Antique Importers for sure. If you're looking for smaller, more decorative items, then this might not be the best place, but there are more then a few of those shops close by in Pioneer Square.

It has the best selection and very competitive prices without complicated coupons and sales. We are creatures of habit, with my wife using JoAnn's Fabric for her sewing crafting needs because that's where her family shopped while she was young. Later Michael's became the place as they expanded and opened new stores in our area, and her other mom friends recommended. Now Hobby Lobby seems to be the place as we convert to an empty nest and help my newlywed daughter decorate her new place. This location isn't as new as the ones we have been going to in California, and wasn't nearly as well staffed. In our case, we were able to find everything on our own. I did learn that items marked as 'Your Price' (which is a large portion of the store) is the final low price, no other discounts apply. The vast majority of product are inhouse brands, with the price preprinted (which saves labor on pricing tasks). The only hiccup was that nobody was actively manning the registers when there were no customers, and could only scale to one register even with many customers waiting. But as I've recognized, personalized customer interaction is more important than speed and efficiency at craft stores, and it's obviously working for them.
