Coffees are a bit pricier and filled mostly with ice but the latte was extremely robust and flavorful and definitely a good viet coffee option especially when paired with the beignets. First time visiting this place. Read the reviews for the beignets and wanted to try. I think we got here a bit late during the day and so it wasn't as hot and fresh. The server was super nice on suggesting what to get since it was my first visit. The cafe was relatively small, with some seating available outside as well. Staff offered us to try some pastry which was decent, one of the pastry was not as flaky and more doughy. Ordered some banh mi as well. I think they got our order incorrectly because when we ate the sandwich thinking it will be pork, we had chicken instead. It was my own fault not eating the beignets right away. Our little Miya was so disappointed when we missed the beignet shop at Disneyland last night by just 3 minutes. Thankfully, we found this spot on Yelp -- and what a great find it turned out to be. The beignets are incredibly tasty, light, and fluffy. Honestly, you can easily finish 3-5 pieces per person without even realizing it. The packaging was already thoughtful, but the real surprise was discovering a tiny little shovel tucked inside for the vanilla cream sauce. Loved this cute bakery. Lots of pastries to choose from in their glass case. However, we came specifically for the beignets. Our order of a dozen beignets, iced Vietnamese coffee and pinacolada smoothie came out quickly. We found cute seating inside. This place is so nostalgic for their mini sandwiches! I always came here as a kid before a Disneyland day because my mom or aunt wanted to save money, so they would order a LOT of mini sandwiches to fill the kids up for the day. The portions are enough for one sitting, but they're so good that I remember scarfing down multiple boxes in one go They also have cake slices and full cakes if you need for an event. The inside gives that "mom and pop" vibe which brings me memories of checking out the display for the yummy desserts. Everytime I come here, the workers are so sweet and typically give me a freebie whether it's a pâté chaud or beignets(YES THEY HAVE THAT TOO!). It usually depends on what I get. They have a wide variety of savory or sweet foods so there's something for everyone. Honestly they have so much that I can't even remember to list them all! I ordered an all fruit tapestry birthday cake and it was horrible, the verdict: all butter and no cream. Besides the fruit, the cake was very bland due to all the butter and has no taste, It's not like how they used to make it or, did they change baker? Love going to Westminster, so many great places to eat and open on Easter Sunday. Today I was craving something sweet with my Vietnamese coffee. Was that lily herself with her adorable hat who gave me a free sample? Friendly staff and Al thought it was busy the line moves quickly. I got some beignets from here. We came here for the supposed "best beignets" of OC. Inside of the pastry is completely hollow and the outside of the beignet is tough. We hate wasting food but could only chew through 2 before we gave up on the rest. Not like Louisiana soft pillowy doughy beignets at all. Heard good things about the beignets do I'd been wanting to try Lily's for a while. I got 2 beignets and a Vietnamese iced coffee. The beignets were hollow and just like a shell of dough with powdered sugar is the best way to describe it. I just left New Orleans the home of the beignet. These were a definite no. The best beignet I've ever had was at Westfield Arcadia. A shop sold Russian style beignets that were so good me and the wife would make a trip just for them and she doesn't like sweets like that. The cashier did give me a sample of a coconut treat that I didn't like either lol. Nice gesture though since I let her know it was my first time there. The iced coffee wasn't good to me either. Awesome beignets! The place is fairly small and is usually crowded with older Vietnamese gentlemen sitting around and talking. They have a lot of desserts on display in their glass cases and looking amazing! I highly recommend trying their beignets! They're super delicious and fresh. There are also many other items on the menu that are made to order like bánh mì that are also tasty. We tried also tried their raisin croissant that was pre-made and sold near the front of the register. That wasn't good at all and was also fairly expensive. All the pastries were so delicious and nostalgic. I used to have the beignets when I was little and it's still amazing. They look so good for photos too! The cashier/server who took my order today (she was wearing red) was so kind and friendly. She made the experience 10x more wonderful. We don't frequent Garden Grove but happened to be driving by, and saw this place was pretty crowded (so figured it must be good, right)-- WRONG!! I bought this cute individual size "mocha" cake that was decorated like a flower wood log. When I got home, I cut into it, it looked a lil weird but thought maybe it's just food coloring, but when I took a bite, it didn't taste like anything and was stale... I cut all the way through and flip the piece over to see the bottom and literally see it covered in blue-green fuzzy MOLD. YUCK. OMG it wasn't even a tiny bit of mold, it was throughout the entire cake serving (hence the weird look and taste)!! How can you be serving this!?! How many MONTHS OLD is this thing!?! I ate 1 bite, and I guess I'll see if I get food poisoning symptoms tonight. I'll update again if I do. We also ordered the beignets, which were okay. The hazelnut iced Vietnamese coffee is pretty good. Some folks say it's the best. Still a lot more caffeine than I can handle! Vietnamese cà phê sữa đá usually is fairly strong! The best part about Lily's Bakery is the warm beignets that they sell by the box full! Order a box, sit down (if you're lucky enough to find an open table) and share them with your fellow patrons. There's more beignets than any one person can eat and they're best enjoyed hot! Parking here (and seating) can be challenging. It's a popular place. Either go early in the day or try to find parking behind the building. Also you have to be careful. The parking spaces are rather small. For many years, this bakery was a place for our family to order birthday cake, Christmas cakes, or any occasion cakes. They also Famous for their beignets, at least 2-3 times a week, we would go and get a box of beignet. It was such a treat for all of the young kids in my family. It has been at least four years since we've been back to this Bakery. I was so excited to get a box of beignet today and share them with my colleagues at work. I was boasting to them how good the beignets are from this bakery, but to my disappointment and embarrassment the beignets were absolutely uneatable, they were hard and seemed to be not fresh. I have to apologize to my colleague. I have to throw away the whole box. I don't know if this place still have the same owner . For sure the quality of the food is not there today. I usually don't ever or really post any negative comment because I know sometimes it is hard to run a small business. Since Covid lockdown, I'm very disappointed w the cutthroat pricing n the low quality of almost every bakery. There's only 1 left that still maintains the same standard as before but they close early n it's a hassle to order there, they are located on Westate st but I forgot the name. Many yelpers complain this bakery is not hip enough! Lol too many old geezers are hanging out in the patio. I have no problem w that as you guess it, I'm way over the hill myself. I ordered flan, again it has no caramel but the vanilla sauce was good . The cream horn I thought should have a yellow cream like Bavarian cream but nope, it had the same very rich white cream too buttery, if you want real Chantilly you'd have to go to France. I can't wait to go to Côte d'Azur next year. Paris food now is cooked by migrants it's more like African cuisine, Cannes still has real French food. I have bought bûche de Noël for years here, last year my daughter made a log n it was too much work n not enough decorations on the log. Unfortunately all they have is mocha, I'd rather have strawberries but oh well, I'd still rate this bakery a 4 because of reasonable prices. $38 for a medium n the owner is very nice , she always gives you beignets while you wait for your order. Today is 1/1/2024 I finally update about the bûche de Noël we had on 12/24/2023. I was disappointed it was so lame not as I remembered it fr years ago. From now on there's only 1 bakery for me it's called Final Touch bakery it's an elevated experience bakery n they do add rum on request, it's expensive but so worth it. We needed a coffee break and went to Lily's. Did you know they have the best beignets in the OC? I promise that you will think the same. The beignets are just lightly sprinkled with powdered sugar. It is the most amazing beignets that is airy and with a soft crunch. warm too. 4 for $3. Good price. These pair best with lattes, made with pretty strong coffee beans. The slight bitterness of coffee and the delicate sweetness of the beignets create the perfect balance. The pain au lait 'sandwich' (2 piece per little box) makes a good snack too. Husband and I shared. This bakery serves much more than just beignets..like banh mi, coffee drinks, vietnamese dessert drinks, smoothies, cakes and other baked goods. There are a few indoor bistro table seatings and plenty more outdoors. It was pretty busy right before noon on this Monday, luckily there were empty seats for us. read more

Very bad customer service I ever been to! Came in to pick up a birthday cake for my daughter who placed an order 2 days in advance, leave the credit card infor. with them and the pick up date and time. When I was there picking up the cake , they said they did not find my order/invoice by name nor by phone number! what the heck? what am I going to do ? The staffs there are terrible, very unpleasant, very bad customer services , passing one to another do not want to solve the problem. Finally there was an older lady in charge there asked me what kind of cake we ordered, I told her 6" pandan bd cake, obviously she couldn't find it either and asked me if can I want a different cake instead, I said no, at last; I had to call my daughter up and have her speak with the lady, they didn't even want to speak with my daughter on the phone, very frustrated, that lady asked her all kind of question over and over again on the phone, she ask us about of the person who took our order's name, what language that person spoke, they are very unorganized, what a waste of our time from the time to order to the time being there with the mistake they caused!! finally, they found my cake inside the refrigerator even with the name written on the cake. Not a word of sorry n hand me the recipe to pay!! Very disgusting, would not recommend anyone to come here. I hope the owner read this review. Ok, their chicken empanadas... delicious! Decided to stop by here since it's in the same plaza as my appointment. I just ordered something I'm familiar with which is the banh mi sandwich. I loved the chicken empanada more than the curry because I was actually craving the fillings inside a nom bao. And they have cute decorative characters macarons! Bakery. Brick & mortar: Tight and small. Need to wait in line that goes outside of the bakery. There are some outdoor seatings and many of their customers smoke. Parking: It is located in a busy shopping mall. Very hard to find parking unless you go there early in the morning. Bakery items: Their counter to the left side when you're going into the store has those choices (pic attached). To me they're not attracting my eyes. Too messy and too crowded. I didn't dare to take a picture on the right side of the store. Their counter was messy and unattractive. They used this as their fridge to keep things. They also have a see through fridge that they out their full cakes in. If I had to go there to buy a cake, I will walk out and go to a grocery store or Costco to get my cake. Taste is everything. But after seeing their designs and tasted their assorted sliced cakes that I got, I'd rather not. Beignets: They are good when you eat them fresh. I brought them home (an hour drive) and it was okay. Heated it up for 10 secs in the microwave and the edges became crispy. All 3 assorted cakes: The sponge: dry and hard. Fillings: All have the same consistency and the only difference are their flavoring which was slightly different from each other. Didn't scream their individual flavoring = bland. Cake pop: Messily made. The stick was too skinny for the cake pop. Taste: the same review as my cake above: bland. Durian smoothie: I found some chunks of durian in there. However, the taste, I am almost positive that they add some powdered flavorings. I tasted a strong vanilla and super sweet. On top of that, I paid a total of $35. To me they're not worth that much. I usually paid $30 for 2 slices of cakes, at least 8 fresh breads and a regular sized latte. I'm sorry. I won't be back. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I mean, if you're going in for their coffee and cake pops then sure, but I came here for the cake. I mean, it IS a "bakery", non? This ain't lily's coffee. Anyway. For $80 I was expecting something better. I expected the chocolate to taste like chocolate. It's a more bitter, less rich cocoa. The breading for the cake isn't as fluffy or soft or moist as I would expect in a cake. The beignets were okay. They gave me a dozen on the house after I paid for the cake upon order 2 days before pick up. Service is what you'd expect from a Vietnamese bakery. Wouldn't come here again.
