Found a little gem while searching for crepes. Didn't realize the shopping center existed and we're glad to have found it. Not very much seating inside but they do have plenty of patio seating outside to the left of the shop. Service was great. We were helped quick and our crepes came out even quicker. Priced well and they were delicious. My kids devoured all of it. I was lucky enough to get in a taste before it was all gone. Regretfully, we did not enjoy our crepes. 2nd time to purchase crepes. Ist time buckwheat. This time the regular crepe. Floppy, and strange texture. Did not seem like a crepe. Not much inside, little cheese, tomatoes had no flavor, little salmon. I requested a spoon, but they don't carry spoons? Utensils were thin plastic, cheaply made, and they gave away a cheap plastic bag (NO!) but then a sustainable clamshell box? why not all sustainable? I love crepes, but only buckwheat, which are hard to come by and taste uniquely different. We stumbled on this place and stunned to discover they have both types of crepe with both savory and sweet options. We got their smoked salmon with a Vietnamese iced coffee ... one was more than enough for us to share. Though in the future now that I know how delish they are, I'll get my own and take leftovers home! Their ingredients are super fresh and execution soooo excellent! I was in the area dropping off dry cleaning next door and decided to grab a bite before heading back to work. The menu is large so deciding what to order took awhile. So many choices that sounded tasty although I ended up with a classic. Unfortunately I didn't notice the outdoor seating as it's off to the side and I hadn't walked down that far. Instead, I ate inside at one of the 3 tables. The interior is nothing fancy at all. Very small, somewhat cluttered and pretty warm considering it was a cooler day outside. I'd defiantly eat outside if I came back. Service was pleasant and my order came out quickly. Strawberry Milkshake - it was fine. Not overly sweet or thick. Ham and Cheddar Jack crêpe - crepe was tender and the filling was pretty straight forward. Nothing out of the ordinary. The side salad was small pieces of chopped lettuce with two small cherry tomatoes cut in half a few slivered carrots and a drizzle of dressing. Maybe my order was just too basic and I should have ventured out to something more daring because I just wasn't wowed here. My wife and I had a great time here 2 weeks ago. Great food and drinks. We liked it so much so, that last week we picked up some food to go last week. However their boba drinks to go don't have solid lids or drink caddies, so moments after stepping out of the restaurant one of our drinks spilt in the plastic bag it was in and got all over my car. So that sucks. My wife went back in to explain the situation, asking for another drink, only to be told since it wasn't their fault they won't replace the drink. So after we spent around $140 on the two visits, and they couldn't be cool and whip up a drink that costs like $3 to make, I don't think we'll be going back there. This little Creperie place is right in our neighborhood plaza next to Starbucks and Safeway. Never really noticed it until one day we realized this is a nice sunny spot for breakfast. So we of course ordered their signature thing which is crepes. Surprisingly my banana and Nutella one was soooooo delicious and presented very nicely as well. He said he love his fruit crepe too. There is only one table outside which is perfect for us. We can sit down with our dog babies. It's a small place but they do have a good menu for a nice breakfast. Lily's Creperie is a charming small space located in the Crystal Springs Village strip mall in San Mateo. Discovered while charging my EV, this was a great chance to kill time and enjoy an even greater snack. My fiance swore by the lemon crepe and it did not disappoint. I watched Lily make the crepe from scratch, placing fresh batter onto the piping hot griddle and flattening it out into a perfect circle. There's something so satisfying about watching a crepe being made. I love her generous use of butter as well, hoping it was the wonderful type they use in banh mi because if so, french butter is gloriously better. After some ample squeezes of fresh lemon, she folded the crepe, placed it in a to-go container and sprinkled some powdered sugar love with extra love on top in the form of fresh whipped cream. It is a treat worth waiting for, although at the time we went around 2pm, the place only had 2 visitors dining in. Parking is abundant so you should easily find a spot. Which means you should definitely go and give Lily's a visit. Bonus points if you also get the iced ca phe sua da. Amazing iced coffee that is strong enough to wake the dead. Today was a long work day for me. My last stop was in San Mateo. I was going to head over to that well-known coffee chain next door, but they closed early. Thank goodness Lily's was open. I was more thirsty than hungry and they had BOBA! I am probably the most boring boba order, but I'm glad I have options. I like Jasmine Green Tea unsweetened with boba because the milk can sometimes be too much but it's always too sweet. When I asked if I could get my order like that it was no problem. In fact, the person I ordered it from said she preferred it that way too! That made my day! And it helped keep me going on the ride home to the East Bay! The crepe was well-filled and delicious! It came with a big scoop of whipped cream which tasted homemade (really puts the canned stuff to shame) and some kind of sweet drizzle (caramel?) A few items leading to the one star: 1. The lady behind the counter was rude to say the least. I asked nicely for the watermelon juice if it was fresh and could there be less or no ice. The reply was filled with sass and a glare. "It's BLENDED." Scoff. 2. She made the crepe and touched it with her bare hands! No gloves. She creased and folded it with no gloves after taking our order. Walking around. Turning off their open sign etc. 3. We received our food at 4:45. This place is one of the few places that serve the closest version of French crepes, sweet and salty! I found it on Yelp while searching up crepe places in the area. They only offer takeout as the place is a hole in a wall and you can place your order online as well (GrubHub). Plenty of parking in the plaza so it shouldn't be an issue to park and enjoy the crepe in your car. I've tried the Ham and Cheese crepe and the Nutty Nutella crepe and the were both really enjoyable. The crepes are loaded with ingredients so it definitely hits the spot when you're craving crepes. They also include a fruit salad with the ham and cheese crepes which is nice. We walked in when they were barely opened at 10:55 am or so on Valentines Day. They welcomed us and said we can order anyways. The inside is pretty small. Overall this cute business is very Frenchy:) A few tables inside and a few more by the side walk and a couple of very attractive tables by the side. We chose the attractive red tables. It is after all Vday! I had the #11. Eggs, mushroom, Havarti cheese and green bell pepper crepe. No sign of meat and yet I loved it. Wow! I was surprised myself. It was that good. Adam had #11. Ham egg cheese mushroon. Equally delicious. You can get extra eggs or meat for a few bucks more. I had the Very Berry smoothie- thick and really very berry :) Adam had the Acai smoothie. A decently tasty crepe. Stopped in to Lily's Creperie for the first time on Friday afternoon. While visiting I ended up having one of Lily's Buckwheat Crepes made in their savory style #2. Ham with Jack & Cheddar Cheese plus Pineapple & Thousand Island. Mine left off the Thousand Island cooked in and was instead placed on the side. I also had a Aranciata Rossa Blood Orange) flavored Pelligrino. Overall I they make a decent crepe. The place it clean and neat. For the most part the staff are happy and welcoming. They even have a place outside to sit and enjoy your crepes in the sun, or in the shade. I recommend you sit outside. Inside is much louder for multiple reasons and not as pleasant. See my pics such as they are. I had wanted to take more but the owner Scott visited my table and expressed concern that an employee did not want to be in the picture. So the pics I deleted are not included. I offered to take more pics while excluding the person/people who did not want to be imaged. But Scott indicated he would rather I not do so. So Yelpers, be aware that he may visit your table and ask you not to take pictures as well. Strange as that may seem. Otherwise my experience was unremarkable for a creperie visit. Which in itself is a good thing because there was nothing I can find that would prevent you from enjoying their tasty crepes. Total for the bill was $9.45. A decent deal.
