The food was amazing, cooked to our likings. We also got the dip's appetizer and that was delicious as well. The ambiance was nice and fancy- it was high end. The pre fixe price was great. We did not drink. The only thing I did not like was that everything was more money and they did not allow any substitutions without an additional charge. I don't know how much the service staff has changed since I came years ago, but the service was simply abysmal in contrast. Waiters grabbing plates without asking, fluctuating between stopping at our tables too frequently or hardly at all (without any input from ourselves), and waiters just having a poor attitude in general; it was not what I expected when I first sat down. The food otherwise was good. For our entrees we ordered Red Snapper, Loup de Mer, and the Garides Saganaki. All the dishes were good, especially the Loupde mer, but we could tell that the Red Snapper wasn't fresh on account of its mushy texture and the fact the snappers we had witnessed earlier sitting on ice that were fresh had not gone down in number. I rarely write negative reviews, but our experience at Limani in Roslyn for my daughter's graduation dinner was so disappointing that I felt compelled to share it. We chose Limani because of its reputation and expected a memorable dining experience worthy of celebrating such a special milestone. Instead, it was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've had in a long time, especially considering we drove nearly 45 minutes to get there. From the moment we sat down, things started off poorly. The complimentary pita and dip provided for our table of five was surprisingly sparse. We then waited 20 minutes before our waiter came over to take our drink order. Another 25 minutes passed before the head captain noticed our table sitting empty and stepped in to take our appetizer order. We ordered calamari and saganaki. While the calamari arrived relatively quickly, it was extremely crunchy and noticeably overcooked. The service delays continued, as it took a total of 45 minutes from the time our drink order was taken before our waiter finally returned to take our dinner order. For our entrees, we ordered two Dorado fish dishes. One was enjoyable, but the other was completely flavorless. My husband ordered the swordfish skewers, which were good, but the accompanying lemon potatoes were disappointing. For a Greek restaurant known for traditional cuisine, the potatoes lacked the bright, flavorful lemon and herb notes you would expect. We also ordered the horta (mixed greens side dish), which was equally bland and seemed to be missing the garlic, olive oil, and seasoning that normally make this dish shine. My son ordered the salmon, which arrived overcooked and visibly burnt. I kept things simple with a salad and spanakopita. The salad was fine, but the spanakopita was unlike any traditional version I've ever had. Instead of flaky phyllo dough, it resembled a spinach-filled pastry wrapped in something closer to a Wellington-style crust. I must note that the second appetizer of saganaki, fried cheese, arrived right before our main courses were served. The most disappointing part was that this was supposed to be a joyous celebration of my daughter's graduation. We had brought a cake and cookies to enjoy after dinner, but the overall experience was so poor that we decided to skip dessert altogether and take everything home. To be fair, after I spoke with the manager, she was very understanding, accommodating, and professional. She acknowledged our concerns and significantly reduced our bill, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, while the gesture was appreciated, it could not make up for the fact that the evening's celebratory atmosphere had already been lost. This is a classy, large, expensive Greek restaurant with valet parking on Northern Blvd. in Roslyn. Reservations were necessary the four or five times we've been there and yesterday it was Mothers Day. They put out a little pita and two little dips: very plain pasty humus and even blander babaganoush. My wife and son each ordered crab cake and white lima beans appetizers, but the kitchen put them on the same plate. They both agreed it was delicious and that it was smart they got two orders of crab cake ($32 each) because there wasn't enough for two adults to split one crab cake, which was about the size of two stacked knock hockey pucks. They both ordered the halibut ($46 each), but I got the bargain swordfish ($45). All of us agreed the fish dishes were top quality, very well prepared including the accompanying veggies. I can't name another restaurant that prepares fish better. Two out of the three desserts were winners: my pistachio cake ("portokalopita") and the "chocolatina" (chocolate cake filled with hot fudge ("volcano"), etc. The loser was "milopita" (apple cake), which wasn't cake at all, but more like a flatbread with powdered sugar and a few super thin slices of overcooked, tasteless green apple. Loved my brunch experience at Limani Roslyn! The sushi, shrimp cocktail, and lobster were absolute highlights. The tiramisu was amazing! The staff were super attentive and made sure everything was perfect. They kept refilling our waters and asking if we were doing alright. They didn't rush us at all. The restaurant itself is gorgeous - plenty of space and tons of natural light. They have valet service so bring some cash for tip money. However, I had to give it a 4 stars out of 5 because my friends and I thought it was strange how it was a Hampton Water event and didn't include a complimentary glass. We did end up buying the Hampton Water Bubbly because it was delicious after we tried a sample from their brand ambassador. But, we were offered 1 complimentary glass of either Bellini (the Bellini was delicious), Bloody Mary, or Mimosa which was included in the brunch $80 price. A beautiful Mediterranean restaurant located in Roslyn, about a block away from the Americana Manhasset Mall. The place has free valet parking which often gets filled up on Fridays and Saturdays for dinner in which you would need to find your own street parking. I came here to celebrate a birthday and we did family style. First, they give complimentary Pita bread in a basket as well as hummus dip which is very good. Next, we ordered appetizers to share: the best and crispiest fried calamari I think which goes amazingly with the green sauce, a stack of Limani Chips that compose of zucchini and egg plants both of which I don't usually like but taste great with the white sauce, and grilled octopus which is deliciously made with a variety of vegetables. For the main entree, we shared a lobster pasta and two side orders of lemon potatoes. The lobster shell is placed on the plate just for aesthetics as all the meat is already placed inside the pasta. The pasta is not dry at all. It consists of garlic and white wine. I love when it first comes out hot and steamy. The Lemon potatoes are one of my favorites. They are seasoned with olive oil and lemon juice - makes you want to keep eating it. Lastly, for dessert I ordered the Greek Yogurt which tastes splendid with the honey, berry compote, some kind of fruit, and some nut crumbles. I made a reservation a week prior on OpenTable for a birthday celebration and I added a note to put Happy Birthday on the dessert. But I was disappointed to find that they missed my note completely. My friends had the Mediterranean fish, another appetizer dip, and octopus. The dip was huge. It was okay. The fish was okay... a little fishy. The octopus was actually perfect. We were there yesterday for a friend's birthday. They sat us down all the way in a congested corner despite having plenty of tables empty around us. Not only that, they sat another couple right next to us to make things worse. Multiple times my friend was pushed by the waiters while they passed through the congested space between the chairs. Even though they apologized, they kept on repeating it. By the behavior of the staff it was quite obvious that they favored other customers than us considering that the couple and our group were placed in a corner. We were pretty much segregated away from others. I have never experienced this kind of neglect and discrimination at a restaurant before. The same group of my friends have dined out at multiple restaurants. And an upscale restaurant to have such a culture is quite disheartening. Needless to say, we will never return and will advise everyone we know not to return as we may not be good enough to fit into the standards of Limani's other patrons. Food overall was ok. My salmon was decent. But we should have brought along a magnifying glass to find the lobster because it was almost nonexistent in the lobster pasta. The desserts were also nothing special. We both had two espresso martinis. They were really good since this is one of my favorite drinks right now I was happy with the outcome. For appetizer, we had the raw oysters which were of course amazing and the octopus which was grilled well and had a generous amount of onions. I do understand that this is a Mediterranean restaurant and they use a lot of olive oil. I would prefer to have a little less with an octopus, but overall it was good. For our entrée, my boyfriend had the salmon that was accompanied with mixed vegetables which contained cauliflower, broccoli and string beans. His salmon was cooked well and he enjoyed it. For myself, I ordered the swordfish which I could've sworn was on a skewer by presentation but as I was cutting it, I realized it wasn't if you are familiar with swordfish you know that it has the consistency of chicken with how meaty it is this is one of the reasons I get it because I do enjoy the texture and it being accompanied with onions, tomato and peppers. This dish came with a side of lemon potatoes which were good. My boyfriend enjoyed a cappuccino after lunch and for dessert we had a cake that he loves. I honestly can't remember the name of it. The black sea bass had the same flavor as the loup de mer, but was stiffer and more pricey for one person than the loup de mer. The filet mignon was super tender and soft: a really good cut of beef. The grilled vegetables were an enjoyable side and were packed with flavor too. We tried the galaktoboureko for dessert which had layers of crunchy phyllo, custard cream in the middle, and vanilla ice cream under all of it. It was pretty good. It kind of tasted like cereal. This place is for you if you like mediocre, bland and severely overpriced food. We had a large party so ordered a few things for the table to share. We started off with some raw oysters- they were fresh and clean, but were very bland, and so was the mignonette sauce; octopus, crab cake, mushrooms and Greek Meze were nothing special at all. Everyone's entrees were mostly the staple- branzino, one person got lobster and although it looked pretty on the plate - the lobster was over cooked and rubbery. That being said, the price are very HIGH, the portions are not inline with what they charge. For example, I had the lambchops which consisted of 3 small chops, a few potatoes and veggies for $58, outrageous. Cocktail and wines were also ridiculously priced, $22 for a glass of Pinot Noir, that's insane! The other appetizers and mains were consistent with the description of my dish. It is a taste we have and explore here,but reminds us of something new. When you pull up to Limani you know you are in a new place. Walk inside and the host will know you have made a reservation to take a place for the meal. It is a place that already has a large collection of individuals who are here and having a meal they want to enjoy. There is seafood and meats to choose from. The whole fish is fresh. It is not frozen. This is what they have received today to offer you. There is a raw bar with new items to consider. The meats were freshly cut and aged to be grilled or fried. There were orders of salads and vegetables. There are appetizers, entrees, and more to choose from. Even though they are Greek from appearance there are no gyros or Greek salads or items we might have had at a small Greek establishment. Limani is on a grander scale. They even have specialties that include lobsters, clams, shrimp and more. As they brought the wine for us they also brought our first appetizer. Their famous Tomato Salad. This was a fresh salad that was big. The size of the tomato needed to be cut with a knife to make it bite size. It was fresh. It also came with half a green pepper and onions that were raw but would normally be used for cooking. It did not have slices of a red onion with more flavor. The salad did include a slice of Feta cheese. It was small. There was no other flavor or spices. It was a bowl with large tomatoes and a piece of Feta. That was it. It was not the normal Greek salad you would expect in Greece. Next we received the Calamari. It was truly fresh. It was breaded. It was light. It was crisp and delightful. This had a good flavor as expected. It had some spice added. It was not heavy. It did include a little sauce to dip in as you take a bite. This was a good size and could have been the entree by itself. It was just right. Grilled Octopus was next on the menu for us. This, also, was fresh. The octopus was coated and grilled. That is all. It did not have salt, pepper and spice. There was a hint of lemon and very little olive oil that was all. We looked at it and gave it a try. It was grilled. It was dark, hard, and parts of it could not be eaten as it was burnt. It also tasted gummy. When we mentioned this to the waiter they just took it away. That was all. No comments. As the entree arrived it was as we selected true Surf-and-Turf. Here we received a combination of Branzino fish and Lamb Chops. The Branzino was fresh. It was lightly grilled with some olive oil and nothing more. It was an entire fish that was split in two so you could share it in half or eat the entire fish. There was no other spices. It was good that we had a piece of lemon that we could use to sprinkle on top for some flavor. Otherwise the fish is bland. The Lamb Chop were lamb chops. The two chops that are presented were fresh, moist and medium rare. This was right off the grill. Nothing else was added to it. No spices were added. You could take a slice and know what you had here. This actually turned out to be one of the best pieces to offer. We also received a side offer of grilled vegetables. They included asparagus, slices of eggplant, peppers, and zucchini. There was even a piece of grilled feta cheese that was soft and moist. The vegetables had no flavoring or spice. They were grilled and charred. Some of the pieces could not be eaten since they were burnt. This too was bland, so we left that to the side. Once the table is cleared it is time for dessert. For us this included a traditional Greek-Mediterranean pastry of Loukoumades, the honey ball with cinnamon and sugar. This is always a way to end a traditional meal. The selection we received was warm, freshly made. If you are looking for a place that is special, unique and different, then Limani in Roslyn is a place to consider. You can enter the event with big promotions of design, impression, personality and more. Pass the various Bentleys, the Rolls Royces, and the McLarens that are sitting right outside the main entry. I switched to my standard sav blanc and was not disappointed. Now, the reason for the three stars is the main entree. I am a vegetarian and now a days almost all restaurants have great veggie options. Even steak houses. As such, I found the bland pasta main dish (not on the menu!) to be less than idea. Best seafood I've had in a long time - especially during the Pandemic. Many local restaurants can't keep high end menu items in inventory given the restrictions and lack of outdoor dining space that many still seem to prefer (myself included). A few fellow foodies I trust had suggested this place but dining with my kids at a mainly seafood spot is not easy. And given the $$$, I'd rather enjoy it with fellow foodies that will savor the meal as I did. I ordered three items and was stuffed to the gills! The starters which are a must have: seared scallops (comes with 4, easy to share) and the sushi grade octopus. Many restaurants have this on the menu but I was surprised at the execution. The pieces were quite evenly cut and thus, no one was stuck with just tentacles. The portion was also generous - can feed three-four easily since it's an appetizer. The third dish was a sharing entree - as my friend and I wanted to try some fresh fish, we opted for one we both have never had before, the Fagri. So fresh, tender and meaty. Naturally subtle flavors but plated with delicious olive oil and seasoning. I couldn't finish my share of the fish. I believe it was about 2.5-3 lbs. It was excellent! We ordered a side of grilled vegetables with Haloumi and it was fantastic! Veggies were sweet and grilled beautifully; think asparagus, eggplant, brightly colored peppers, onions, and zucchini. I have no problem, paying for a good food as long as it is just that. good . Unfortunately, I didn't feel that this restaurant lived up to its reputation of having a exquisite dining experience. I had Dorado fish which was really good, but everything else a lot less desirable. The dips that are served with broken small pieces of pita were not really appealing whatsoever. My dining partner ordered chips that actually looks like potato chips deep-fried. Seems like a lot of wealthy neighborhood customers frequent this restaurant. It wasn't just bougie but the food was fresh, great service and valet parking. This is a review of their Sunday Brunch for $60 pp. Ok so I am a foodie and will travel for food, a month ago a friend post on FB of this restaurant where her sister took her for her birthday and I was like wow where is this place? Now if you have been following my other reviews you will know that we drive to Montreal for 7 hours just for a weekend of eating and drinking so this is only an hour away from Brooklyn and we are like yeah let's go! Now I had to convince my French hubby that LI can have great food lol, I was a little nervous because between a suburban setting and an unknown restaurant I am taking a big chance. Lord and behold the Sunday we went happened to be the NYC 5- Boro Bike tour!!! I was praying all this effort will be worth it. Upon arriving, valet parking and we were seated right away even though we were half an hour earlier than our reservation. Immediately i like the airy high ceiling setting but like one of the reviewer stated before the seats can be crowded but we managed no biggie. We went straight to the seafood table. Lobster and shrimp and it was great! Then we tried the sushi ( it is ok since some has been set out a little too long and the rice got a little hard but I will let it slide). Later we checked out the cold spread of cold cuts and cheeses and also the hot buffet where it has assortment of Italian/Greek/Spanish ( paella). My kids has the crepes and we didn't even make it to the carving stations because we were done!! Also it includes the mimosa, Bloody Mary and champagne. Limani was hopping at 6:00PM on a weeknight; note that they no longer offer the "bargain" 3 course price fixe early dinner mentioned in previous Yelp reviews. Reserved easily by phone the day before despite the fact that all dining slots were shown as fully booked on Opentable. I was sternly informed that we were only allowed to have the table for 1.5 hours; that was not a problem for us but may be annoying to those who prefer to linger over their meal - especially at Limani's lofty price point. Must say that Limani is doing a wonderful job with COVID restrictions, including spaced out tables with attractive clear dividers, temperature checks upon entry etc. It was just the two of us but we were shown to a spa9cious table for four so it was easy to relax and chill. Decor is luxe modern and the noise level was energetic despite high ceilings due to hard surfaces throughout. Started off with fig cosmo and persephone cocktails, delish and fruity but not overly potent so we got another round, this time chose VIP pineapple martinis which were fantastic. Shared the much-touted octopus app, small tender discs of mollusk sauteed with onions and herbs. Outstanding! Hubbie's lobster pasta was very tasty. I decided to splurge on the charcoal broiled lobster entree, sorry I did so as the lobster was tough, dry and priced at a whopping $75 that night with no sides. Shared the karidopita dessert, a walnut sponge cake topped with lavender ice cream, very sweet but good. Service was prompt and professional throughout the meal, enabling us to finish dining within our allotted hour and a half time window without a moment to spare. Driving home satiated from the meal, we mused over what Hellenic tragedy might have befallen us had we tried to tarry in excess of their draconian time constraints......Opa! read more

I thought the food here was decent although could have been better for the fine dining experience their giving. The environment is quite pretty and I loved the display of fresh seafoods they had. The food itself was good. I enjoyed the octopus, my lobster pasta could have used more lobster in it but taste was there. The service was already pretty good with friendly and attentive staff. Limani used to be the crown jewel on Long Island , used to be, maybe 10 years ago . The last several visits have been so disappointing but like a fool I keep expecting them to get the magic back. It's not and it won't. They served me frozen swordfish, rubbery and bland. That dish used to be so delicious there but it's a shame they would do that. Came here for a birthday dinner with a group of 12 women. The service was top notch and the food was delicious. I ordered the Kykeon drink .. it was sooooo good! I highly recommend if you like spicy drinks. For food we ordered spinach pie, fried calamari, octopus, crab cake, the fried eggplant and zucchini chips, lobster and filet mignon. Everything was absolutely delicious! My fav was the octopus, zucchini and eggplant chips and the spinach pie. We ended dinner with espresso martinis. I highly recommend coming here.
