Walking around the property is a literal scavenger hunt, with vast berry patches, live animals, and a miniature waterfall. You can't quite see Canada (seven miles to the east) from the observatory, but you'll have a tremendous view of the area. I strongly encourage you to stop by Goughan's, pet some bunnies, play some golf, eat some strawberries and onion rings, finish with ice cream, and take something to go. I wish the gift shop had more jams when we visited, but you can't have everything.

I was told that I should coordinate my trip with the Potato Blossom Festival that Fort Fairfield hosts. Planned our trip around the parade and the auto show. The parade was great. A good representation of the surrounding towns were showcased in the lineup. The little girl next to us went home with a pretty full bag of candy. The noise of some of the lineup was a bit much for my dog and had to cover her ears for a portion of it. The challenges I found with this festival was layout. Everything seemed to be tucked away and if you were a visitor you would not know where to find them. We wanted to be part of the Rubber Duck race on the river but could not find any info on where that was being held. Also, where the music was being played was awkward and if you didn't bring your own chair you would have had to sit on the asphalt parking lot. Would I go back...probably not. While it was a sweet event, there was not enough happening to keep us entertained and we spent far too much time hanging out in the hotel.

We went to see the 2pm Spider verse movie! I love the overall aesthetic this place has always kept…read moreof the classic movie theater. I was very pleased with the movie and of course with the quickness at the ticket line. I did however have an issue with the lady at the concessions I had three children with me and I was trying to get her to focus on what I was trying to tell her instead of the kids. I was telling her how many ring pops we were taking as the kids were choosing their colors. She ignored my information on what was happening and started to become short with us and told us we needed to control our children better; they were picking out the candy that was placed on the counter for nice they had wound down after being excited I would have informed her if there was more then originally intended. My sister and I were so flustered I told her to take my card so we could go enjoy the movie we paid for. I didn't receive a total or a receipt. I am not sure why there was an issue with our kids but when I returned after taking a minute she still proceeded to be rude when all we were trying to do was take our kids out for a good time. Movie was great and overall the service was great but concessions; I hope she was nicer to the other excited children.
