Friday, sunny warm summer day, and lunch time.... hungry. My colleague and I decided that we deserved nice lunch-out to celebrate our surviving this busy week! Queen St E on Friday lunch time is vibrant, filled with variety of independent shops, restaurants and cafes. Many people are enjoying their dining and social time. We were in the right place! We parked our car, then started to look around to see where to eat, and I found Limon right on the other side of the street. Lucky me! Limon has been on my "go-to" list! We were seated at the sidewalk patio. :) We had: # Whole Sea Bream with Israeli salad # Lamb Shish kabob with fries Complimentary pickles were immediately served. Good for a hot day - stimulating appetite. Sea Bream was generously big, crispy outside and super juicy inside! Simple yet perfect seasonings. Squeezing fresh lemon perfected the flavor. Israeli salad is a bit under-seasoned (for my liking), but nice aroma with plenty of herbs. Lamb Shish Kabob was also generous, a lot of large chunky meat cubes are cooked to perfect medium rare. Tender, juicy. Delicious. The accompanying fries are addictive. Crispy golden brown, perfect seasoning. Nice neighbourhood, pleasant service, cheerful & bright atmosphere, delicious food and generous portion. I liked this place - worth exploring other menus! Will come back again :)

One thing I've noticed about Yelp in Canada is that you won't see tons of reviews by association. This means restaurants aren't padding their positive reviews with friends and family responses. It seems here that every review is honest, and they all count, so I'll make sure to post an honest review. This is a fantastic restaurant in a thriving neighborhood, with great food, service, and an inviting atmosphere. I have so many great restaurants to add to my Canada list this is another one for sure. BB

We were looking for somewhere to dine and walked by Limon. The staff was very welcoming and nice. The menu is very easy to navigate. We decided to go with the fish and some side salads. The food was delicious, flavorful, and satisfying. We had a great time, definitely recommend!

Cute cozy place at beautiful area. Excellent Middle Eastern food for reasonable prices. We came there during the week at lunch time, was not very busy. Staff were super attentive and sweet. Definitely wanna go back there and try other dishes

Mediterranean fare, done right, in big portions, with great service and bustling energy. Key takeaways: 1. Labneh is my new favourite food group 2. The peppery green chimichurri served with the hummus was a nice surprise accenting a classic dish 3. The chicken schnitzel portion is so big, you could use it as a tarp. The beach is upping its food game, one pita at a time. Huzzah!

Spectacular service with fresh and large portions. We were a large party and our server was excellent with handling our group - even down to handling payments. I can always expect a consistently great meal whenever I dine here. An east-end gem!

This is an excellent place to stop for falafels and hummus. Falafels had the perfect squish-to-crunch ratio, and the flavour was superb. Pita was light and fluffy. Eggplant and pepper dish was fresh and healthy (unlike their baba ganoush which contains mayonnaise). The beets were tangy and well seasoned. Hummus, a small order of falafels, beets, and eggplant was too much for 2 people for lunch so we brought the rest home and enjoyed it the next day! Plus, they open the whole front of the restaurant up on nice days and it spills over onto their patio. Primo spot for summer day dining.

Fantastic Saturday afternoon ambience - Falafel is unanimously the must-try highlight along with the Freekeh Majadra side! They outshined the mains which were also great having tried the Lamb Kefta Kabob, Sea Bream, and Strip Steak. It gets very busy so you may have to wait at peak late afternoon hours.

I was torn on how to rate Limon. We had lunch on a Monday, based on a recommendation from family members who had had a great experience here previously. The food was terrific and the portion sizes were quite generous, however the service was very lacklustre. First, the food - the sandwiches were very large. The lamb kefta pita had two large kefta pieces on a big fluffy pita - delicious. The baba ghanouj and hummus were yummy - the hummus was sesame-forward, and beautifully presented. Extra pitas for dipping were served hot. The service - mediocre. As a party of 5, including one toddler, we were shown to a table for four. We had to grab a fifth chair on our own. We were never offered a booster seat for our toddler. It took a while for menus to arrive. Our server rarely checked in on us. I honestly couldn't figure if he was pretending not to be able to understand my father's accent as he asked to add the order of hummus and one pita, or if he truly could not understand (my father was being quite clear). Only when our server came to present us with the bill did he become friendly. Random side note - interestingly, the men's bathroom has a changing table, but the women's bathroom does not (a great way for moms to make sure that Dad is the one who has to change a stinky diaper).

Try this spot for a quick meal over St. Pattys weekend. Pictured is sea beam dish with a side of freekeh majadra. The fish was a little bland, felt like it wasn't preseasoned long enough. The side of. Of freekeh was truly amazing, with an excellent savory flavor profile, which I think is a must try side. my friend had the lamb Kefta kebab which was amazing. The service was prompt and attentive, great atmosphere for dates or family dinners.

Good food, friendly service, and the portion sizes for the cost is impressive. Good selection of different foods- something for everyone.

The store aesthetic caught our attention and the menu options made us stay! The waiter was very patient and funny, great service! The lamb kafta was a generous portion and the marinade and flavours were very good! The chicken shish kabob platter (not pictured) was HUGE and definitely can be shared between to people. The meat was SO juicy and nicely marinated. Would order this again. The patio is located on the street of Queen West so if you don't mind the sound of cars driving by and people on the sidewalk looking at your food as they walk by, the food is so worth to try!

Been here a few times and one of the best middle eastern restaurants in Toronto. I for sure enjoy it much more than Tabule! And to be right by the beaches, absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend getting a bunch of their house-made dips to start. Some must-orders are the humus (believe me, it's way better than any humus you've tasted short of going to the middle east), the labne is perfectly tart and creamy, and the babaganoush is creamy and smokey. The fried eggplant dip was also quite good with big chunks of eggplant, but I think I prefer the others. Order a few of their freshly baked pita to go with the dips and you almost have a meal on its own! For mains we've had the grilled whole sea bass, chicken schnitzel, grilled rainbow trout, lamb kefta (daily special), lamb kabobs (daily special). They are all delicious! I did find the lamb kefta slightly dry at the time, but the flavours were on point. Personally, their fish is absolutely killer. The grill it so that it has a crispy exterior with a moist interior. Each main comes with a side, definitely try the freekeh which according to google, is made of young, green grains of durum wheat. It has a nice texture and flavour to it, and even if you don't like rice, you'd enjoy this. The fries come out hot and crispy. The Limon Salad is a nice refreshing side. Steamed rice was a little plain, but I guess it's good for those looking for a simpler, less salty/greasy option. Drinks are reasonably priced with a good variety. Service is great, attentive, and very friendly. So glad this place is close to us, as we've already been a few times and have never been disappointed yet. A side note is that they only take reservations for tables of 5 or more.

Our server was so nice and friendly. We got the tabule salad with falafel, fried eggplant, and lamb grill. The salad is kind of a small portion but very tasty. The falafel was the perfect ratio of crispy to stuffing. However, they were mini falafels and I believe the regular order of falafels is bigger. The eggplant was the least enjoyable dish because it was so greasy and had no flavor to it. The lamb was cooked to perfection and so tender and flavorful. The grills are also served with veggies and rice. The portion size was perfect. We'd go back again and try some other hot mezzes.

The hummus was good, definitely above average for hummus, a very classic hummus. Also got some falafel which were also good. Not overly fried, good flavor and consistency to them. Paired well with some hot sauce. The lamb banadura was good too, the lamb itself was perhaps a bit dry and could've been more heavily spiced/seasoned, but the tomato garlic sauce in which it was served was absolutely delicious as were the heavily-seasoned tomatoes in the dish. Everything was well packaged for delivery and it was all pretty good.

Rice Pudding ($5.99). 6. Mouhalabieh ($5.99). 7. Meghli ($5.99). Obviously I didn't eat it all; I was bringing most of it home. The Beef Shawarma Pocket is ingenious since that alone was good for lunch. The Beef Shawarma was delicious! The ingredients for the Shawarma has changed to now use Top Sirloin and Lamb Fat. Lamb fat is tastier and more moist than Beef fat. The shrimps were perfectly grilled with accompanying sauces. The turmeric rice was fragrant and moist. The rice has 7 spices and cilantro in it. The Meghli dessert was an amazing dessert. It is tasty and refreshing. It is said to have very healthy and energetic properties; women who recently gave birth would eat it to revive their energy. It has aromatic rice pudding, cinnamon, caraway, and anise, topped with crunchy nuts. I will report about the other dishes when I try them at another time. There is adequate indoor seating (tables and counters) and outdoor seating (two small tables). The vibe is green and red, their restaurant colours. Paramount features Lebanese and Syrian cuisine. Do be prepared for a bit of a wait. We came on a Monday at noon and still waited 30 minutes. Lentil Soup Probably the biggest surprise for me. The soup has the perfect texture: silky but substantial. It's well-spiced and reminds me of South Asian flavors (rasam, to be specific). The accompanying bread and pickles were just the cherry on top! Cairo Classic I had low expectations for this dish, since it seems to be 90% beans. But once again, I was shocked by how flavorful everything was. It came with a single falafel, which may be one of the best falafels I've ever had. If I came back, I'd opt for the falafel dish over this one. The owner of the place, Maha, was also extremely pleasant going around tables and chatting with the customers. The restaurant space was a little tight, but it has a lot of character. It gives a very welcoming and homey feel. One minor gripe I have is that the utensils appear to be sealed or covered the wrong way. It was the ends of the spoon and fork that was covered with napkin and not the actual surfaces that come into contact with food. The ends of utensils that actually come in contact with the food and mouth just lie there directly on top of the dining table which is not the most sanitary. As for the food, the food serving size of the meal is great and is usually more than enough for a person. Ordering appetizers on top of the brunch meals will be good for only those that are heavy eaters. For food taste, I personally would rate it as OK to good. It was not bad, but just not something I would personally consider to rank as among my favorite breakfast fare. I enjoyed it more for the novelty of trying something different which is Egyptian food. The food was also a little on the pricey side. We (group of 2) came in at 5 minutes after 10 on a Sunday morning and were lucky enough to find seating (2 tables that can seat 4). When we finished and left at 11AM, there was already a long lineup outside.

The first course was Labneh with bread, hummus, & beef tartare. Second course was Lamb pide & pear salad. Third course was grilled branzino, middle eastern fried chicken, black truffle rice, and thrice cooked fries. Then there was dessert which was chocolate mousse cake & baklava. Because of my many food allergies the main server for our table was very attentive & specific in asking me what I wanted as modifications. For example I got a wagyu beef pide instead of the lamb. Every dish was really delicious, presented well & quite filling. I couldn't eat all of the food. Though I tried almost everything. Service: The pacing of the dishes was quite masterful. They really paid attention to when the food was going to come out. As I mentioned above the main server was very attentive to my food allergies. I really appreciated that as some restaurants aren't as attentive. The food was served family style so everyone could take what they wanted from the serving dishes. The dishes were served in little bowls along the tables with each bowl serving about 4 people. We had asked for one long table so it was a little snug. But we made it work. Ambiance: For dinner the lighting of the space is really dim. LOL. I would have appreciated just a little bit more light. The restaurant is in an old building so to use the washroom you had to go down two flights of stairs. The dining area is small also. But it's a pretty space. As mentioned above we asked for one long table to seat 15 people. I was expecting square tables but it was a bunch of small round tables pushed together. So the tables were really crowded with food from all the dishes. But the servers made sure to take empty serving dishes away as soon as possible. The music was a little loud for me so I had to yell to be heard. The place was packed though. Everyone at our table enjoyed the food, the service & atmosphere. The restaurant is close to Roy Thompson Hall & the other theatres nearby so it's a convenient location as well. It's too bad this place is only open for dinner. I would have loved to see how they would operate a lunch time service. In any case, Byblos was amazing. I would come back here again to try other dishes! Note: Some of my pics of the main dishes didn't turn out so it's mostly desserts that are pictures
