Where do I even start?? First of all, I don't have a choice to go here, and I've been here since kindergarten and in high school right now and wanted to inform parents on why your child would miserable here or heck, they could be fine with it which is rare. Elementary wasn't all that bad except for the pointless dress code that is supposed to teach the students to "dress properly" even though they are kindergarteners and can't retain things like that and if they learn they have to dress a certain way at such a young age, they will turn out to be blobs for the rest of their time here at Lincoln Charter and perhaps beyond that. The teachers, the material, and the whole atmosphere of elementary was not too bad. And then middle school comes along, and everyone starts groaning about all the nagging and nitpicking that comes from the staff which they claim as "helping you get ready for high school" which is nothing like how high school has been so far for me. And now comes one of the most dreaded systems in the entire school: The talon system. The talon system is not just something that the bad student's hate, everyone does. The talon system is where a student has a folder called a Talon Folder where they are given a certain number of "talons" which is 10 and if they make one little screw up, one little mistake, they lose a talon and if this happens multiple times, it adds up and can turn into more severe punishments as you lose more, it's stupid. And guess what? I have someone who has made entire google doc based on Martin Luther's 95 theses that's titled "Theses on why the Talon System is Flawed" and it's great (screenshots below). The new dress code is apparently supposed to more "lax and have more freedom" which is completely absurd considering that you can wear sweatpants, but you can only wear jeans on Fridays. And you can't have any logo "bigger than a credit card" which I don't get. I saw this girl the other day who got written up for wearing jeans on a Wednesday and she had to call her mom to bring her a change of clothes and which if I was the mother I would've been P I S S E D. And you remember the nice and ready-to-help teachers from elementary school and playgrounds and enjoyment itself? Yeah, well you don't get that from here on out. Now, you're stuck with staff who act like they are a better person than you and shame you for such a little mistake which means if you aren't on your point 24/7 365, you WILL get in trouble for stupid reasons. And I hate when parents fall for the "we're just trying to help out your son/daughter" line and tell their child to be better when it's mentally hard for them to be when they are constantly put down by these teachers and staff who think they're at the top of the food chain. So yeah, middle school sucks. I could go on but I would be typing for a while. Now, the golden age of your school experience, high school. High school isn't as bad as middle school right now as far what I've mentioned especially since the dreaded dress code policy and talon system are no more! Though you still can't wear anything inappropriate obviously and if you goof up one time it's just a straight write up. But, the teachers that I've had in high school are super chill (at least most of them) and let you go at your own pace and let you do everything which makes me more at ease with the work even when there is more work than middle school. The problem though is with your grades and how if you screw up freshman year, you got a lot of ground to make up (which is at a lot of schools). Well, that's about all I got and I guarantee I missed some things regarding the Lincoln Charter experience and the pros and cons and if I think of anything else, I will add it. 4th grade math teacher is the best. I like gym class Elementary Spanish teacher is the best too. I learned how to solve a rubix cube with this school. Byron,brooks,breylin,Mahid,mari and Jakob are the goats. But its school and I dont like the dress code. There are some strict teachers. read more

I agree with all the parents that talked about having male children that attend the school. But the most important thing to me was my child was literally mentally abused by his teacher, and the things that she did to him in kindergarten, she should not have even been teaching kindergartners. She couldn't handle parent night with 6 parents/no kids. She said she was going to have an anxiety attack and she was used to teaching highschoolers. If you can't handle six parents, how are you gonna handle 22 kindergartners? And her not being used to young children showed by the treatment, my son got for literally small things like tapping his pencil. Other staff members that were substitutes, came to me almost in tears, and when I begged them to go to the admin, they were scared to lose their jobs. The lady at the front Robyn, picks and chooses who she's nice to based on where they stand in society/financially and is just all around rude for the most part. My son also needed help with ADHD and other things in the school was not willing to do anything. Try to act like they couldn't when they can and if things don't go differently this year he will be pulled out. I would not recommend. Oh.. The fake niceness from a lot of the other staff, mostly admin doesn't help either. read more

Do not send your children to this school I have been at this school for more than 5 years and have found that the school does not resolve any issues that you have with teachers so that is why I would not recommend this school to any person I know. read more

I've gone to school here for more than 6 years now, i would not recommend this school. It does not even have a proper cafeteria and students are given way too much work here. I have been told by other students who have left charter that they were glad they moved and that they also wouldn't recommended coming to this school. Also the students here are not treated equal, many teachers give more appraisal and preference over others. For example in my class my teacher gave us a break, so i took my phone out and the teacher took it. I got very mad when i found out she was taking this to the principal especially since she lets the senors have their phones out. When or if you decide to tour the campus don't get fooled it is not what it seems. Although I think I should give credit to this school because it was great during elementary because they taught students early on things other public schools don't teach. As you progress through grades it just gets worse and worse. Also this school does not even offer many classes to choose from. As of 2017 you can only take one language - Spanish. Also instead of having 3 classes for half of the year then another 3 for the rest of year, like other normal public high schools, we have 6 classes the whole year which makes work a lot harder. To conclude this review, I beg every parent who is considering bringing their student here to refrain from that idea, to reconsider. Your son or daughter doesn't deserve this treatment, please again I beg DO NOT BRING THEM HERE. read more
