She also said if you toss a coin in the pond where the water flows from his keg, you were to come back here again. Unfortunately on the day I visited they had it closed. I gave a coin to my business partner and asked her to toss my coin when opens. Always interesting to learn the local culture and legends. it helps me learn more about them. Anyhow, I didn't get to toss my coin but I hope to come back to this beautiful Klagenfurt.

Lindwurmbrunnen means Dragon Fountain. The legend said a dragon terrorized the city before being slain by knights.... To commemorate this event, they created the statute? My German is not good enough to understand fully what the locals were saying when I visited here. I still don't understand why it is used as the emblem of the city. I think they were so brave to slain the dragon? Then shouldn't the knight be the emblem? If you ask locals where to go for sightseeing, this is the number one spot they all recommend. My lack of knowledge didn't help me fully appreciate the significance of this dragon nonetheless, I understood the Klagenfurter were brave to fight against the dragon.

It's definitely a hike to get up here, as it is a viewing area and one of the hugest points in the city. So you can get some good exercise and then be rewarded with a beautiful sight of Graz's cityscape. There's a lot to walk around and see up here, beyond the clock tower. The gorgeous flower gardens are right below, there's multiple viewing decks around the top, plenty of benches and places to sit and enjoy the quiet, a museum, a city citytop restaurant, and even a performing theater. Depending on the day and events happening, you could definitely spend an entire day up here doing a variety of activities. Much love, Graz.

Nice caffee on the top of it, with reasonable prices. Deffinitly worth the visit!

The only way to see the castle if you pay a guided tour. Which is not a problem but they dont tell you this when you huy the ticket so you are pretty much screwed. All of the inside is closed!!! They run tours every hour or so. They should articulate better that they only meaningful way to see the castle is via the tour.
