On a cross country road trip, in late July 2025, I happened to see the Lindy Hotel Cabins in Couldersport, Pennsylvania. (LINDY MOTEL 428 East Second Street Coudersport, Pa 16915 (814-274-0327) It was such a cute place I stopped and inquired about renting a place for the night. I was assigned to Cabin 8. That was the night of July 30. The cabins are adorable with porches and immediately-outside-the-door parking. There is playground equipment and Frisbee golf and a pen full of chickens; quite pleasant grounds. I usually have insomnia, and did, so I walked around outside a bit after dark, but tripped and fell. In the morning I had a few bumps and bites, and figured I'd fallen into poison ivy. Because the next day was rainy, I went to the desk and asked to stay another night. The young man said I could, but I'd have to move to Cabin 7 because #8 was reserved. Cabin 7 had two small bedrooms. I spent the day there because of the weather. On the morning of August1 I awoke unable to open my right eye, and was covered with dozens of swollen, red, itchy bumps and bites from my hairline to my hips. I got on the internet and easily determined that they were bedbug bites. I looked so horrendous I left avoiding all humans the best I could. I was driving and it took me several more days to get home. I contacted the Lindy Motel via their website and told them that their cabins were infested with bedbugs, and said I know it's not usually the hotel owners' fault when there are bedbugs, they are usually brought in in some guest's luggage. I said if they would refund even one night's fees as compensation for my misery, and if they'd take care of the bedbug problem, I'd be nice and not leave bad reviews. They might not have known about the infestation in the otherwise cute place. I sent several photos of my face, arms and other bitten-up places; iPhone photos include dates and the location the photos were taken. Two or three days later and accused me of trying to blackmail them and that they were going to contact "legal representation." I was merely trying to let them rectify their problem they may not have been aware of. But since, despite the photos, they denied the problem, threatened me with legal action, didn't offer to refund even one night NOR did they even apologize, I told them I was then going to write honest reviews with photos and would follow the steps Google laid out. Should you make the mistake I did and stay at the Lindy Motel, (DON'T!) here's what to do: {Steps to Take Document Everything: Take clear photos and videos of any suspected bedbugs or their signs, such as red bite marks, rusty stains on the mattress, or small dark spots. Inform the Hotel: Immediately report the problem to the front desk or hotel management. Contact the Local Health Department: The local health department is the primary authority for investigating pest infestations. You can find contact information for your county or city health department through the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) directory. Consider Legal Action: If you want to pursue further action or compensation, consider contacting a bed bug attorney for legal advice.} read more

Cozy cabins in Coudersport! My wife and spent a relaxing night at the Lindy Motel during a recent trip. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The owners are friendly and dedicated to their property. They are remodeling the cabins one at a time.. we stayed in one of the 'original' cabins, but they showed us one that they are finishing up; it will be beautiful. There is frisbee golf onsite and a fire pit near a stream in the back. The setting is beautiful. If you are expecting a Hilton experience, this is not your place, but if you want to stay in a clean, cozy place run by a friendly family at a unique location, the Lindy is for you.... Reasonably price and somewhat quaint are the redeeming qualities. Fairly cleaned but smelled musty. There are a fridge, a microwave and a coffee pot in the room, but no coffee and no cups. There was shampoo and shower wash but no soap for hands. Room is drafty and the heater is not enough to keep it warm. Bathroom has no heat and is very drafty. Maybe a better deal in summer. Other reviews mention how nice the owner is. It was not to us, quite despondent on the phone. The lady at check in was nice, though. I think next time we will try a different venue. read more

Another review based on what something IS compared to what it represents itself to be. Lindy Motel is a great little place to sleep when visiting northern PA for the natural beauty or when spending your days on the water or in the trees. We came for star and meteor gazing (the nearby Cherry Springs Park is one of the least light polluted locations east of the mighty Mississippi, making an ideal spot for staring up at a dark night sky) and my daughter found this great little motel. Composed of little duplex cabins built in the 1930's, it draws on ancestral memories of roadside motels in the age before interstate highways -- what my wife wistfully calls "little houses." Room rates are quite fair. The rooms are not fancy -- to describe it as having a TV, a mini-fridge, a window air conditioner, a coffee pot, two beds, a bathroom with walk in shower is accurate but makes it sound far fancier than it is. The holiday inn it is not. But it is quite comfortable and well maintained. The beds are firm and the room is clean and the hot water is hot. The grounds are welcoming, with a small playground and free roaming roosters (you can visit the lady hens at the coop.) And the surroundings are serene! I can't end this without stating just how wonderful the owner is. He kept the office open late to accommodate our delay due to traffic issues. And he graciously priority mailed an item to me that I left behind, and refused to let me pay even the postage. A true gentleman. We will be back next summer, and we will stay here! Such a gem of a place! If you're traveling through or to northern Pennsylvania, it's worth staying at the Lindy Motel. The rooms are very reasonably priced, and the owner is extremely friendly! Each room is a part of a cabin-like duplex. It offers the basics--a clean place to sleep and bathe, comfortable beds, a fridge, a television, and a window AC unit. The place is extremely charming, with an area for picnicking, chairs on the porches perfect for enjoying the evening air, and even chickens roaming around during the day. The area is known for its outdoor activities--especially the stargazing, hiking, hunting, and water recreation. It's nice to have a place to rest your head where you can feel safe, clean, and cared for! Will return! Highly recommend! read more

Rustic cabin style motel in Potter county (Gods country Pa). Very quiet and peacefull. There is a creek and a firepit on site. Nothing special which makes it special. The cabins have a small porch with seating there are also picnic tables. The owner has chickens that roam the property. My room had two queen sized beds and a chair. Plenty of room. Not the type of motel for all people. Plenty of parking and the rooms are smoke free. read more

Avoid. According to the owner -manager. The office is not open on Tuesdays and they take off Sundays.

Came up here to stargaze. The desk clerk was super friendly. The room is retro style which I love. My only issue was the noise coming from the room next door because the walls don't deaden the sound at all. read more
