We went after several rainy days and the entrance was muddy but the field was lined with straw and quite clean! Always call first as they have a few fields and we went to the first one and it was closed but signs gave directions to the next. I think because of the rain they had to move around!! They supply buckets but we brought our own! $13/bucket. You walk @1/8 mi to pick and they guide you to a separate area from anyone else! In about 5 ft of picking our bucket we're full!! read more

I've bought Lindy's Berries for years in Siren when I'm driving up to my cabin, but the the berry van wasn't out this year, so I had to find an alternate way to get the sweet, delicious strawberries. I went out on a Saturday morning to Lindy's Berries in Shell Lake and picked a bucket of my own strawberries. It was a very well run operation, with the owner telling us to each pick in our own row (on both sides) starting at a white flag. Once we were finished, we were to move the flag up to our last spot so the next person would know here to start. Buckets were only $10 for self pick (vs. $16 when you get them on the side of the road), and it was all you can eat while you pick! Bugs weren't bad while picking, but I'd recommend wearing long pants so that you can kneel on the ground and avoid squatting. read more
