$5.99 meal deal!
Sara L.

It has been a hot minute since I've been to this Lion's Choice and WOW was I impressed on this visit! I stopped in here on a lunch break and was pleased to learn that they now have "smaller" meals with a small fry and drink for a bit cheaper (because a value meal here is like $10). I ordered the smaller roast beef meal with extra seasoning. The dining are was spotless and all the condiments were filled and nicely organized. The service here was phenomenal!

Kings sandwich. Not a meal just had fries from a friend. Sandwich comes plain what I added are free condiments they have.

If you're looking for a good roast beef sandwich you're at the right place. Service is good as it comes out quick and the inside is nice and modern. The sandwich is super good and well worth the price. For a fast food sandwich it really hits the spot.

The food was very good; the menu must have changed because the food is very delicious not salty; savory and flavorful. The service was excellent; they were very attentive and accommodating. The ambiance was relaxed and calming; we will be back.

Workers hair in my food

Horrible, the customer service was okay, I had just ordered a roast beef cheddar and watched the employees prep customers food without gloves in the back. They don't wear hairnets either and someone's hair was in my sandwich Absolutely disgusting.

This is a king size fry at this lions choice

So when did not giving the right sizes become a thing here? I went got a king meal and was given this as fries. The kid I. The window when I asked said that corporate changed sizes. I asked when he rolled his eyes and said look, turned around and grabbed two of the same small bags and showed them saying that the one in his right was the small and the one in his left was the large I reminded him that I had ordered the king size he said yeah that's what it is now. Can we please get some training out here?

Roast beef fresh out of the pulverizer.

I know, what kind of a guy takes the time to review fast food. We pretty much know what we are getting when we go in, right? Well, I had a birthday coupon for a free regular sandwich so for lunch I decided to use it. I have had roast beef at Arby's and Hardees but never at Lion's Choice. I guess we don't always know what to expect. This is really not something I would get again. I posted a photo. Either they pulverize the beef instead of slicing or I happened to get a wad of crumbs that were cleaned up off the slicer. Well at least it was tender, but (close your eyes) can you taste that this is beef? I absolutely could not. All it tasted like was the seasoned salt (something like their version of Lawry's) that they shook on top in excess. I can't imagine a circumstance where this would be something I would eat on purpose. I suppose it is something that kids like. I also could recommend it to the toothless, since you can pretty much gum the sandwich. Aug 2015 - I know I said I would not order this again, but I got another free coupon and could not resist. It was at least as bad if not worse. This time the beef was very chewy, although still pulverized. It still had very little flavor and apparently no seasoning is applied when they roast it. They rely on a heavy dose of Lawry's-like salt on your sandwich. I like salt and this is way too harsh. I was astonished at the drive through line the entire time I was there and the place was packed. I guess it is the same people who eat the other St Louis delicacy, provel. I promise, there will be no more returns. Free coupons notwithstanding. I just had to be sure. I'm just warning out-of-towners.

Meat was way over done. Dry and flavorless. Visited shortly before noon and suspect it was left over from night before.

Our server Abby was amazing!!! She was so kind and helpful. Very patient with us. We were slow to choose what we wanted. Everything sounded so good. We settled on the clam chowder for an appetizer which we both just adored and the house ground meatloaf for our entrée which we shared. We each got a huge piece of meatloaf and some mashed potatoes and summer squash. There was a small plate splitting fee, which was absolutely appropriate. My wife and I agreed it's probably the best meatloaf we've ever had. Delicious!!! Abby was kind enough to gift us a piece of apple pie with the first taste of cinnamon ice cream either of us have ever had. It was made by a local creamery and was divine. We are still talking about that ice cream. The interior seems rustic, like an old Irish or English pub. So very cool. What a lovely experience and a total gem for anyone who lives in the area. We went next-door to the little store and bought a few things as well. We cannot wait to return to Annie Gunn's!

It was only 5:15 and fully packed as usual. When we asked for a table the next available was 9:30 and they put us in a waiting list. Guess what??? A cancellation came and we got a table at 5:30. If you've ever been there you know this place is always busy and always amazing! The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. Two bars! And several years ago the patio was enclosed as part of the restaurant and has a wall windows. Also, there are now rooms for big parties AND a room to have private parties and it is beautiful!!! So our waiter gave us a sample of a very good wine! Excellent. I ordered the french dip, which I've had several times. Tonight it was exceptionally delicious! Soft, yet crunch bread, cheese and amazingly tender beef, served with au jus and horse radish. Outstanding tonight! And fries also. But that french dip was THEE best ever. Gotta try it! I can't say enough!

Stevie was my server that night and she provided friendly top notch service. I ordered a spicy margarita for my cocktail. I was a little disappointed with the drink. It was very cucumber forward, had a nice heat, but lacked that signature lime flavor and tartness required of a good margarita. The brussel sprouts and cheese grits were a must try for me. The pork chop was the perfect entree to accompany these sides. The brussel sprouts were charred and crispy. The balsamic glaze paired nicely with the charred flavor. The pork chop is served in a very generous portion juicy and tender. The citrus sauce paired nicely with the pork. The cheese grits were creamy and delicious. All in all a delightful meal. The portions were generous enough for me to have hearty meal of leftovers the next day. The menu is fairly concise with burgers, pizza, pasta, sandwiches, beer/pork/chicken entrees, and salads. They have something for just about everyone. The appetizer menu offers loaded brussel sprouts with bacon balsamic and feta. This would have been too much to tackle by myself. I plan on bringing my friends next time to share this dish.

Bar service was great, table service was lacking. We started with a few drinks (margaritas) and they were quite good. For an app, we got the wings with firefly sauce, the sauce was really good and the wings were cooked perfect. For dinner, we had the filet mignon with potatoes and green beans as well as the creamy Cajun pasta. The filet was overcooked, but had really good flavor, the green beans with bacon were lackluster. The Cajun pasta was quite tasty, but it really lacked protein (only a few slices of a sausage and a few shrimp). We had the salted caramel bread pudding for dessert, it was good, but I probably wouldn't get it again. Overall, the experience was okay, food was good enough. Worth a try if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back.

You'd hardly know that it exists. It's weirdly anonymous in both its physical presence and its overall branding. You could drive by it for years and not know that it's there. I work nearby, and I was invited to tag along with a group of people from my job. I hardly know any of them, and we don't really work together. They may not have been able to put together a group of eight without inviting me. Hardly anyone actually shows up for work. I was more than happy to take advantage of the opportunity, and I got a chance to try a little bit of everything. Several appetizers were ordered, and people were putting on a front like they don't eat constantly, which, let's be honest, they'd have to. That just meant more for me. The deep fried deviled eggs were a revelation and obviously not anything I'd so much as imagine, let alone order. They're literally deviled eggs that have been breaded and deep fried and then served on a bed of deviled-egg filling, with bacon and raw jalapeno slices as garnish. They're brilliant, in a Billy Tuttle sort of way. If anyone knew who that was, they could probably license his name and likeness and do more business than have been. It's that kind of restaurant. Everything is unnecessarily large, like at the Cheesecake Factory. An appetizer called Duck Wings is apparently just that. Who even knew that ducks had wings? They're like weirdly large chicken wings, but not as good, but... uh, still pretty good. The pretzel sticks and the mozzarella sticks were just whatever. The mozzarella sticks are roughly the size of, uh, we're not gonna go there. But you don't get as many of them. Depending on the size of your party, you might have to split them in two. Same goes with the pretzels. If they were to give you more and just charge more than they're already charging, someone would probably assault the waitress on GP. This place carries a Farmhouse Burger, like the aforementioned Cheesecake Factory, so I was obligated to get one, morally, and for the sake of citizen food journalism. It's like a regular burger, but with bacon and an egg on it. It's not any of that smash burger BS. A smash burger is cool because it has crisp edges, but here's a little secret: you can also cook a much larger burger until it's crisp. And if it's thick enough (no Diddy), it might still be a little bit rare on the inside. Bonus! This burger was honestly much better than it had any right to be, given the overall vibe of this establishment, which seemed kinda dirty and run down. It reminded me of the burgers I used get at Culpeppers back before most attractive girls these days were even born. If they offered one with a compound cream cheese on it (just nod along like you have any what I'm talking about), I might have cried in front of my coworkers, and then I would have had to quit. Overall, I was both surprised and delighted by this place. I can't tell you that I'd be back, even if someone else was paying, but my one visit wasn't half bad.

For lunch, I ordered the combo with a Green Apple Cashew salad and the 1/2 World Traveler Reuben, made with house-smoked turkey, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, Thai Thousand Island, and black Russian pumpernickel. Both the salad and sandwich really hit the spot--fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. This was my eighth visit over the past three years, and I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal here. Even with the slight delay this time, the consistency in food quality and service keeps me coming back.
