I love Heritage Lake Park. We've biked and walked here more times than I can count…read more The main lake is pretty close by if you want to go down the hill and go for a stroll as well. My chitlins have loved this park for years because the bigger kid section is decent and then there is a toddler section separated by a sidewalk as well. My littlest one loves that the toddler section has monkey bars that he can reach and I must say this park helped him perfect the skill that he can now easily use on big kid parks and monkey bars. There's a variety of equipment ranging from three side by side slides and swings. The structure itself is mostly wood so something to be aware of and I recommend barefoot play. The park itself has lots of open green area for a nap in the sun, frisbee, or a picnic. Shade is limited here as well as seating so I like to bring a blanket. Be seeing you soon Heritage Lake Park!

We have gone a few times this year, early June and it was quite cold to the plus 30 degrees and have a great time each time. As on now there are no capacity limits or lines ups which was great when it is so hot. There is a concession on site as well so if you want a cool treat it is covered. Bathrooms are also on site so please of for the love of all things that are fun have your children use the washroom. We went when a (hopefully) child left a log and the staff were quick to close the park down, clean the deck and the water treated. Also there is a nice sized park right in the same area and picnic tables. Lots of places to sit or there is lots of grass to lay a blanket down. But double thumbs up to the staff that monitor the park, they are the real mvps.

There is also the snack shack and St Albert rec staff on hand at all times for first aid. Last summer we visited more than 20 spray/splash parks and this one still knocks it outta the park!

Many plants were still in bloom and the variety was stunning. It's such a lush and quiet beauty, I couldn't help but falling in love with it and dreaming of next summer's picnics there. I can't believe how meticulously this park is maintained. There's a lot of pride put into these gardens. I'm a little jealous of the perfection!

This is a volunteer-run botanic garden/park type thing; nothing huge or fancy like the UofA botanic…read moregardens further south, but in the spring and summer there are nicely labeled flowers and plants to enjoy, and there's a beautiful rose garden that must be lovely when they're all in bloom. During the winter there's not a lot to see, but starting from the botanic garden you can easily transition to the walking trail along the river, which will take you all the way along the river into St. Albert. There are little picnic benches along the trail also, so this is a great option if the weather's nice to bring a picnic or pick up some food from a local place - the trail will take you past a few, depending how far you want to go and in which direction. A good pandemic option when the weather's not too cold, and pleasant views.

There are signs identifying animals and trees throughout. You can forage highbush cranberries into fall (super juicy and plentiful right now). Watch out for gopher holes - I'd be nervous to twist my ankle if running but the kids loved "fishing" for gophers, lol. We caught a frog and hunted for caterpillars. It's a great spot with arching tree lined trails for fall photos, too. In the winter, they maintain the trails here! Might be the perfect place to try out snowshoeing locally! I can't wait to go back! PS there is parking and it's located 1 minute south on Poundmaker's Road just a few blocks after Sir Winston Churchill ends (St. Albert) and Sturgeon County begins.

It's easy to get to and away from the downtown activity and great for walkers and runners. There's the riverfront plaza and promenade where there are washrooms available. The Chinese garden is lovely and I have seen wedding parties take photos at this location. It's serene and a lovely walk on the trail beside the river. There can be a few runners but room for walkers and runners to share. You can also see the River Queen and I believe you can access it with a walk across the pedestrian bridge and then a short walk through the park on the other side. If you want to sit and relax, there are benches with the view of the river. One of the many great parks in Edmonton!

It was built a few years ago to fill in an empty concrete pad, and I think it's a fantastic improvement, both for gardeners and the public. Unlike other community gardens, which are designed with just the gardeners in mind, Peace Garden Park was intended to be a public park as well. There are a few benches, and a nice little fountain in the middle (it's not always running because it recycles water and sometimes runs dry between rainfalls). As a gardener, it's great to have this space so close to my apartment. I got a pretty good haul this year (despite a little theft, both human and not). It's super accessible and affordable ($20/yr for OCL members, and they have raised beds for people with mobility issues), although there is a lengthy waiting list.

This place is so serene and peaceful. So romantic, I have newly discovered this place because of someone I recently met who appreciates little things like nature and serenity. The place is so beautiful I can't help but get in a lovey dovey mood whenever I'm here. It's so quiet and it's the perfect place for a quiet evening with a date or loved one. Sometimes we have the entire park to ourselves and don't see any humans for hours. And that is just PERFECT! It's a hidden gem, so close to the city of st albert and even a closer drive from edmonton. There are some beautiful paths along the lake for romantic walks at sunset. You could easily spend an hour or two here and forget how life can get get so crazy. A perfect way to slow down and spend time with someone on a intimate level or just to enjoy the beautiful scenery on you're own. Either way. This place is my new to go date place, and I just love going here. My other half got me hooked on this place and we have been going three times a week. A perfect place for a picnic or a drink or a walk. And luckily if u run out of food and have the munchies. The greenhouse is across the street for a perfect glass of wine or snack to end the perfect night out. It's those little things that make you appreciate nature and all its beauty. This place is captivating and I can't help but fall in love here!

We've been playing soccer here all Spring…read more This park has a small playground with swings on the residential side along the residential crescent and then over the hill is the soccer fields and ball diamonds. This park also connects to an elementary school for even more playground fun. Great hill for sledding for preschool to early elementary age, too.
