Hanley doesnt exactly have a thriving nightclub scene, so this is about as good as it gets. Maybe i'm biased coming from manchester initially, but i found liquid to be a bit of a disappointment. Admittedly as i come to realise this is the best there is to offer, i;m starting to like it more! The door staff can be a bit, abrupt, as can the toilet staff as mentioned by another reviewer. Bar staff can be ok, but equally they can be rude and condescending if they decide they dont like you from what i've seen. There is also often a slightly uneasy atmosphere, which can be prmopted by literally a glance in the wrong direction. i do find the people in this place a little touchy! read more

Liquid is (As far as I know) the biggest club in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent and so it attracts everyone. Quite an eclectic mix, mostly. Mondays are student night in Hanley and Liquid offers cheap drinks, entry for students and a good selection of music that students, and non-students alike, should enjoy. I've found the music in both Envy (Top-floor, Indy, bit of Rock) and Liquid (Middle-floor, Dance and Floor-fillers, bit of Pop) to my taste, and JJ's (Bottom-floor) more Urban music, bass-lines etc. which I enjoy from time to time, but not constantly. In this sense, there is something for everyone who enjoys clubbing. Fair warning, some of the toilet attendants are er rather in your face? They do get your attention, put it that way. There is some seating to be had, but mostly I come here to dance. Don't come here expecting to be able to sit-down and chat. I've never seen any trouble kick-off inside, or outside of Liquid, despite a heavy security presence as mentioned above. On a Friday or Saturday, I suppose you might find it to be a dangerous area, but on a Monday night I have never seen any, let alone experienced any. So don't feel put off in that respect :) 4-stars. More seating required, toilets need re-doing and entry prices never seem to be the same whenever I go. Which would help me budget more carefully! read more

Large club located in Hanley, near to several other night spots. Not really miy cup of tea, and after spending the night in here at the request of my boyfriend, it has gone down in my estimation. The door staff were rude for no reason that i could see other than i was actually wearing clothes, unlike a lot fo the other clientele. The drinks were not that expensive but when they get your order wrong, and insist they haven't so you have to reorder and repay for them. Maybe it helps if you like this kind of environment, but not my idea of a fun night out. read more

Liqud is amazing it is by the shugermill. It has offers for students with nus and they have two room upstairs they have like pop and dance music and downstairs they call jumping jacks and it its rnb hip hop. They have podims upstairs and the dancefloor is really big. Downstairs they have areally big stage and the have comeptitions through out the night on their. Is a really fun night out and it is the centre of clubbing, take if from me it is packed all the time. They have guest djs and on a monday night is best to go. You can get a keyring that gets you money off on entry. The taxi rank to go home is just outside and altough its not in a very safe area is it has police and security always around. Liquid in hanley as absolutely fantastic, especially since its recent refurbishment. Entry is pretty much the same price as other clubs but the experience inside is far better by miles!!!! Im not a big fan of jjs as rnb isnt my thing however they do play cheesy classics at certain times and theyre always good for a laugh. My favourite rooms are envy and the main room as the music is always pumping and their is a great atmosphere all the time. The bar staff are friendly and most of them are pretty fit, trust me on that one woop woop. Ok drinks prices vary night to night, but mondays and sundays are dirt cheap - far better than other places that ive tried anyhoo. i would recomend this club to anyone who loves a good night out and a good dance, if nothing else its a great place to meet new friends x read more
