I read a ton of reviews from different sites before deciding to stay here, and here are all the cons people seem to complain about: 1. Too many steps. Yes, you'll need to carry your luggage up several flights. No, there is no elevator. This describes most guesthouses in Lisbon. It wasn't a problem for me. 2. Too loud. The room walls are thin, and sound carries. The guests are mostly very considerate of each other, and although my room was right on the main road, the sound was muffled enough to be fine. It wasn't completely silent at night, but it didn't trouble my sleep. 3. No AC. Not an issue for me in October, but I could see it being more of a problem in summer when you'd want to open your window, which would let in the sound. Also, no screens on the windows. 4. Smelly bathrooms. This was the only complaint I read that actually bothered me. There is an odd odor, even though the bathrooms are immaculately cleaned. It was unpleasant, but not a deal breaker for me. And everything else was great! Very friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, comfortable shared "living room" space, and a fabulous, central location. If be happy to stay here again.

Bad: The gym is small and doesn't offer a lot of variety. The food is so good in Portugal that exercise is a necessity (even with all the hills in Lisbon). The gym is also not open 24/7 as advertised. The door is closed and locked at night; and clients must go to the front desk to get someone to unlock the gym instead of being able to use their room key, which is the standard in most hotels. Good: Diogo and Daniela: What an AMAZING Team!!!! A concierge is a dedicated staff member who helps guests with various services. Their primary role is to save people time and make life easier by handling tasks like making reservations, arranging travel, securing event tickets, and providing personalized recommendations. Diogo and Daniela perform that duty better than anyone I have experienced in any country. The present a master class-level of service. I knew Lisbon would be an amazing experience; but Diogo and Daniela sealed the deal in stellar fashion!

Our stay here was literally and figuratively on a whole 'nother level. Our room was in one of their mezzanine rooms- so it felt like we were in like a mini townhouse since it was a 2 level room. One is greeted with a small foyer and then stairs that lead to the bathroom and then the topmost landing to the sleeping area. We loved how it felt like we weren't in a hotel. Upon the arrival to our bedroom, we were greeted with a nice amuse-bouche of Lisbon's quintessential dessert, pastel de nata and a souvenir of the iconic azulejos. The attention to detail is apparent in every corner. While the impeccable accommodations were stellar, there was some thing that made our stay inhospitable. Unfortunately, the people in the front desk left quite an unpalatable impression on us. Most would consider it wise to put a friendlier face at the front end of such an establishment. A welcoming face and an affable and understanding demeanor to weary and confused travelers would be a wonderful warm welcome!! However, this was not the case. The front desk people need some refresher course on their pleasantries and welcoming skills. Good thing this was not the first hotel we stayed upon arriving to the country!! We immediately wished that we had gone back to The Lumiares Hotel & Spa in Barrio Alto. Despite that place being busy and at the center of Barrio Alto, the staff there truly were hospitable and engaging; night and day difference compared to this one. I understand that the hotel could be busy but there's a difference with attentive staff on busy hours and just plain aloof. There were 2 gentleman and a lady who were in their desks. I observed all 3 of them sitting coldly in there while they were ent about their routine. There was another elderly couple standing with us when we were waiting for our turn to get checked in, and the guy on the other desk just sat there while his other colleagues were going about their work. Let's give him the benefit of a doubt... He could be busy or maybe not able to check any of us in, but one could argue that it's still not hard to provide some friendly support or maybe asked the other guests if there was anything that he could help with while we stand there. I mean offer the poor lady with a cane a chair perhaps while her poor husband was trying to coral their luggage's, the guy could've called a bellhop to help them. Regardless, the lady who checked us in was business as usual; all cold and quite unwelcoming that she couldn't even be bothered to try and work up a mere smile so she could appear acutely affable. After all, you are in the hospitality business and the face of the establishment being situated in the front. Thankfully, interacting with the front desk was a short one. Despite all that, I hate to highlight that debacle because the rest of the staff were wonderful! They were welcoming and friendly. Whenever we had our breakfasts, we were always pleasantly greeted. The servers and the kitchen staff were attentive. Despite being busy, they took their time to answer and explain some of our questions and sincerely asked us about our stay. Our server was delightful & genuinely curious about our trip and was kind to give us ideas and suggestions. We heard her have the same pleasant interactions with the other guests and impressively in other languages. Overall, besides our front desk fiasco, we still enjoyed our stay here. Fortunately, our interactions with the rest of the staff thankfully overshadowed the unpalatable experience we had with the front. I've stayed at boutique hotels before but this one is super 'boutique' wherein no two rooms are the same. Not sure how I feel about that. The hotel is located on the second floor and in between two shoe stores but they sent directions beforehand, so it was pretty clear how to enter the building. Here is some of the good and bad: Pros: -Breakfast is included and it's a pretty decent selection. They even have eggs made to order, and the eggs are super fresh -Free coffee/tea 24/7 -Towel warmers in the bathroom Cons: -We were located on the 6th floor, but the elevator only goes up to the 5th floor. Meaning we had to lug our luggage up and down the stairs. The elevators are also super cramped so if you're claustrophobic, it's definitely not for you -I think the rooms on the lower floors have been renovated because our room looked super old. I'm almost certain there might have been a few murders that went down in our room back in the day, because it just gives that vibe. There's a semi-hidden extra single bed, and some locked half doors in the room. Since it was the top floor, half the room had the slanted ceiling because of the roof -Since ours was an older room, we didn't have a rainfall shower -HUGE dead roach on ground floor of the building, which isn't really the hotels fault but you know if you see one in the building, there is bound to be some in the hotel. Luckily, we didn't come across any other ones, dead or alive The rooms on the booking website looked fine. My family's rooms looked more in line with what we saw online. Each bed gets its own plug point and mini shelf to keep items in. The location is really good, because it's right next to the Metro and many bus and tram lines. The hostel offers daily walking tours and a day trip to Sintra, and has events like nightly pub crawls, dinners (10 euros) several times a week - and free sangria every night. The free sangria is a great way to meet other travelers, and as a solo traveler staying here I was able to meet a bunch of other people through this daily event. The only slight downside to this hostel is that the bathrooms were occasionally less clean than I would have liked. I think part of this is due to the fact that they use a "cloth" towel system instead of paper towels, so surfaces tend to be wet all the time. Overall though, had a great experience in this hostel and will for sure be staying here again when I return to Lisbon.

The flat was on the top floor with a deck; there were construction workers that came INSIDE the apartment frightening a female in our party still in nightclothes, they also stuck hands through windows to plug in electrical power tools, they worked on the roof above us, dust and grout all over the deck making it unusable. We were there three nights, we experienced this on the second day and began taking with them that afternoon, let them speak with the laborers who said construction had been going on for four months. When we spoke with FLH at the end of the day they discussed options; we asked for $200 knocked off the $625 and no workers on our last full day; they refused and offered €100 (about $114). Here is their AirBnB response to us. "Feels Like Home Feels Like Home declined your request We are willing to refund as much as 100€, for the inconvenience of the deck. The construction works and noise are not the company's responsability so ultimately we cannot be held accountable for the fact that the building is being renovated." Horrible. This makes me want to pay nothing at all. We are working with AirBnB to have them removed from that platform.

The breakfast room feels like being in a private modern apartment. They serve continental breakfast and everything is fresh (no crappy orange juice that tastes like cardboard here, only freshly squeezed juice!). The room is classic design to renaissance look. I like the breakfast included in the hotel. Parking is free at outside. The palace hotel just across Queluz National Palace. This is their extension side of the palace. If you stay there, please be sure eat at their king kitchen. The meal selection can add entree with all you can eat dessert on King table. We love this deal. The table is set around the chimney of the kitchen. You can walk below chimney and look up the chimney. I would recommend the duck if you come to the king kitchen for dinner. The hotel breakfast is great. It has a lot of choices. You can look out your window to check if the palace already open to guess in the morning. So you will be the few first entry to the palace. I think this is ideal location to stay a night and visit the palace next morning.
