Because of the variety of pieces used, it's well worth a walk around the entire sculpture to take in all angles and see how it comes together. Unfortunately, I could not locate a plaque or additional information on artist and story, because I would love to know more about this piece. Regardless, it's a very interesting to look at!

Mountain sighed is a downtown Columbus public art mural located in the cities short north district…read more The piece is part of an art initiative in the area in which each alley/block has similar murals at the street front. This particular one resembles what looks like a colorful tunnel or rainbow done perhaps by a minor or child. Or perhaps it is a mountain considering the name of the mural. Overall was cool to discover the area. This pieces isn't as asthetislly pleasing as the others but it was still cool to come across while exploring the short north area.

This is a neat sculpture located in a small "parkette" in the middle of a neighborhood. It's a…read moremetal sculpture with two halves of different colors (mild versus stainless steel) designed by Craig Wedderspoon, and it is a nice contrast to the green space and plants. The artist's statement indicates that the mild steel was intended to rust over time as part of the art, and it certainly provides a striking effect.

Lucas sullivant sculpture located right off the banks of the Scioto mile in Columbus Ohio…read more While in town for my daughters cheer comp the family and I was checking out public art and came across this sculpture while looking at the nearby Scioto deer monuments. I was not familiar with the name but upon Google found out he was a founder of Columbus Ohio so that's a nice way to honor and tribute a pioneer of the area. Overall it's a rather large and well down piece and it is always fun to discover new public art that teaches you some History.

We don't have much, but what there is, reflects our heritage and history, including a few pieces situated throughout downtown. This particular sculpture is situated in front of COSI. At first glance it might look like a Native American, but it actually depicts Lucas Sullivant (1765-1823), the fouding father of Franklinton, which later became the city of Columbus. You'll find this statue in Genoa Park, along Washington Boulevard south of Broad Street. It shows Sulivant, a colonial surveyor, gazing out over the Scioto River opposite downtown Columbus, where he would eventually establish the capital of Ohio.

Rip Esselstyn. His Book? The Engine 2 Diet. Learn anything? Yeah I did. I have been slowly moving more to a plant based diet for several months, partly for health reasons and also because I know how animals are treated prior to slaughter. Which is disgusting and very disturbing. How was the seminar? After a slow start, it became very interesting. His mic didn't work as well as it should have and there were a lot of people there. A smaller, more intimate venue would have been much better. Still, very informative and interesting all in all. If you are thinking about going to a plant based diet, I'd definitely recommend getting more information about Rip and his book.
