I have very mixed feelings about this venue. So far, we've been here twice - once for a late night…read moredinner, the second time was for a (planned) breakfast with a group of people.
So, for starters - the venue itself is pretty cool. I like the ambience, the interior seems classy and discreet.
The service - I was served by the same waiter both times I was there, a young guy that seemed a bit lost but tried his best. At times, especially during the dinner, he seemed a bit annoying but he handled our 10 people strong group during the breakfast with ease.
But. The food and the experience itself.
The menu seems kind of complicated with a pamphlet and a couple of loose double-sided pages. The food is mixed with beverages and it's hard to actually find what you're interested in (it was kind of a hassle to order food, a drink and wine during our dinner and took way too much time.)
Our initial order was beef heart steaks and a hummus starter, a fresh collins, a whiskey sour (I asked to have the sugar removed all together because I like my sour, well, to be sour) and two glasses of red to be served together with the food.
After a couple of minutes the waiter comes out and informs me that they're out of hummus.
Um, okay. So after a quick glance at the menu, I ask for one of their burgers but with a majority of the ingriedients removed. He comes out again after a couple of minutes and informs me that they don't serve burgers anymore. Um, okay! Weird.
So I settle for their pastrami sandwich (27 pln, pretty okay but for that price I would have expected more pastrami and less aioli sauce). I also ordered a side of baked pommes chateau (10 pln).
First out are our drinks - the fresh collins was okay but the alcohol was barely noticeable.
My whiskey sour wasn't sour at all so I tell the waiter that I asked for the sugar to be removed, to which he replies "oh, all together? Because I asked them to use less".
Like um guy COME ON. If I ask to get a drink without sugar I don't need you to interpret it on your own. He wasn't thrilled when I asked him to give me another one in accordance to my wishes and neither was the bartender but it wasn't my fault.
The food was okay. The beef heart steaks were surprisingly good, the pommes chateau were also good, the pastrami sandwich was okay - definitely overpriced.
The overall experience was okay but nothing more than that.
As for the breakfast - I was the organizer of the event and had checked out their menu online beforehand. The menu looked promising and the attendees were excited - especially for Miłość's Shakshuka made with three eggs etc, etc. I was excited for their fried eggs with a side of hummus.
When we got there it turned out that they had managed to change their menu four days earlier. The shakshuka came in with just two slices of bread and some butter and it was so small the people who ordered it left somewhat hungry. I decided to order their scrambled eggs (supposedly made out of three eggs) but it was the smallest scrambled eggs I've seen in a long time.
Very, very disappointing. The people who decided to take the restaurant's brunch option for 25 pln were way better off, lots of fresh options to choose from including fresh fruits and berries.
The beverages were overpriced in relation to the food (7 pln for a small bottle of still water? 15 pln for a small cup of coffee? When my scrambled eggs cost 12?!) and the bill left a bad aftertaste.
The chia pudding (14 pln) came in looking really good with a nice fruit decoration and apparently, it was really good too (I didn't try it though).
Thankfully, the waiter made no fuss when it came to splitting the bill and everyone paying separately. But still, I'm very disappointed and if/when I come back here, it'll be to enjoy a glass of wine out on their Patio.
