A must see! Finally got to stop here while in the area for work. Our visit was a couple of weeks before Christmas and the church was already decorated. Free and open during the day to walk-in visitors. Peaceful. Calming. A great spot to reflect. Don't forget to drop a donation in the box or pick up a few souvenirs. Highly recommend. read more

Love it! This is where several family members and grandparents got married. This was amazing to see with my own eyes. We went in the evening and no one was in the church. It was nice to just sit and enjoy the peaceful and beautiful view. Parking with cross walk across from church l. Same location has a covered area on grass to enjoy a break or lunch. Bathrooms on right side of church underneath. Both men and women restroom were clean. Area in backyard with some statues. Located next to a museum. I was surprised when going through reviews that there were no reviews for the little brown church yet. This place is exactly as described little brown church. It's located 2 1/2 miles past the exit to Nashua. Just take the road you exit on through the town and it's on the outside of town. It's a beautiful little church with beautiful landscaping around it. This church is a destination wedding place in Iowa. It also has a regular Sunday worship and congregation. Inside you will find historical information about the church. I remember coming here for school on a field trip as a child and again in high school for a church field trip. There are no restrooms located inside the church because it was built pre-plumbing. If you go around to the back of the church there is an entrance where you can access restrooms. If you're ever in Nashua or even passing by on the highway this is the place you have to stop at least once in your life. It's the place that makes Nashua well known in Iowa. read more
