**I would give 4/5 stars if I was not gluten free** I was highly disappointed in this restaurant for their almost complete lack of gluten free options- in this day and age, most if not all restaurants have an option for gluten free pasta and pizza- to the point where I didn't even research beforehand because places are usually so accommodating. I ended up having an appetizer or two (salad-based), but could not eat any of the entrees. Gluten free people- do not come here unless you only want a salad-based appetizer or drink! & I would strongly recommend that the restaurant get a gluten free pasta and crust to have on hand.

I've had Little Coco's on my list for a while because of their happy hour deal, but we stopped in for Restaurant Week instead. We had the Coco's Meatballs, Ciabatta Tre Formaggi, Spicy Rigatoni Alla Vodka, and Coco's Chicken Parm. The dessert -- a deconstructed spumoni -- was the highlight of the meal. Everything else was good, but nothing really stood out. We were seated in the upstairs dining room, which was quite cold (we visited in mid-January). We appreciated the restaurant comping our dessert, though we did wait an unusually long time for it -- they were slammed during Restaurant Week and had some issues with a takeout order that needed to be remade.

Little Coco's is a cozy neighborhood Italian restaurant with a great HH. Their HH is M-F 5-7 pm and they offer bottomless drinks for $36. This deal also includes a serving of garlic bread, Caesar salad and meatballs for the table and $10 pizza. I had the meat and mushroom pizza and tiramisu and both are highly recommended. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

After a birthday massage at bluebell spa, my wife and I decided to go to Little Coco's for an impromptu date night. We did not have a reservation, but they were able to get us a seat outside and then moved us inside which was awesome. Very friendly staff. They do a great job taking care of their guest. My wife and I started with the Caesar salad and calamari. Typically, whenever I've had calamari, it's served with a dipping sauce but this one was tossed in a butter sauce. It was amazing. We then had the rigatoni and cacio e Pepe. The rigatoni was good but the pasta was al dente which I liked but my wife did not. We preferred the cacio e Pepe but what stole the show was the mt vasuvius. Best pizza I've had in a while. My wife love it. I highly recommend this spot.

great neighborhood spot - prices are reasonable, food overall is solid, service is friendly and it can be quick. tons of space inside and out to sit, and they have great deals/happy hours standout dishes were the calamari (great flavor, texture isn't perfect though) and the bolognese (perfectly cooked pasta, flavorful sauce that stuck). the pizza was decent especially at the price. the vodka rigatoni was ok, and would skip the caesar next time but will be back to try more dishes. had a cocktail as well that was nice. overall a touch lower pricepoint than other pasta places in dc but quality is still great

Went on a Sunday night and they were having a deal ($55 for 2 people and it came with SO MUCH food). We were a trio (a lot of people do the deal and order a pizza). Anyways, I went rogue and ordered the butternut squash ravioli. I was between that and the white pizza - our server put me at ease saying if I didn't like it they would make the pizza happen. I took a photo but it doesn't do it justice. Clean plate club for every dish. Also, ordered the tiramisu that came with a small unexpected scoop of chocolate gelato. The Law of Diminishing Returns does not apply to this place. Service with a smile genuine smiles. Everyone was super friendly. Ambiance is terrific. Cozy but not stuffy. All the art was pizza themed and I really appreciated that touch. Lights were dimmed for dinner and the booth was plush and comfy.

Super yummy pizza. We came for my friend's birthday and they gave us a free dessert. Champagne was delish and not super expensive. Nice local spot - small. Pizza is so good!!

I live 2 minutes from Little Cocos and I'm excited to have good Italian this close to me! We were able to be seated with no reservation on a Monday night. It definitely filled up later so could be a good idea to make one. I tried the basil gimlet which was delicious! My parents enjoyed their drinks as well. We started with Coco's meatballs which were tender and went really nicely with the creamy polenta. The tomato sauce is super rich and flavorful. We shared the meat and mushroom pizza and the goat cheese ravioli, which they change up seasonally. We had it with corn and pureed zucchini cream sauce. The pasta was fresh and the goat cheese had a really nice flavor! The pizza was great as well. Service was a little lacking. We had three different servers throughout our meal and it was a bit scattered as we didn't get any silverware prior to our app being served. Not a dealbreaker and I will be back to try more!

Super delicious food!! Please go here if you want fresh pasta and very relaxing vibes. We went on a Monday night where it was less crowded and good deals on the pizza and wine. The food was super flavorful and just hits the spot! Highly recommend the pasta and pizza!

Lobster omelette with arugula salad and potato pancake. Exceptional. Enjoyed every bite.

Ohhh emmm GEEEE. Soooo gooood!! Stopped in after the brunch rush today on a wintery dreary day. We had dodged the brunch crowd and were a little astonished to see the place nearly empty. We were greeted by "Doc" who seated us promptly and took care of us for an unforgettable hour or so in such a quaint, delightful spot. The food is absolutely divine. - Truffle artichoke bruschetta - I thought this was pretty good but not life changing. I did not taste much of the truffle essence although the quality was on point. - Lobster omelette with arugula salad and crispy potato pancake - totally awesome. Omelette was cooked to perfection with tasty chunks of lobster and seasoned perfectly, as were the accompanying salad and potato 'pancake' (really like a McD's has brown on steroids). - Spicy vodka rigatoni - Mind blowing. Best I have had anywhere and that is saying something. Spiced to absolute perfection and served HOT. Standout dish. - Vegetarian pizza - Excellent. We enjoy some of the best pizza in the country at home in SF so I'm a bit biased when it comes to pizza but this was solid. - Squid ink pasta - I ended up buying some to go and ate it just now for dinner. It was also flawless. All in all we absolutely loved this place and can't wait to return. We will, we assured our friendly server Doc who we bonded with by the end of the meal. Great food has a way of doing that - it brings us all together as humans. No small feat these days but Little Coco's pulls it off beautifully.

Came here with coworkers. Its a very unassuming place from the outside. But dont judge a book by its cover. Its some of the best neighborhood italian I have had in the city. Loved the chicken parm and the whipped ricotta. They also had good drinks.

    Kayla P.

My friends and I came here for brunch and bottomless drinks. Pros: - food: I got the chicken and waffles and it was delicious! The rest of the group also had positive reviews on their meals including the brunch pizza and the Italian baked eggs. - price: $19 bottomless, decent prices for food - decor: I think it's a cute place and I'd go back (if it was closer to me) to sit at the bar and order some pizza and drinks Cons: - service: it took a while to get refills for our drinks and we had to ask the bartender for a refill several times Overall I enjoyed it and would go back again if I find myself in this area of town again.

It's family-owned and operated, and you feel that warmth the moment you walk through the door. The staff are genuinely welcoming, happily accommodate substitutions and dietary restrictions, and often recite the nightly specials with a delightful mix of English and Italian--usually accompanied by a compliment about your outfit or your dinner companion that makes everyone smile. We had Christmas Eve dinner there this year, and it was every bit as memorable as we'd hoped. The portions are generous enough to share or take half home for lunch the next day. I especially recommend the Chicken Marsala, Chicken Piccata, and the classic mussels, all prepared beautifully. Don't overlook their neighboring pizzeria either--it's our go-to for both takeout and casual dining. Trattoria Da Lina is the kind of neighborhood restaurant every community wishes it had.

It's on the same block as a really nice Thai place and a nice Mediterranean spot as well. There weren't many people on a weekday night so we just walked in. Street parking is free after 7 PM. The star was the margharita pizza. And we also got a calzone, which was also really good. The texture of the crust and the little slight crunch and the sauce was really great. I wish there was more basil on the margarita pizza. There were three pieces of basil on the entire pie the pasta we got was the seafood pasta and it was a bit salty and portions are a bit small, but maybe that's the norm now? And we also got this other mushroom ravioli thing that is also pretty good but just really small. I think it was like five or six pieces of ravioli for $24. Service was fine. It was standard. The restaurant was a little bit hot during the heat wave. I wish it was a little cooler so with the four dishes altogether it was over $80 before tip for two people and we just had a little bit left over which is why I thought the value was more 3.5 than a four. That said, I'd still come back and get the margarita pizza and calzone - they're really quite good.

The front patio is cute and a nice spot to sit on a nice day. We entered the restaurant, pasted the bar and made our way to the back. We were pleasantly surprised with a nice outdoor feeling to dine at. We were immediately greeted by our waiter, given water and warm bread with olive oil. To kick off our meal everyone had different ideas of what they were craving so we went with three starters. PROSCIUTTO E MOZZARELLA for one. It that had the usual meat and cheese board with nuts, mini bread crackers and jam. I liked how pistachio pieces were found in the meats and cheese. [5/5] BEEF CARPACCIO which is a family favorite of ours was a must try. The tender slices of beef with arugula, with sliced capers and celery. It reminded us of our trips to Italy. [5/5] FRITTO MISTO came next. This mixed lite battered bowl of seafood goodness with a little spice delight. It had calamari, fish, shrimp, garlic, zucchini and chilies. I really liked how the batter was lite which says a lot because I love really crispy anything. [ 5/5] On to the main courses, we proceeded with different pasta noodle dishes. BUCATINI BOLOGNESE one of my favorite pasta noodles was my selection. The noodles were al dente and the sauce and meat were excellent. [5/5] PAPPARDELLE CINGHIALE was my husband's pick. The pappardelle noodles were al dente and nicely accompanied the meat with the tasty sauce. Topped with ricotta; the dish was full of flavor. [5/5] CHICKEN ALFREDO was the last pick. Not an authentic Italian dish; however, hats off to the chef for making this for our picky eater in the family. The sauce was creamy and delicious. Noodles were cooked perfectly. [5/5] Surprisingly we had just enough room for a sweet ending - an Affogato. Whoaza! The espresso was yummy; put some hair on our picky eater's chest. It had a hint of licorice flavor that was unique. Let's not forget the San Matteo Spritz. Smoky and highly enjoyable. I loved it and will order again when I return. Overall, San Matteo hit all the check boxes for our lovely family dinner. The staff were attentive and never left us wanting more water, food or waiting long. The food was tasty. It seems upscale with a casual feel. Some people were dressed for date night while others were having a casual meal with family or friends. The seating options of areas were all unique in its own way. Front patio for a nice day, from the front indoor dining area for maybe a more intimate feel, bar and table top area for a drink and appetizer going solo or with a friend; and lastly the back dining area for a a bigger group to enjoy your meal. Mixing up the dining options that suits you. I'll be back to try other dishes.

Heard the focaccia was a hit, so asked for some of that. I was told they didn't have any left. Which was weird, because then another server came and asked if I wanted bread. I'm glad I said yes because the focaccia is very fresh and was a great addition to the meal. For my main, I ordered the vodka pasta, which was very flavorful and very saucy. I love a good, thick vodka sauce and that's what you'll get here. The one part of the pasta I didn't really enjoy was the chicken inside the pasta. I think I would've preferred a grilled chicken option instead of the chicken that comes in the pasta. That being said, this place is a gem. The prices are great and the portions are hearty.
