Cute little "roadside" dinner in Vader. Slightly off the beaten path and full of locals who all seem to know each. First, the service was excellent, very friendly and efficient. My food (Prime Rib Hash), was perfection. My son enjoyed his French Toast, eggs and bacon, however, my husband didn't love his burger (more bun than actual burger), but he did eat it all up, so it wasn't awful either. Next time he will order the double. This cafe is definitely worth a quick drive off the interstate if your hungry, and if they have the hash, get it! YUM.

Little diner in Vader with great service and tasty food served in good portions for the price. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast served all day which is a definite plus! Had the Country Benedict and enjoyed every bite! If visiting would recommend coming prepared to make new friends as it is small and usually busy so pretty close quarters.

Where oh where do I start with this? Well, I can tell you that 5 stars is not enough stars for this restaurant. Yes, I'm from Seattle area and yes I am highly recommending, or maybe even strongly encouraging you to go to the cute little town of Vader, WA and eat at Little Crane. We always heard about how awesome it was from my father-in-law. So one time, during one of our trips to go visit our family, my father-in-law took us to eat breakfast at Little Crane. We were blown away at the way it felt like we were eating at grandmas house. A hearty, good 'ol fashioned breakfast was AMAZING!! Not only was the food amazing but everything about Little Crane was amazing, the customer service by all of the staff, the cleanliness of everything, the historic pictures and memorabilia on the walls is super cool. Even though the pandemic hit, and everyone had to figure out how to keep pushing through and keeping their business afloat, they did it. They had a tent set up , a gas heater to keep everyone warm, and it was all around a hometown feel that we received when we were there. And we don't even live there. We recently came down from Seattle to visit family again and we had the most important part of our trip set in stone. My daughter and I were counting down the days and she was counting down how long it would take to drive to Little Crane. Heck, we even planned out what we were going to eat. My daughter had Emma's special both days (also her Nana's fav) , I got chicken fried steak one day and French toast with a side of sausage. My husband and his Dad got the meat breakfast. Every single item was cooked to perfection, the hot cocoa was amazing, and the wait time for our meals, was minimal. So now that I am telling you about this hidden little gem in the cute little town of Vader, you must stop there if you are passing through. Thank you Little Crane staff for an amazing experience each and every time. (Just to add a little note to this, my family and I went and had breakfast at a restaurant in Bellevue the day after coming home, and I seriously regretted eating there because I ordered the same thing I did at Little Crane, and I would say it was a -5 stars. Yes, they actually owed me stars for eating there. Crazy huh? I'm sorry for eating breakfast out elsewhere Little Crane, it won't happen again)

Doesn't matter what the food might be like if the wait staff is just plain nasty to customers.

Your basic diner in the middle of nowhere. Food is mediocre and the service is friendly. Not a lot of options for vegetarians.

It took over an hour to get my food and it wasn't even crowded. The hash browns were burnt, and the whole thing was greasy. Yuck.

Nice and chill spot with a huge menu. Kid friendly in the restaurant area! We ordered the crispy onion chicken sandwich, chicken bacon ranch wrap, the pulled pork sandwich, and mandarin ginger chicken rice bowl. The chicken sandwich had a little bit of buffalo sauce and we agreed it was super good! 4.8/5! The chicken bacon ranch wrap was pretty good, not the best I've ever had but still a solid wrap! Lots of food and was able to take half of it home. 3.5/5. The pulled pork was pretty solid, 4/5. The least favorite was the rice bowl, not bad but also wasn't all that great, 2.5/5. We tried the huckleberry and raspberry lemonades. Both were decent but nothing to write home about. If I had to guess I would say it was Minute Maid lemonade with bar syrups. 3.5/5 Overall, definitely a sold spot for classic bar food! The people were nice and there was a decent amount of seating with lots of tables for more than 4 people. The menu was huge so I would be interested in stopping by again to try something else out!

Rambling Jacks Rib Eye - Our Always-Stop Spot on the Way to Seattle…read more We stopped in for a late breakfast on our drive to Seattle and, as usual, it did not disappoint. My husband ordered the cinnamon roll French toast and I went with the Ranch Hand scramble. We split both (highly recommend doing this if you can't decide), and the portions were so generous that more than half of my scramble came home with us. What's impressive is that with portions this big, you'd expect something to give on quality -- but not here. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere is part of what keeps us coming back. The restaurant has that cozy, rustic charm and there's a cute little gift shop up front that's impossible to walk past without browsing. This time we grabbed some Valentine's white chocolates to take on the road -- such a fun touch. This has become one of our must-stop traditions to and from Seattle, and it's consistently worth it every single time.

My previous review of The Quincy landed somewhere in the middle, which made Shelby's response stand out even more. She didn't just leave a quick public reply and move on. Shelby followed up with me directly via email, offered a sincere apology, and invited us back with a credit toward a future meal. A small business owner who genuinely listens to feedback and responds with that level of care and respect is something special. That alone made me want to give The Quincy another try. I'm very glad we did. We returned tonight and the experience was fantastic - honestly better than fantastic. The service was attentive from the moment we walked in. The dining room had that perfect Friday night energy: lively but comfortable. People were enjoying conversations and good food without the room ever feeling loud or chaotic. With our 5:00 pm reservation, everything felt smooth, relaxed, and welcoming. One thing that has always intrigued me about The Quincy is their rotating specials. They consistently offer creative options alongside a strong core menu. I tried one of the margarita specials and it was an absolute hit. If you're looking for a dependable menu favorite, I still highly recommend the white fish. This time I ordered the Mediterranean stuffed chicken and it was truly one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The vegetables were roasted perfectly, and the chicken was packed with flavor while still feeling balanced and fresh. My husband is a notoriously picky eater (tomatoes and spinach are usually a hard no), and even he was eyeing my plate and asking for a bite. My biggest takeaway now is this: yes, this is a well-run restaurant - but that's actually the least interesting part about it (and I mean that as the highest compliment). This time, the food felt thoughtfully prepared, the atmosphere is warm, and the owner clearly cares about feedback and community. That combination is rare. We're already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you for having us back!
