The first five years are especially crucial for physical, intellectual, and social-emotional development. Which is why they focus on teaching children how to learn and not just what to learn. The motto "learn something new every single day" has Stuck with my child who is in her elementary school's Gifted and Talented program along with so many of her classmates from Little Flowers. All staff are required to have a 4year degree in early childhood education. On top of that they are meticulously screened to ensure they contribute to the kind, loving, patient, caring, responsible, nurturing, and supportive environment that every child deserves and needs in their first years of development. They also manage to keep their teacher/student ratio low, further contributing to each child's needs for development. There's no wonder why they have a short waiting list for new children. They are always adding fun and interesting lessons to their curriculum. Special classes with outside instructors include visitors from the Gladys Porter Zoo, UTRGV Coastal Studies Lab, Robotics, Honey Bees, Rocketry, Airplanes, and many more subjects. The kids do not realize they are learning because it is so much fun! Miss Patty and her incredible staff have maintained a 4 star rating year after year! If you're not familiar with the Texas Rising Star program, it is a tri-level certification to encourage child care and early learning programs to attain progressively higher levels of quality. Children who attend schools with high ratings are in a better position to positively affect the physical, social-emotional, and cognitive development of children. Basically THE STATE OF TEXAS has deemed this business to far exceed the expectations of basic early childhood education and development. (Look it up, it's a big deal!) My baby girl is in 2nd grade and her teacher started talking to us about having her skip a grade next year. Me and my family are SUPER grateful to the teachers at Little Flowers for providing her with the tools that have helped and shaped her academics. She started kinder already reading and knowing how to write, the girls in the 4 year old class did an amazing job helping her master those skills. Even when she had a few days of separation anxiety the teachers were always comforting and supportive to both me and my baby girl. My first born and only daughter attends Little Flowers and I don't plan on removing her from here until it's time for Pre-K. My 2 year old is so smart thanks to the amazing staff. We do our best as parents to show her right from wrong and do our best to broaden her mind. The daycare does that for us so well that I have not questioned them once.
