I joke I never potty trained my child, he just came home from daycare and started doing it on his own!

I don't even know where to begin with this review--our family absolutely loved RMS, and we'll…read morealways be grateful for everything they provided for our son. He started there at age two after we moved him from a daycare that just wasn't the right fit. From the moment we switched, the difference was incredible. The level of care, attention, and the overall environment were a huge step up. The caregivers are exceptional--warm, engaged, and genuinely happy. It's clear they love what they do. At both drop-off and pickup, they greet you with smiles and take the time to share thoughtful updates about your child's day. And one detail that still amazes me: they do your child's laundry on-site. Game. Changer. I couldn't believe this when I heard it. The food at RMS is great, and we received frequent updates throughout the day, which made it so reassuring (and fun) to see how much our son was enjoying himself. He truly thrived at RMS. We would have happily stayed at RMS for years, but we ultimately moved our son to a preschool where his sister attends so we could have one dropoff/pickup. That said, RMS set an incredibly high bar--it will be hard, if not impossible, to match. For any RMS staff reading this - thank you, you are amazing and the impact you have on families is enormous. A few random but important notes: - They open at 7 am, which is a bit unique for daycares in the city (I believe most are 7:30), and allows for a slightly earlier drop off. Our son is an early riser so this was great. - You have free 30 min parking for pickup/dropoff in the parking lot. Loved this. - La Boulangerie is also in the first floor of the building so the occasional morning croissant and coffee was a nice perk.

The staff and teachers treat the children with kindness and respect and encourage them to grow their individual strengths at their own speed. Being at RMS has helped shape my daughter into an amazing little person. She has grown close friendships, learned to be patient, tackled practical life skills, and picked up academics with great speed. RMS also has an amazing community of families. The school actively nurtures connection between the parents by throwing multiple amazing events each year, like a huge pizza and ice cream party each summer and an annual Halloween party. I strongly recommend the school!

They claim to be a civil rights organization that protects…read moreand defends the Muslim community, but when you come to them bleeding for help with concrete evidence--police reports, body cam footage, and clear proof of civil rights violations by the Skokie Police Department--they completely abandon you. My wife is a Muslim, and our civil rights have been violated multiple times. We came to CAIR-Chicago for a bridge of help. Instead of acting immediately, they dragged their feet for literally 5 weeks, only to call us back and casually say, "Oh, we don't do these kinds of cases." Why take over a month to say that? Why build false hope while a family is suffering? This is a fake establishment that hoards community resources and publicity but provides zero actual help to the victims who need it most. They speak with deceptive, empty words. I hope Allah evaluates your actions and holds you accountable for the pain you cause families by abandoning them in their time of need. To the leadership and staff who run this place, remember the words of Allah in the Quran regarding those who claim righteousness but do the opposite: "And of the people are some who say, 'We believe in Allah and the Last Day,' but they are not believers. They [think to] deceive Allah and those who believe, but they deceive not except themselves and perceive [it] not." (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:8-9) And remember His warning to those who turn away from establishing justice and helping the wronged: "O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives." (Surah An-Nisa, 4:135) Shame on you for your five weeks of silence and your ultimate betrayal of a family seeking justice. Allah is the ultimate judge, and He sees exactly what you do behind your closed doors.

With one and soon to be two kids at RC4, we have only positive things to say about this daycare…read more The lead teachers/caregivers are uniformly excellent and well prepared - our daughter has loved each of them as she's grown up there. The rooms are well maintained and well stocked with appropriate toys/activities as is the small playground. The building is clean and functional but not super fancy, as you would expect from being an extension of a community church, but all perfectly appropriate for a daycare. Like most child care in Chicago the price is high but very competitive compared to other facilities in the area. We also love how plugged into the community RC4 is, specifically the weekly farmers market in their parking lot in the summer. Our only quibble is with some of the sick policies that can be more restrictive than the recommendations of local health authorities, but this is a relatively infrequent annoyance. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a daycare!

We left Luna this past summer after a little over 2 years. Overall, the experience was fine. I had…read more2 kids at the center, one who was 3 months old at the time he started and the other who was just shy of 3 years old when he started. We had one incident with my youngest child almost immediately after he started with another older child. Turns out my youngest was with older children who were crawling and more mobile, which I wasn't super thrilled about considering he was just 3 months old. Generally, centers have the very young babies completely separated. That appeared to not be the case at Luna. While I wasn't thrilled with the setup, Leah, the facility's owner, was super responsive and took steps to address what happened. Nothing ever happened again. Then, about 4 months prior to when we left, my oldest son, who can speak exceptionally well for his age raised an issue with us, and I was disappointed in the overall handling of it because we never had a chance to discuss face-to-face. I felt dismissed. The other major issue for me, which may not be an issue for another parent, is that my oldest son stopped napping completely at around 4ish and the center continued to make him nap based on what he would tell me. I asked at least 3 or 4 times that they let him do quiet time as he was pretty good at it at home, and they still tried to make him nap. Leah assured me that was no problem, yet it continued. At one point, my son reported that a teacher told him he was "bad" if he didn't sleep. The days he napped were not great for us at home as he would take hours to fall asleep, wake early or wake during the night. He flat out refused to nap every so often. I get it - they need a break, other kids are napping, etc, but the center goes to age 6 and most kids stop napping at 3 or 4. My son napped longer than average honestly, and I didn't think it was fair they continued to mandate that even after he turned 5. My oldest son also watched a fair amount of cartoons at the center - it sounds like it was mainly during a mealtime and perhaps during days he did not nap, but I remember him coming home talking about Paw Patrol, and he never watched it at home or anywhere else prior to that time. He also described watching things on a teacher's phone so it didn't sound like a uniform viewing and could have been at random times. I'm not opposed to screentime, but during the tour and in all the paperwork, screentime wasn't discussed. I would have appreciated the center being more upfront about that, and I was not thrilled with random phone watching of random things. No daycare is perfect, and overall my kids did fine here, but I think the communication and follow-through could have been much better. My son is now in Kindergarten, and we moved my oldest to a Montessori school that we like a lot better.

I would recommend them to anyone, friend, family, or stranger. The staff are professional, yet fun, patient yet firm. The cleaning standards were amazing BEFORE the pandemic and have only gotten better since. The turn over rate of the staff is extremely low and the retention of the kids is high. My son started here at 14 weeks and stayed until he left to start school. I never considered looking for a new daycare and was extremely grateful for for the staff for the time they put into helping raise my son. Because that's what they did. Thank you!
