This is located in what appears to be a newer housing development dead-end located at the end of it. It is still in nice condition and is a white colored exterior with a tan/wood door. Unfortunately during our particular day of visiting nothing caught our eyes for books we wanted to trade for. Just due to location as well I am unsure how much turn over the books have in this particular little library as it is located at the end of a dead end but maybe I am wrong and close locals swap books often. The majority of books during our stop were pregnancy books including some about pregnancy diet, book about your babies first word, and what to expect when you're expecting. So based on that currently would be a great one to check out for soon to be parents. At the same time they had quite a few children's books as well such as pokemon cook book and the all time classic The Very Hungry Caterpillar and an unknown to me Goodnight Owl. They did also have a smaller selection of non-pregnancy and kid books just nothing that jumped out to us. If you find yourself nearby though check it out, maybe your next read will be inside.

It's a single shelf little library but despite that it had almost two books deep for the entire shelf. The only exception was a small space that had a tupperware with dog biscuits in it. What a nice surprise for those who may be walking their dog while stopping to grab or leave a book. This particular library during our visit did have a much larger supply of adult reads. I don't recall any children's books during our visit. That could vary by the time you visit though. My wife left behind a book in exchange for one other book. With fall and Halloween coming up she left a book with series of spooky stories so hopefully that makes someone happy for the upcoming season/holiday. She ended up grabbing the book "Unbound" that appears to be listed as a historical romance novel. Besides that the book that caught my eye (did not take it though) was a memoir of Piper Kerman. Which if that name does not sound familiar it is the woman behind the inspiration for the show Orange Is The New Black. In the end this library was very full for being located where it is at and seemed to have a decent variety. Check it out!

Inside the library, a single shelf well stuffed with books and a tin that contains dog treats. Neat! A variety of books including reference, cookbooks, travel and more. Interesting collection. After the rain cleared on this Sunday we hit the road hopeful to find a new book and leave some in hopes others will find them in the future. Like I said this was the first we visited of six total today. This was by far the most well stocked of all we visited. It had two shelves with the bottom being mostly children's/younger reads and the top being more adult books. Despite only two shelves most of the books were two deep with lots of options. They even have a stepping box so the younger folks can reach their bottom shelf. They even had a large variety of younger books including an interactive bubble pop book you'll see in my photos about penguins. On the top shelf they had lots of variety as well including two Harry Potter books, sisterhood of the traveling pants for commonly known titles amongst lessen known books as well. The only downside was it appears from a note left they have experienced vandalizing lately. This particular library has been here since 2013 and I would assume has had many visitors over that time so hopefully those responsible for emptying the library stop. Thankfully during our visit it seemed very well stocked and well maintained. A definite visit for those who enjoy visiting little libraries due to its great variety!

Completely full of paperbacks, I was able to add a few from my own collection as I'm thinning out my library. Thrillers, children's books, self-help, fiction. A good assortment of reading. This does have an official Little Free Library charter # but it may no longer apply as it does not show up anymore in the directory. In general, these are the perfect thing for those who love to read! You can take the books you have either read and loved or not interested in and grabbing a different book in its place. This one does not have the largest amount of space for books with two shelves and one spot to the side that can fit around 4 or 5 standing up. They had one science/animal-based book that caught my eye, and my wife grabbed a couple thrillers that appeared to be worth swapping with an old book. Besides those they did have a couple children's books, detective books, cookbook, fantasy, and historical fiction. I will say despite its small size it could have had more inside. Another one we will continue to keep an eye on the books available to swap around.

It's not listed on the Little Free Library Box. Dark green with a black wood roof, the library stands on two posts and has a single flip-down door that is secured by a simple eye catch. Inside, two shelves of neatly stacked books. Some of them don't quite fit upright. Mostly hardcovers today and a variety of topics including fiction, reference, self-help and thrillers. So multiple potential ways to give to people, through reading or clothes. We drive by here quite frequently and during our recent visit I was actually shocked by how many books were inside. It has two shelves and the bottom shelf was actually filled with two rows. Naturally due to the vicinity of the church it does have a significant amount of religious themed books so great for those who are interested in that topic. It did seem to be a variety of religions though as it even had two copies of a children's book titled "My First Menorah". Besides those it still seemed to be a large variety of genres which is great, gives everyone a chance to find their favorite next read. To name a few, they had some self-help guide book for couples, war novels, Disney and other children's books as well as a thriller my wife grabbed. It's from the acclaimed author of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" with the title being "The Girl Who Played with Fire". Also most notable in a unique/odd sense was it appears someone left a DVD of a pilates workout. Certainly my first time seeing that in any of the little libraries. So readers (or fans of Pilates...) go out and leave a book and/or take a book (or DVD...) and enjoy your next read (or workout...)!

This particular community book box/little free library is located in the North Deering area of…read morePortland. More precisely it is found on the corner where Maplewood St meets Abbot St. It did not have any signs of being registered as an official little library but was still quite full so people are swapping books here. It is painted a nice dark green and has two shelves to hold the books. The particular day we were at this little library they did not have any books of interest to my wife during our quick stop. They had a small amount of thinner; I assume children's books as well as some comic strip books even. Otherwise they appeared to have some novels in a few example genres such as; romance, memoirs, and a standout for uniqueness to me was a novel featuring Jeff Probst (host of TV show Survivor) as co-author. Like I said no books that caught our eyes this time but maybe next visit that will change.

Either start here and afterwards visit nearby coffee spot Coveside Coffee that conveniently has another free library. So grab that morning beverage before checking out two nearby free libraries. During our recent visit to this particular little free library did not have anything that great at the time. I will say this one does have a little man sitting on the fake house chimney that is a nice decorative touch. This particular day they had a variety of styles of books such as child book, cookbook, mysteries, political, memoir to name a few. Like I said, despite this variety nothing caught me or my wife's eyes. We will continue to check this when we are around the area though!

This particular little library was named Wonderland along with its charter number. It's the typical…read morebook box but this one is placed in a planter and a sticker on it that says "Welcome to Wonderland". Along the border of the front also has little cute paintings of some plants and even some characters like the Cheshire Cat along with text that says Take A Book on top and Leave a Book on bottom. This nice yet small additions definitely give that extra touch to make it more memorable and would make kids enjoy it just a little more. Which is fitting as the particular day we visited they had lots of children books. Multiple different Sesame Street learning books, a first sensory book, and even a finger puppet book. While this little libraries can vary a lot depending when you visit, from the looks this is a perfect one to bring your kids to grab a new book and leave a book for another kid. They did have non-kid books as well. Which actually, my wife was shocked to have found The Housemaid. This has been a popular book and was on her list of books she wanted to read and was super excited to have found it in the little library. In place of it she left behind The Girl Who Was Taken and hopefully someone can have the same excitement when they discover this book! Like I said the little added touches along with the good variety for all ages make this a great little library to check out for the entire family!

Tonight was the third time my wife and I have stopped at this newest little free library that we…read morehave come across. The books have varied all three times as you can see from the variance in my photos with the dates. The first time we visited they didn't even have their little plaque. It is now there and this is actually in memory of a dog named Joan who according to the plaque who loved to eat, fart and cuddle. What a wonderful way to memorialize your loved pet and also spread the joy of sharing your next book! Overall despite the vast difference in books from all our visits we have not swapped for any books from this particular little library yet. I do view it as a positive the books have changed quite a lot over our visits because it means the community is utilizing it. Especially this most recent stop it did seem to have a lot of older books. Despite this we will continue to check and maybe next time we will be lucky and find that next must read. One book of note we did notice this most recent stop, that you can see in photos. That being The Glass Cell that is a novel about a man who suffered in prison for a crime that he didn't commit per the back of the book. While not our cup of tea maybe it'll be someone else's new favorite. Another time we stopped here, someone had left some Tales From Shakespeare book. Lastly, this is located where you can safely enough pull over to the side and check it out. Also another positive, while we have not checked it out, it is located by the Chinese restaurant Fortune Garden. So if you are looking for some takeout and your next book to read check this out!
