Caveat, please, my opinion, I would not pay attention to past reviews, but I can tell you this past Sunday Father's Day. We had a great experience at Little Germany. First time to the new location. We went Sunday for Father's Day. We were immediately greeted by a very happy and intelligent young lady, which seated us properly. It was sparsely decorated with a German theme. One employee was wearing a ladies German outfit. The others employees were wearing black T-shirt, and black jeans. But You dont go there for the ambience. You definitely go there for the food and the food was absolutely wonderful. They do have German beers and a wine list, but not extensive. We ordered the potato pancakes as an appetizer, it was served with sour cream and applesauce. Melissa was our waitress and she had great knowledge of the menu and explaining the different types of sausages and cutlets. The restrooms and the restaurant was extremely clean and very friendly. My husband ordered the beef steak with grilled onions. It came with a mushroom brown gravy. read more

Charming restaurant. It's not a slick, modern place, but it's casual and fun. Our server was so kind and attentive - he did a wonderful job. The menu is definitely German food and the Combination Plate was a great way to sample things if you're unfamiliar. Portions were generous. I love German restaurants and I love this place, cannot recommend it enough. It's sooo hard to find good German restaurants anymore, so this is a jewel in Fort Worth. Pleasant German folk music, Amy was our waitress and I can't say enough good things about her and her suggestions. Food was really grim. Spaetzle was flavorless, potatoes under seasoned, vegetable soup not good, chicken was edible. Tablecloths were beyond worn out and not the cleanest. While on a business trip in the Fort Worth area, I discovered this gem near my hotel. Who doesn't like sauerkraut, sausages, and schnitzel. I was really excited to come to this restaurant to try it out. Once my coworker and I walked in, we were immediately greeted by one of the waitresses as well as German folk music blaring through the speaker in the front. At least that set the tone and mood. I knew I was in a German restaurant. The menu was pretty extensive and had many things to choose from. We ended up getting the Six Sausage Platter and Potato Pancake appetizers to share. I ordered the Combination Platter and my coworker got the Ribeye steak. It was kind of a mistake to order the appetizers, not because they were not tasty but because it was so much food. OMG. The Six Sausage Platter was a meal in itself. Delicious would just be an understatement. The sausages were cut into small pieces and came with mustard dipping sauce. The Potato Pancakes came with apple sauce and sour cream. For my Combination Platter, it included a Jager schnitzel, Vienna Schnitzel, and the Munchen style sausage with red cabbage, sauerkraut, pan fried potatoes, spatzle, and gravy. Everything was just so tasty. But this platter was huge! A normal person would not be able to finish it. It didn't help that we had the 2 large appetizers too that we didn't finish. Needless to say, I had leftovers that I took back to the hotel. It was nice to be able to eat somewhere in Texas that wasn't just barbecue. I've read many good things about this place so, when the opportunity arose to meet here. I took advantage. It was a Thursday afternoon. My friend and I had the place to ourselves, except for one other couple and one large to go order. It's well lite inside, the temperature is fine and it's nice and quiet. I've been looking for a place like this for a long time! I ordered the German Potato Cakes. They were crispy, chewy and a little sweet. They came with a side of Sour Cream and Apple Sauce, no thanks. The Potato Cakes were good, just the way they are made. No need to add anything. For dessert we had the Apple Strudel. It's a large portion of Apple Pie and Apple Cobbler mixed together, made from scratch with Ice cream on top and a sprinkle of Powdered Sugar. Yum. The reviews were right. Little Germany lives up to the hype. I will return. The next time I go, I'm going for the German Chocolate Cake! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. The restaurant was interesting, to say the least--bright, bold colors that felt completely off for a "German" aesthetic. The food was barely edible. The sauerbraten was overwhelmingly sour and downright nasty; I took two bites and couldn't continue. The steak wasn't properly cleaned and was full of tough membrane. The potato dumplings were so dense you couldn't cut them with a knife without serious effort, and the cabbage was somehow worse than prison food. The best thing we had was the Lipton iced tea. To make matters worse, we were overcharged by $10 because the waiter couldn't do basic math. $14 + $16 + $3 does not equal $46. That alone made us feel robbed. The only redeeming part of the experience was the laughter my boyfriend and I shared through clenched teeth while trying not to throw up. read more

We went for dinner today. It wasn't busy. It was clean and the staff was very nice. However sadly the food was very plain. It lacked flavor. It wasn't bad just very underwhelming. I had the the Jaġer schnitzel with mashed potato's and mixed veggies. Hubby had the Hungarian style goulash. The best part of my dinner was the salad, which was just lettuce and a very few slices of cabbage with a few croutons and the onion gravy served on the side. As an appetizer we got the cheese fondue. It did have two pieces of mushrooms in it but other than the mushrooms it was completely tasteless. The bread served with it wasn't t bad and it was a generous amount. My mashed potatoes were tasteless and the veggies tasted like frozen veggies. The goulash also lacked flavor no seasoning whatsoever. I would not recommend it . 3 stars is an average of the food items. And the prices are low which is why I give 3 stars. Potato soup was delicious (but not the puréed type I'm accustomed to). Warm potato salad was not that but instead cooked potato mess with too much vinegar. And the spätzle - the thing that should make the drive worth it - was terrible. A beloved German menu item and I couldn't eat it, in part because of its weird translucent look. This was our first time to try the Camp Bowie location. There were a lot of very high points, and a few of the low points. Low points... we asked for a small bowl of a few noodles. $15.00 for an adult helping of spaghetti on the kids menu seemed a bit much. They cut it in 1/2 and cut the price in 1/2, but that will be about 6 days of food for my kid (see photos). We were appreciative the owner came from behind the stove to make this right. There was no music or ambiance at all, just a few beer steins and tchotchkes. We were early for the dinner rush (5pm), but no one else was in the restaurant. High points: This building is clearly an old diner, and the new owners run it like one! Lots of food, huge portions, mastery of the deep fryer, and highly efficient! The waitress was very nice, and the owners/ cooks are the former cooks of the German restaurant up the street... so I have been eating her food for years!! The potato pancakes were thin, crisp and on point! Apple sauce and sour cream made them yummy! The turkey cordon bleu was fantastic! The inside cheese was melty without running all out, and the "football cheese" on the outside was delicious! The combo platter had two cutlets, one pork and one chicken. Honestly, it was VERY VERY hard to tell the difference. Once you added the mushroom gravy, they were indistinguishable. The apple streusel was not what I expected, but came out piping hot, and we were offered ice cream. My nephew's in town to help with our move, and he's a big fan of German food, so this fit the bill perfectly after a long day. I've been craving fried shrimp and even though my heart said, "Shrimp aren't really a German delicacy," the taste buds said, "Go for it!" I'm glad the taste buds won because these shrimp were incredible! You could tell they weren't just some reheated Gorton's shrimp. Hand breaded and delicious. For their German food, the potato pancakes were crispy and light, the sausages were tasty and more than plentiful, and the nephew raved about the dish he had which was something with eggs and German bologna. The restaurant reminded me of an older diner with tight booths and regular table seating. They had a large alumni type party in there at the same time and there was zero problems with service. So it looks like 2023 is finally the year I checked out Little Germany after telling myself I would for god knows how long. Nestled in the shell of an old Denny's, Little Germany is a great little spot for some German food. We were immediately sat as, given this was an old Denny's, there are plenty of comfy booths, so seating isn't a problem here. Little Germany's menu features all your favorites from the old country, be it sausage plates, several types of schnitzel, goulash, dishes with spaetzle, and plenty of German beer of course. The friendly staff will also remind you that you can substitute most anything you want, so you have plenty of choices. But where to begin? We started the lunch with some fried mushrooms and a couple of 240z Warsteiners. These mushrooms were massive! After we tried in vain to finish off the plate, our food had arrived. The German Style-Jaeger Schnitzel I ordered did not disappoint as the pork schnitzel was tender and delicious. Runner-up surprisingly was the red cabbage. I've never been a fan of this Bavarian mainstay, but at Little Germany, it's quite good! Along with everything else, I gobbled it up. So I would say its definitely nice to have Little Germany here on the west side. With local culinary landmark Edelweiss losing their lease, Little Germany's move here from Henderson ensures that there will always be a great place to get some schnitzel in Fort Worth. read more

I visited with my older parents a couple weeks back. We were waited on by an older gentleman who was helpful and kind, even if he moved a little slower than a young person might. The food was very good--maybe not incredible, but definitely enjoyable, and the portions were quite hearty. I do feel it was a good value for your $ with portion sizes. I had a schnitzel and spatzel and it was a 4/5 experience--hey, 80% isn't bad--that's a B in school! The atmosphere was definitely re-purposed Denny's! It had seen little in terms of updates or upgrades, still having the same old-school booths looking pretty worn and tired...but not every restaurant has to be fancy! If you're quite hungry, craving German flavors, and don't mind a more affordable and less pretentious restaurant, this is your spot. read more

German food goes under a microscope at our house; my mother in law is Austrian and my wife lived there for many years. So, when I tell you that the food was very good, it was very good. Like most truly authentic German places, the attention goes into the food and not the surroundings which is why I gave it 4 stars and not 5. HUGE portions. Loved our evening at Little Germany. As I recall, this business opened after Eidelweiss closed. When we tried it way back then it just didn't meet my hopes for German food. But now, sausage, hot potato salad, kraut, red cabbage, all my faves! Yummy!! I'm certain there has been significant change and the food is as good, if not better than our beloved Eidelweiss, it just doesn't have Bernd Schnerzinger, Mikey and Helga. Great tending service, my ea was never empty! Delicious Knackwurst sandwich, pork veal sausage on toasted bread with mustard, hot sauerkraut and sweet potato salad on the side. The potato salad was not as I expected but still good with a molasses glaze or some other sweet addition to the boiled potatoes. Sorry had to drop 2 stars was not a fan at the new location on Camp Bowie road. I order the jagerschnitzel it is my go to German food and the pork cutlet seemed low quality. My mushroom onion gravy had strange thickness it was heavy on cornstarch. Only 1or 2 mushrooms. The soup and potatoes were good and beer was great. The new location I was not happy with. Very bright inside was a old Dennys and still looks like one. The old location was run down but it had character. Service was good over all okay experience. So walking into the restaurant, or kind of had a cafe feel. The dining area is pretty large and there's really nothing fancy about it. Ambiance is rarely a factor to me, especially if the food is good but if ambience matters to you, this one might miss the mark. I had the chicken dinner. The grilled chicken breasts were quite tasty. The other sides, I could have done without. Admittedly, this is the first time I've had spaetzl but I wasn't a fan. It was dry, rubbery, and bland. The pan fried potatoes weren't anything special - the same as you'd get at a cafeteria. I went at lunch with a large group, some of which go here all the time. The potato pancakes looked amazing. I would imagine traditional German food here is very good. As for service, our server was cheery and attentive. I'd probably give this restaurant another shot and order schnitzel, kraut, and potato pancakes the next time. read more

I love German food and have been wanting to try this place for a while. It's in a renovated Denny's so you have that old diner feel and this probably isn't a place you go for the ambience. But the food certainly did not disappoint. My buddy and I started off with the fried mushrooms. They're huge, and the breading is fairly light. You have to hold them with your hand while you cut them, otherwise they fall apart. But they had a great taste, and anything fried tastes pretty good when you dip it in ranch. For my entree, I got the Munchen sausage platter. It came with a bratwurst and I chose to substitute the knockwurst for a polish sausage. Little Germany allows you to substitute anything to create the combo you want, a definite plus in my book. The sausage combo came with hot potato salad which I subbed for pan fried potatoes, spaetzle, and sauerkraut. All very tasty. Our server was nice, attentive, and encouraged us to mix, match, and try a variety of things. I washed it all down with a 24oz Warsteiner. I'll be back to this place. read more

Wow! One of the best meals I've enjoyed in a long, long time. First and foremost Rouladen is my absolute favorite and it was the main reason we came and it did not disappoint. The sides, red cabbage and spatzle was the perfect compliment. I really enjoyed our dinner and ordered two meals to go for lunch tomorrow. We ordered potato cakes for an appetizer and while they arrived a bit later they were divine. Goulash was also a side that was served with the meals (a soup) and I ordered an extra one. It simply was delicious and seasoned to perfection. Our server was amazing and he was genuine in his recommendations and provided top notch service.
