So we're driving down the road from flying into Pitts,PA and hungry from traveling all day. Looking for a great place to eat. Well this place doesn't look the part for the best pizza I ever had. We just ordered pepperoni pizza and walked to the other side of the place to buy a beer and bring it in. The Little It' Deli is clean in an old building with old wood floors and a charm of a small business owner working hard to impress with customer service and a conversation. The pizza came out and it was not what we expected. You could smell garlic and butter on our 16" large thin crust. First couple of bites, bottom of the pizza crunches with every bite. Homemade sauce and gourmet cheese. I am still dreaming of it and want to go back. Thank you for the experience! read more

Just stopped here with my boyfriend on our trip from Cleveland to the Poconos and it was the perfect place for lunch off 80. The short drive to get there was easy and the city it's in is quaint & charming. About the food - delicious! I had the best seafood broth based soup I've ever had! It was filled with mussels & shrimp and was perfectly seasoned. I then had the Merita Panini. The balance between bread, cheese, eggplant & olives was spot on. My boyfriend had the spicy sausage sandwich on a homemade roll with peppers, onions, & cheese. BAKED fries included (very good). According to my boyfriend, It was a "spicy delight". The whole meal with a pop & hot tea was just under $22.00 - totally worth it! Thank you to our very nice server AND chef that took care of us! We visited after riding the Alleghany River Trail bike path. Very friendly nice family restaurant. Small town charm. My wife and I both had Calzones. She ordered the small and I ordered the large. WOW large was huge! I told the waitress. I will need a to go box. There's no way I'll finish that. That calzone was fresh and delicious. The marinara sauce was delicious. That's was makes great pizza sauce and crust. And they have both here. I would absolutely stop here to eat again if we're ever back in town. read more

Love this place! The meat lovers calzones are wonderful!(Even the small is big!) The fried lasagna is delicious! Soups are great!( Dill Pickle soup is the best!) And they go great with garlic knots. I wanted to like this place so bad after hearing family talk about how good it was, but it was not appetizing at all. One persons meatball sub was served lukewarm/borderline cold. My pizza was undercooked and doughy still. The other persons food was done to her liking. No one came to check to see how anything was. When I brought it to their attention, they only offered to reheat the food, nothing else, no apology. Maybe they had an off-day.... Needless to say, we won't be returning. read more

We stopped by to Little It' on our road trip from CT to WI. It was delightful! The food was super-fresh and delicious, and the staff so friendly. Plus, Emlenton is a sweet town, and worth seeing. For cyclists, it's also great that this deli is right next to the parking lot for the Allegheny River bike trail. read more

What a special family owned spot. Food was so delicious. Came with a group and everyone was happy. The place is charming and you can feel allot of love in everything they do. Their Pizza is extremely thin and not worth the money you pay for it. If You're expecting toppings you better say extra toppings a few times if you want normal toppings that come with any pizza or you're getting a real thin flat piece of dough that's about it! read more

Ok, we just had the spaghetti, three of us, the consensus was it was not great. Meat balls must have been frozen or refrigerated but they were not hot and the centers were cold. Did you ever see a Italian restaurant that you didn't get nice Italian bread and butter? They gave you some kind of deep fried bread stick,yuck. None of us cared much for the sauce but that's our preference, maybe someone else might like it. Waitress was pleasant but not a very good waitress, I guess you have to get the phone out of your ear. What a gem! I wanted to stop here on our trip because, hey, Im Italian and have lived in Montana for two years and couldnt wait to get back to Jersey for some GOOD homemade Italian-crafted food! Quaint little Italian place with sandwiches, pizza, soup and the like. We got the Tony and a cup of the mushroom gouda tomato soup. Oooohhh myyyyy goooddneeessss soooo gooooooddd. They homemake everything, including the bread, and it literally tasted like they just took it out of the oven (maybe they did?). The Tony is built like a classic Italian hoagie/sub but there is nothing generic-deli-meat about it. Don't kill me Jersey but this thing tops some of my favorite delis back east. Annnd the soup was bomb. So creamy but super fresh and light. Can I please have the recipe Little It'??? I wish we got a bowl or two cups. I want more!!! Their soups rotate daily I believe, but I'm sure all of the other soups they make are just as good. We got our stuff to go for the road trip. The wait was short plus the staff and owners provided kind and happy small talk. Family owned is always a great thing to support, as well. :) Will go back if I'm ever in the area! read more

It was just okay. My sandwich was pretty awful. They explained that there was a new cook and gave me a very small discount, but it was pretty bad. Too much onion and vinegar in the marinated mushrooms, and the bread was charred black. Hubby liked his sandwich. I know there isn't much competition in these parts, and other people really like this place. A lot of locals were there at lunch. For travelers, it's no better than any other wayside stop. read more
