We took a staycation to Jupiter and discovered one of the best hidden historic gems, Little Moir's Food Shack. It's an absolute must visit, and the service was every bit as impressive as the food. Sue has been there for more than 20 years and gave us fantastic recommendations that made the experience even better. We started with the smoked fish dip, which was incredibly fresh and delicious. My boyfriend ordered the crispy tuna and the swordfish special, both of which were outstanding. I went with their signature sweet potato crusted catch of the day, yellowtail snapper, and it was amazing. They also had fresh pressed watermelon for the margaritas, which made them extra refreshing. And as a Sauvignon Blanc fan, I loved that they served Squealing Pig ice cold, exactly how it should be. Definitely a spot we'll return to anytime we're back in Jupiter. read more

I've been coming to the Food Shack for 15 years, and I have a confession: I've only ever ordered the Indoroni. For a decade and a half, that dish has called my name every single time. Maybe it's because I'm Indonesian, but I'm a total creature of habit and it never misses. ​While I'm stuck in my ways, my wife and the rest of the family have tried almost everything else. I can't believe I haven't reviewed Food Shack yet as I've been a few times but this is hands down my favorite place to get fresh fish in Jupiter. There are a couple other "Little Moir's" locations around the area and they are all the same food-wise - very good! I generally go with the sweet potato crusted fresh fish of the day. This is basically a salad with all types of fresh fruits and veggies with a nice sized piece of fish on top. It's delicious and IMO the best item on the menu. It's fresh, crisp and tasty. I want to try a basic fried fish sandwich as I've heard good things but I can't bring myself to order anything else as I'm not in the area that often. They also have fresh homemade desserts, but I'm always too full to try them. Service is fast, friendly and the place is clean. This is a solid spot, don't let this location in the strip mall turn you off. Give them a shot. read more

Absolutely quintessential Florida establishment: quirky, out there, fun, seafood, casual. Excellent passion from the kitchen staff, you can tell they are masters at what they do. This place was a great find. 300pm and place was already packed Started off with the Brussels sprouts. Called "leftover Brussels sprouts" on tge menu Shaved parmesan cheese Bleu cheese peppers and onions. Great item to share. Cyndi had for the main entre the sweet potato crusted fish with fish as Corvina. On bed of Ceasar salad I had the sheepshead fresh catch with the sweet and sour coconut crusted. Both were fantastic. Don't know why I don't come here more often because it is in my opinion one of the very best seafood restaurants around. I have been here far more times than the limited reviews I've written on it. Everything i have eaten here has been outstanding (from the Apps to the main course to the deserts). If you haven't been here you are missing out and depriving yourself of the best food you can have any where. The service is always excellent and the atmosphere is key west casual. Funky little place with off-beat decor and excellent seafood. They offer "crusts" which is a preparation for fish and you choose which fish you want it applied to. Started with fish dip. For me they take great fish and make a mess by adding pickled vegetables on top. I'm not a pickled vegetable fan and having that on fish dip is not my thing. Next time now that I know I'll have them leave it off. The tortilla chip are really too crispy. Regular crackers would have been better. We both got the sweet potato crust. From the name you would never know. I couldn't taste the sweet potato but this is great. Versus chicken we got yellow tail snapper. It came out piping hot and the fish would almost melt in your mouth. We elected to get it over coconut rice vs a salad. After the fish dip it was challenging to finish it all. This dish is worth the drive to go eat there. You can set outside or inside. They have a huge amount of space inside and bet it's full for dinner. Server was ok, a little slow and they were not swamped. Something's are priced about right such as the Sweet Potato Crust around $28-30 based on chicken or kind of fish. Some things are just crazy. Ice tea is $5.00 which is just overpriced in my opinion. It's water and tea. Deserts are about $13-15. Yes I would go back. Think they are little overpriced on some things so it can get expensive quickly based on what you order. Not everyone is a tourist on vacation. First time here for lunch with 3 others and decided to do family style. Very interesting fish where they have a crusted fish - brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes. Both were very unique and very tasty. I would definitely do the fish again. The dessert was interesting and not what I expected - the raspberry key like pie didn't actually have enough key lime and too much raspberry. The peach cobbler ice cream was very tasty. Obsessed with the "crusts" here. I sat at the bar, which honestly felt a little like a chef's table experience, and ordered the sweet potato-crusted mahi drizzled with sambal aioli and served over a mixed green salad with a funky, super-fresh mix of toppings, including a key lime dressing. I loved every single bite. The fish was a generous portion and cooked to perfection: crispy on the outside, flaky and tender inside. The combination of salad ingredients made each bite feel a little different, and somehow every bite was just as good as the last. I was dining alone and could not wait to share with my daughter, who lives in the area. We ended up going to their sister restaurant the very next day just to order the crusted Mahi again, and she added a side of coconut rice. That should tell you everything. I cannot wait to go back. This is the salad of my dreams. The restaurant is only about four minutes from the parking at Jupiter Beach and has a casual, relaxed vibe. There is outdoor seating, plus a mix of tables and bar seating. I went at 4:15 p.m., shortly after they opened, and it was a great time to be there. I should also mention that the service was amazing. They seem to have a very collaborative approach, and multiple staff members stopped by to check on me and make sure I was enjoying everything. It made the whole experience feel welcoming, easy, and well taken care of. Even on a packed Saturday afternoon for lunch, Little Moir's delivered! From the outside, looks can be deceiving. Hidden away in a shopping plaza, its a hidden gem. The short rib burger was super yummy and flavorful, and the beachy lychee cocktail was equally tasty and pretty. We were a larger party and they were able to accommodate us. I first visited this restaurant 15 years ago when vacationing in Florida. (how am I this old?) It was definitely a little food shack in a strip mall then. Now it has a fresh and fun remodel, transporting you to the Keys! The vibes are relaxed and the service is great. The variety of fish options is amazing, many I haven't been able to try before. So it's fun for everyone to order a different fish so you can taste the differences. We loved every bite of everything we ordered. I did find the flavor of the sweet potato crust to be strong and almost over power the fish. It was delicious but I want to go back to try the coconut crust. The dressing and the coconut rice is amazing! The jungle cocktail was our favorite. I'm still dreaming about the coconut brûlée cheesecake! read more

I decided to give this food truck a try while at the Kesha concert. I was in the mood for something light and healthy, so I ordered the shrimp salad, which came to $26. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed when I received a small tray with barely any lettuce. While the salad itself was tasty, the portion and presentation did not justify the price in my opinion. From the outside, Food Shack looks like a place you'd walk past without thinking twice--glass covered in stickers, totally unassuming. But seriously... run, don't walk. This place is a gem. They switch up the menu daily based on fresh produce and whatever was just pulled out of the ocean. You pick your fish, pick a crust (yes, a crust), and they work absolute magic. Every bite was ridiculous. The service was on point, drinks were great, and the raspberry key lime pie for dessert? Unreal. Tart, sweet, refreshing--basically summer in pie form. Unconventional, but intriguing. The staff greeting us at the door was friendly and accommodating. We were seated in about 5 minutes and the server came over and was friendly and helped us in navigating the menu options. We all chose fish dishes. Two of us got sandwiches and one got fish on a plate of rice and veggies. The fish was all fresh and plentiful and full of flavor. The real test of a fish sandwich is whether the bun can stand up to test. The brioche bun passed with flying colors. The fries were big and plentiful although a little overcooked. I haven't been here in years, but I recently revisited. I was instantly reminded why it is called the food shack - this place is completely unpretentious! Considering how close it is to the beach, it is the perfect spot to drop in as long as you embrace the shack theme, the dark windowless bar theme, and no privacy at your table, but all that just means : the food is awesome! It wasn't very busy stopping by on a weekday for a late lunch, and we sat at the one of the tables that lines the wall across from the bar. I enjoy the daily hand written menu but none of the specials - and there were A LOT - caught my eye. I thought about getting the sweet potato and macadamia encrusted fish which is what I have had in the past, but I decided to order instead the Little Moir's Blackened Fish Wrap, which had fish, mango, avocado, cotija cheese, and Mexican street corn salsa. It was so good! I loved the mango in it, and the whole combo made for a satisfying bite each time. I selected the steak fries, but they included a little cup of veggie slaw on my plate as well. Been here a few times now and not impressed. Especially with service. We all ordered fish (fresh catch) over rice. About 20-30 mins after we ordered we are told they are out of rice. Not sure how you run out of rice at 6pm on a Friday, but no big deal. Waiter was being difficult and says we cannot order anything different since the food was "already plated" and also gave very limited alternative options. For whatever reason seemed the kitchen had attitude with us. Interesting treatment after we had already ordered well over $100 in drinks and appetizers. Really killed the vibe. The food is good. It's not great and it's pricey. It certainly isn't worth the hype and the long wait times. I've traveled many places and sought out many of the top restaurants in each of those places.
