So my husband and I are in the area looking at covered bridges and he looks up a place to grab lunch. When we first walked in I thought this isn't going to have what I want. It's a charming little store with pre-made wraps, drinks, chips, etc. I was about ready to say let's grab a drink, use their bathroom and leave but the young man at the counter asked if we wanted a menu. I was pleased to see that they make sandwiches fresh and not just the pre-made stuff. So I ordered their " Rachel" which is a Rueben made with turkey... AMAZING! This sandwich was made to perfection! The meat, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and dressing ratio was just right and best of all, the marbled rye was grilled perfectly! If we lived in the area we would be coming here often. Small store with basics (beer, wine, snacks, things you might need on vaca; etc) and sandwiches / pizzas made to order. Subs are delicious and the ingredients were fresh and tasty. Decent prices too. I personally liked the subs a little more than the pizzas. One caveat - maybe very sloooow. One day ordered 4 subs around noon and it took almost 45 mins to make them. Not really sure why, wasn't super busy. They did have a few phoned in orders it looked like but I just think they had no sense of being quick. SHAME ON YOU LITTLE MOUNTAIN STORE! Price gouging is bad enough, but when you list something at a price, then ring it up over a dollar more, that's literally stealing! On top of ripping people off, you can't make a sandwich to order correctly even when I bring in a written list of what I want on it? Trash. Last week we ordered subs from here, and the "build your own" was missing half the stuff we asked for, with other random things we did not order on it. Since the subs weren't awful tasting, but just made wrong, we decided to try again this week. We wrote out the order we wanted, listed each ingredient specifically, and I gave the counter guy the actual written list for the "build your own" sub. They STILL DID NOT MAKE THE SUB RIGHT. On top of that I ordered a "regular Italian", but was given a "Mainer Italian", which is not the same. One would think that since the only 2 Italians they offer are the regular and the "Mainer", they would be able to make them right, but, alas, no! They can't even seem to price things out "correctly" in their crappy little store. The chips are listed as 4.79, but when they rang up it was 5.89. When I asked to fix the price they refused saying they asked the chip company to stop sending prepriced chips. (Too lazy to put a sticker on yourselves? That doesn't surprise me, as you can't even make a simple sub correctly) I look forward to the current owners losing this business, and someone with actual business sense and care for customers taking over. Little Mountain used to be a great little convenience store with tasty, correctly made food at a slightly higher than average price. (they were truly a "pay a bit more not to have to go to intown bridgton" store, but never actually stole from people) Now all this place is is an over priced shithole with poor service, incompetent employees, and they will literally steal from you. Dont bother. I ordered a small chicken parm. Took 20 mins to make(no one else was in there). Was not very good. Also they charged me $7.50 when their sign said $6.50. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the new store. Clean, inviting and so far the food was above par. Recommend the meatball sandwich. Best meatballs I ever had. Cant wait to go back today. Recommend tying to Shawnee for food. Perfect for ordered sandwiches for hikes or days on the lake. So happy they are here. Oh and they deliver. Great beer and wine selection. SO rude. Like wow. im out of town but my sister had a baby, I was looking for some where local to deliver her a hot meal, from the moment they answered the phone it was just RUDE. I asked if they delivered, she told yes but only certain hours. So I asked if I called back after the time frame if I could place a order for delivery. Went here again last night for our 2nd pizza. It was totally different than our first one. Different sauce, different cheese, and most surprising, different price. If there's one thing I think consumers want is consistency. I'm not saying last night's pizza was bad. No... it was very good. But I got charged for a 'specialty' pizza, which it was not. A $15.99 pizza quickly escalated up to $18+ and with tax $19+. It feels like they're still trying to get their act together... and I do hope they're successful. Just take a step back and make sure you're treating the customer right. Make sure your product is consistent with no surprises. And finally make sure the person at the register knows what to charge for a particular item. read more
