Living in the building where the Little Purple Laundry Shop is housed, I've lost count of the number of times it has changed its staff. I actually don't know if the changes extend to ownership and management. What I just notice is that the faces of those who weigh our laundry, accept our payment, and release our clean clothes have changed so often.
Despite this, services has surprisingly not suffered any major disruptions (except that one time when, for several days, they closed shop because they had no water supply). I'm glad for that, as they have been doing our laundry regularly for almost three years now. Their usual rates are at Php 28-30 for wash-dry-fold (I don't bother having my clothes pressed, except for when I have to attend special occasions, sorry not sorry), but this summer, they lowered that to a promo price of Php 24.
My only issue with this laundromat is how they handle whites: they don't turn out as white as I want them. But they're not alone. Sadly, after having gone through so many laundromats in my more than a decade of being an apartment resident here in Manila, this seems to be a recurring theme. As a result, my wardrobe is now almost completely devoid of white items!
Oh, and by the way, the shop is not purple--or at least, not anymore. I wonder why they didn't change the name. read more
