In fairness, I have never been to Corsica and therefore you really should completely ignore this review - but somehow I have stumbled into my second Corsican restaurant in France in two days and have found exactly the same thing in both... This is a lovely little wine bar / bistro in Nice, where the staff are lovely, the music is chilled and there is already a little bacteria brewing starter of garlic dip, toasted bread and a little pizzary thing on every table ready to go. Starting with a wine - the Domaine Dominici red on recommendation for 7 euros, and it's good! Light, fruity - balanced, nothing to write home about, but drinkable... Only crappy thing is that it's served at above body temperature - causing me to nearly blow in it to cool it down. The charcuterie plate is 14 euros for a small, and, well frankly a little underwhelming array of three meats - a few bits each and some bread. But it's okay and my hunger has ebbed somewhat. The meats are fine (not explained) - a little dry and tough little pigs generally, but acceptable. I don't thing I will go a main dish, or another glass of red served at breast milk temperature, I will explore this town some more...

They had run out of one of the options. But that was totally fine for my company and I, the two options we got: - carrot and parsnip soup, with bread and goat cheese: cheese was warm and silky, bread was fresh and crisp. The soup itself hit the soul very warmly. It was so fresh, like I was eating the actual carrot and parsnip, but better. It was a good change to eat something so vegetable based. - egg pumpkin (various kinds of pumpkins) omelette with rice and salad and draped in cumin spiced Gouda cheese: like the other dish, you could taste the vegetables in every bite. It was light and fresh. There were chunks of cheese in the rice which were good surprises. I was so pleased with this place overall, not just by the food. I would give more stars if I could. At the end of the meal, when we refused dessert (even though we were tempted) and got our cheque, the owner gave us a few pieces of their carrot cake to our surprise. It was really nice of her. The carrot cake was heavenly, so fluffy, light and not too sweet (like all the other carrot cakes I've had in my life). I'm impressed! So good.

I ended up getting a cappuccino that was well-made, with a nice Crema on top, well balanced, and most importantly quite tasty.
