PARENTS BEWARE I'm writing this because my daughter's mother's review was flagged several times and her account is obviously better but I feel that it is imperative that parents are aware of what they are signing up for if they choose to enroll their child in this establishment. On June 1st, my daughter was enrolled in Little Scholars on Avenue U. We were told that her teacher was Ms. Nikki initially but on the ist day was told it was Ms. Anastasia a new teacher. We didn't receive any communication about how our child was doing for her first day and we were concerned. I did drop-offs so in that first week, I noticed that kids were frequently running out of the room and it was a huge concern that I shared with my daughter's mother. On June 7th, her mother received a phone call in the afternoon from Ms. Nikki who is not her teacher saying my child was bitten and these things are normal and usually occur in all daycare settings and don't be alarm. She told her mother that she intercepted the bite when asked where the teachers were in the room and sent a picture of the bite mark near her mouth. The bite mark was deep and looked like a dog bit her and no way was it intercepted as Ms. Nikki explained. Mom requested to speak with the school director Ms. Iryna and she was not in the building and was told that she could not locate her. Ms. Nikki even went so far as to say that she was overwhelmed because a lot was happening that day in school. We went up to the school as soon as she could and Ms. Iryna was still not reachable. We called all of the locations to see if we could speak to someone of authority to no avail. We did speak to Brett from the East 1st location who was nice but couldn't help. So it is surprising there is a "business manager" responding to all the negative reviews. We left with our traumatized daughter with no answers and no resolve. We called the next morning and Ms. Iryna was still not there. You would think she would call the parent in an incident first thing in the morning. We went up to the school and Ms. Iryna still wasn't there. Ms. Nikki gave us an attitude like we attacked her child. We called the cops and waited and that was when Ms. Iryna finally appeared. The cops accompanied mom as she watched the video, which was TRAUMATIZING. It was worst than what they said. I knew I couldn't go look at it because I wouldn't be able to control my response. What she was was our baby being hit in the face repeatedly all in the view of both teachers as they fiddled with papers and then the child chomped down right as Ms. Nikki walked by them and didn't even notice. My baby cried and Ms. Nikki who by the way isn't even her teacher didn't even notice. My baby cried while Ms. Nikki called the kids to the mat for an activity and she didn't even notice my child had a bite mark on her face. The biggest issue is how this situation was handled. It was as if this is normal. And there is obviously a cover up, shut up and shut down instead of addressing the issues and concern. I will not be silenced of the truth of what happened to my baby. read more

I don't have words to praise this after-school program enough, we are very happy with them. My son simply loves his taekwondo classes, and it's just great to see how confident he has become in what he does - he is above excited every day to share what he has learned. The teachers are very patient, supportive, and really care for the kids, and I've heard so many good things about Ms. Kiara It's such a relief knowing he's spending his afternoons in a safe, fun environment that also challenges him to learn something new. read more

The daycare has an incredible team of teachers who are committed to providing excellent pre-school education. Our son is learning something new every day and it's a joy to see this. Ms Iryna and ms Tara are always there to talk and listen to feedback as well as work collaboratively with parents when making decisions regarding our child. The Little Scholars has been a big part of our family life since our son began attending, and we know it will contribute hugely to our child's education as well as his / our outlook. read more

This is the very first daycare my daughter has ever been to, and she absolutely loves going! The teachers are incredible, so caring and attentive. They really take the time to get to know both you and your child, which makes such a huge difference. They're super careful and thoughtful about her allergies too, which gives me so much peace of mind. The director is wonderful, she's attentive and makes an effort to really know all the families. Overall, this place is just fantastic. We feel so lucky to have found it! read more

10 stars isn't enough!! We started our baby when he was just 12 weeks old, and now at 6 months, I can honestly say it's been one of the best decisions we've made. The owners are absolute gems, very professional, and they treat every family like their own. The teachers are ANGELS!!! You can tell how much they adore the kids and love their jobs. Their UPK program has been a lifesaver for us. It's not just regular care--they provide so many enriching activities that keep the kids active and learning and I love that they pay attention to focus and good communication schools too. The teachers are warm and approachable, and the after school program is filled with activities that my child loves and keeps talking about at home. From coding to art, they cover it all. Finding a daycare near me that combines fun and learning isn't easy, but we hit the jackpot here. Great staff, super experienced teachers who encourage creativity, care about safety and have infinite love for kids!! My daughter can't get enough of the taekwondo classes--she's showing her moves all over the house now, plus I am happy she gets more confident while communicating. We've been with this daycare for a year now. Our 2yr old grandson has grown leaps and bounds by being in their care! You are ALWAYS greeted with a smile and hello. Dave has had some of the best care-givers around during his growth and currently is with his favorite, Ms. Tetiana. The staff is dedicated and devoted to the kids. The kids are fed extremely well with a variety of good foods. There are plenty of indoor/outdoor activities and equipment. read more

My younger daughter absolutely loves the toddler classroom. Her speech and language improved astronomically in a very short period of time. She walked in not speaking any words as she has a speech delay, and within 3 months comes home singing songs, I've spoken to other parents who have sent their children here and have only good things to share. I'm so happy and satisfied with this daycare. I've been bringing my son here for over a year, and he's always excited to go. He has never cried at drop-off, which gives me so much peace of mind while I'm at work knowing that my son is in good hands. The teachers are very sweet, caring, and truly attentive. My 2 year son started this school on Monday 11/26 - prior to that he was in another center for 2.5 months that was awful - he was angry all the time and became violent - within just a matter of days, LS showed him so much love and compassion that he is all smiles and back to giving hugs and kisses....they are miracles workers and are understanding, loving and patient to children with special needs - I wish I went there first :) read more

This place is a lifesaver! Stuff is kind, resourceful, attentive, caring, and courteous. They were incredible through my child transition into the program. They are understanding of the worries that as parents we have naturally and do everything in their power to ensure we are at ease; through constant communication via email, phone, and in person. We love Little Scholars IV! Our daughter has been going there for over a year now and we have loved all of the teachers she has had. Ms. Kayla, Ms. Chelsea, and Ms. Ennise have been so amazing to work with and they have shown that they care about the kids that attend this daycare. The UPK program here is exactly what we needed! With the ACS voucher, we could actually afford quality aftercare which is great because my child is able to stay past the regular DOE hours. Ms.Shania is amazing. She keeps the kids engaged, and my daughter comes home talking about new words, songs, and even some fun science stuff. She used to be shy, but now she's full of confidence. My son has been going to this daycare for almost a year now, and he loves it! The teachers are extremely nice and they make kids their first priority! My son is speaking very well for his age of almost 2!! The staff is very well-trained. Their food is great, and they have a time schedule that have kept together since my son has been going!! I am always informed on my child's progress during her afterschool studies. I would say with confidence that the communication with parents here is excellent! I have my little nephew at Little Scholars IV whom I'm picking up all the time. Staff and teachers are really AMAZING. They take great care of all children and really wonderful about providing updates on a day progress. As a new mom I used to get anxiety every morning leaving my little one, but not anymore. Every teacher who watches him throughout the day are absolute angels. They love him, teach him so much, and make sure he's happy from drop-off to pick-up.
