The baby clothes all look really cute and stylish, they even had little flat cap hats that were adorable but you have to wonder why someone would spend that much on items that a child will grow out of in a matter of months. My son grew out of his 0-3m clothes in about 6 weeks! There were beautiful little outfits that were £45+ each!! A mere onesie cost £25+... Considering I didn't really want to spend more than £20 my options were very limited. I did end up having a quick look in Mothercare but the style and quality didn't compare. I did find a lovely gift in the end but still came away thinking everything was a bit of a rip off!

Both shops have their advantages, but Ten Tiny Toes I've found to be the best for babies. The helpful staff are (thankfully) at hand to guide you through what the best thing to buy your best friend's baby - what will fit, and what's in your price range. Ten Tiny Toes is fairly expensive (I once bought a raincoat for a friend's child for £25!) so it's probably not suitable for everyday stuff, but their products do make great presents.

Their stall in St Nick's is a glorious mish-mash of products, ranging from long-life nappies to ethical bike cleaner. There are moon diaries, t-shirts, kitchen accessories and jewellery to be had. But, however much I agree with their vision, their fashions sadly aren't my bag. It's a bit hypocritical to say, but one look around Bristol Green Store will leave you feeling passionate about what their trying to achieve without having actually bought anything. It's a great place for yummy mummies as they have an extensive mother and baby range, but for the rest of us there's a lot of window shopping to be had. Their philosophy is simple, but their message is strong: buy smarter, buy ethically. Until all shops follow suit, Bristol Green Store is still fighting the cause and is a lovely place to nose around.

I don't have a massive need for eco-friendly baby gear just yet but they did have a great range of quite funny and very cute T-shirts. They also specialise in organic cosmetics, essential oils and cleaning products and alike, all eco-friendly of course. Even if you aren't completely green you will be able to find at least one product here that will help you take a step in the right direction and replace what you are currently using. The service is friendly and helpful...no pushy eco-warriors here! When you see what's available it does make you want to do your bit, even if the idea of 'second hand nappies' is still freaking me out a bit.

I go to the shop in Westbury Village, and love all the gorgeous clothes and toys there. The price range is varied- you can pick a lovely gift up for 50p or £50 so there's something to suit everyone. They also have very knowledgable staff in both shops and they are always on hand for ideas if I need them. There are always lots of toys out for little ones to play with and they are breast-feeding friendly too! They sell lots of well known children's clothes brands such as Frugi, Kite, Pigeon, Hately, Joules and Blade & Rose, I have bought lots of gorgeous dresses for my daughter and everyone asks where they're from and comments on how lovely they are. Wow! I could do some serious damage at this place! Cabot Circus is a beautifully constructed…read more"outdoor" shopping centre with every store you can imagine! We were staying across the street at the Future Inn and on the evening we arrived, we strolled over to take a quick peek at the adventures I would be exploring the next day. Much to my surprise, pleasure and happiness, there was a Pret right there as soon as we walked in! Breakfast at the hotel was on the pricey side so we knew where we'd be coming in the morning and we certainly needed to get fueled up for a day of shopping! CC has lots of high end, brand name stores and with even more shops beyond the boundaries of CC, this made for a lovely day of retail therapy. My poor husband... oh well, at least they had an Apple store for him. ;)
