We arrived in Hawaii 7 weeks ago and this is 1st groomer we've used since we started living here. Both staff and owner are very friendly and their haircut skills are excellent and very clean. Love the before and after photos, what a nice touch in service. A big plus is the shop is open 7days/week. I don't have any other groomers for comparison in Hawaii, so I can only do my comparison to San Francisco groomers and that I am accustomed to. Typically, our dogs groomer(s) take 1.5 to 2hrs per dog for a full spa grooming. If only one groomer available to do both our dogs, it would be 3 to 4hrs total. LLP had 2 groomers to groom 2 dogs and it took 4hrs. The dogs really look great and you can make your own opinion from the photos. I usually don't like my dogs to stay so long at the shop. I was quoted a certain price before bringing them in and it included a new first time customer discount and another discount. But when my wife picked them up, they price was more. The price originally quoted was for shave or cut for a dog that gets regularly groomed every 7 weeks and bathe regularly every 10-14days was the information I provided. Money is not an issue but I am use to being charge what I am quoted. Our dogs weren't severely matted... the cuts were typical puppycut that they have been getting for last 6.5yrs. If the time our dogs were in the shop was shorter or the price was did not change, this would have been a 4.5-5 star review. This was $120 including tip. I've reached out with Aloha privately and I've not gotten a response. I'm so upset bc my baby even had his eyelashes cut when they removed his eyebrows. I told them I will post a pic daily until they respond. I have about 60 more pics of the hacking they gave to him. This is not even mentioning the chaotic nature of the loose dogs in a TINY enclosure where you have no idea about vax statuses bc they don't ask for medical history. It seems like they just take random dogs cuz they never even asked me for vax status in the new pet paperwork. I'm literally beside myself over this experience and I want to make sure that no one else has this experience. Everyone has off days, mistakes do happen, some things are just out of one's control, this is a given. Especially when you like a place, it's easier to overlook little inconveniences. I got a call on Friday that there was a cancellation, and they would be able to take my 2 puppers in 2 weeks earlier than their scheduled appointment. Great! Appointment was for 10:00, and they were dropped off at 9:40. Both small dogs, Chloe is a long hair miniature daschund who gets the full bath and extras, but minimal cut, just clean up. Sumi is a terrier mutt who I always ask for full shave because her hair gets long, fast. Smooth check in, as usual, and was told, don't worry, the only thing they need is time. Yes, I'm used to the 4-5 hour wait, no problem. Pulled up into the parking lot at 3:15 because I wanted to go check out the watch repair place next door which closes at 4:00 and was told that they haven't even been started on yet. What? No, they were given their baths, but just have not started on their cuts yet. Ok.... Jump back in the car and head home. At 4:30 I head back over there and see Chloe on the table, with Sumi no where on site. Was told that it should just be a little bit more, Sumi is next but should be quick. Go take a walk around. Sorry, the groomer is new. Doesn't speak much English. Took the wrong dog before mines and worked on that dog instead. Ok even that was understandable. I'm not too happy with it, but mistakes do happen. I'm more concerned that my dogs who are pad trained have been unable to use the bathroom for about 7 hours. We walk around and get back to the shop at 5:20. Sumi is on the table and Chloe on the floor tied to the table. I have dinner reservations at 6:00 and am trying to get out of there as quick as possible. A lady comes out, I ask her for Chloe so I can let her use the bathroom and want to close out my bill so I can get out of there. I pay her, give the guy a 18 percent tip for both dogs and get Chloe to the nearest patch of grass before putting her in the car. I go back for Sumi, only for her to say it's going to be another 20 minutes. My dogs would have been here for 8 hours at that point. She says sorry, the guy is new and is in Training. Then she says she knows I'm running late, so I can just take Sumi home, and bring her back to finish up for free. I said I don't understand, what do you mean free. She said yes, bring her back in so they can finish the haircut and I don't have to pay for it. I asked why would I have to pay for anything to bring her back? I already paid for her. I said it's ok, please give me my dog and I won't be returning here... Yes mistakes do happen, everyone has an off day, some things are out of one's control. I felt like any of these could have happened today, but not all 3. The sad thing is Krystal was in there also, she saw me come up there 3 times and didn't come out to say anything. read more

Brought our dog Rosie here on 9/18/19 for a haircut. All seems ok until my hubs got home and I noticed our dog had a big bloody gash on the back of her head! No one told us that this happened! Not only that, the groomer did not return our dog collar that had our dog's name and our phone numbers on it. It was brand new!! My hubs picked up our dog up, so he didn't know our dog had it on her when I dropped her off. I called 4 days later on 9/23 after the weekend at 2:00 pm to see if we could pass by to get our dog's collar back and our groomer Andreas (I think that's her name) answered the call. I told her about the collar and she said: "can you call me back, I'm alone now". Still not sure where they put our dog's collar or name tag that we just bought! Missing may spots. Right after picked up my baby, she had to use bathroom. They said they keep giving her treats. She got diarrhea. Very bad one. After she made a few times, she seems ok. But unfortunately I took her March 4th and over 10 days, she still having very bad diarrhea. Called vet but so busy and I am waiting her check up and doo doo sample results come back. I found Live Love Pet on Yelp. A Yelp friend raved about them so I decided to give them a try. Located in Kaimuki they're conveniently located for East Honolulu residence and there's a lot of parking in the area (metered or in the municipal lots). We've been searching for about a year for a new groomer for Ipo, our eleven pound refugee from the Humane Society. FPO and I picked her up when she was around two-years-old (she's pushing eleven now). For years and years she went to Amy at One Stop Grooming Shop. Her brothers both went there before her. We all still miss Amy in the years since she retired. A bad previous experience with another groomer has made Ipo wary of groomers in general and I explained this to the folks at Live Love Pet. They were sympathetic and understanding, asked a lot of questions about Ipo, her background, her personality. They said the woman who would be working on Ipo had a lot of experience with Bichons and was very patient with animals who suffered from anxiety. I'm trying to keep this review brief so I'll sum up their work and say Ipo liked the people there. Me, not as much. I didn't like the way they cut her hair, uneven patches on her head, her legs, her tail. They offered to fix it, then fix another area, then another until finally I told them just stop. I also didn't care for the piles of dog hair on the floor all around their cutting stations or the way it blew into the front areas of the shop. I don't usually have an issue with dog allergies these days but I had one after I left. I asked and was told they take credit cards. I didn't know until I was paying however, that they'll tack on an extra 4% to your total for it. And the search goes on ... read more

I have had my little shih tzu female groomed by them several times now, and they have always done a good job. The last time I brought her in, she was lactating and nursing a litter of puppies at home, and was a mess. I needed her back within 3 to 4 hours maximum and made that clear to them because the puppies still required regular feedings. They promised that if I brought her in before 10:00 AM that they could complete the job in time for her to be back as needed. I dropped her off at 8 AM and they had done the job and called me by 11 AM. They fulfilled that promise and did a great job on the grooming. They are also reasonably priced and often offer discounts from time to time which I took advantage of. The only problem is that they are located in a area of Kaimuki with extremely limited parking. I solve that problem by having a friend or neighbor, ride with me, and sit in the car, while I run into pay. Despite that, I continue to use them because they provide a great service at a very good price. read more

They over book-maybe morning appointments are better, while staff was friendly-they were too busy for a personalized experience, took about 5 hours to groom my husky, kennels are small, I initially felt reassured of her long stay since they advertise "fresh water, potty breaks, & treats included" on their site-that's apparently not the case as I was told by the owner that they usually don't take them out for potty breaks, unless they've been there for over 6 hours, I don't think water was readily available b/c my pup was panting super hard & drank a lot of water in the car. Wouldn't have bothered to leave a review had I not looked at my pup's paws post groom at home & was horrified, I didn't think I would've had to tell them not to shave her & if anything just a trim down to pad length at the most, but they shaved too close & over shaved causing redness on all 4 paws, had to reach out to her vet, now she'll have to endure epsom salt soaks, hoping that's all she'll need. Also "photos" are supposed to be included, expected a cute photo like they post w/a backdrop, but sadly didnt get that takeaway, got one picture of her on the table, stressed out. (Full lengthy details below) Unfortunately not a good experience, tried it out for first grooming experience due to all of the positive reviews, recommendations, & the level of care/customization they preach on their site. B/c it was going to be her first professional groom, I initially reached out after making my appointment to make sure it was going to be a "zoom groom" as indicated in the comments when requesting the appointment, since I know my pup & she would get anxious being there for so long, but it wasn't recommended for first time since they said a rushed job would be more stressful. I trusted their expertise since they said they get a lot of huskies. About an hour to my appointment time, I get a text asking if I would still like the zoom groom & to push my drop off time until later in the day if so: That should've been my first red flag indicator, they were too busy & it wasn't going to be a good attentive experience. Upon drop off at 1, I was asked to complete paperwork that I had already completed ahead of time on their site. Kennels were all full, coincidentally a dog was being picked up at the same time & my pup was put straight into the kennel that dog came out of. Didnt see any cleaning/sanitization of the kennel between dogs. Included in every visit is a pre-groom evaluation, which I had expected at drop off for someone to go over their process & to ask me any questions about specifics/preferences. But that didn't happen, not reassuring especially for a first timer, they just took her put her in a kennel & asked if I had any questions. The kennel is not size appropriate for larger dogs, was told the time spent in kennel is minimal, so it wasn't too concerning, but their clientele seems to be more geared towards smaller dogs. Like some other reviews, they seem to overbook, & this was on a Wed, took ~5hr to get my pup back. I had expected a 2-3hr turnaround frame as initially informed of how long they generally take. Checked on the status about 2 hr later, & was told about another 2hr. 5:00 passed, still no notification that she was done so I had walked over to the store, only to be told she still wasn't done, she's still drying, & to give them another 15 min. If all she needed was to be dried, I asked for her back, as she's already been there for over 4hr & they did not give her a potty break (they said they usually don't unless the dog's been there for over 6hr). But they didn't want to release her to me as an unfinished product. I let them continue since upon my additional inquiries, they also still had to do her nails on one more paw (her sensitive paw). They gave me change to feed the meter. I checked back 20 min later & she still wasn't ready. They said she did great, but I know my pup, while she may have been on her best behavior, she came out more anxious & wanting to go home than she did at the vet post spay; definitely stressed out. Horrified; they shaved off her paw pad fur. There's raw redness on all paws, concerned it might be razor burn/developing rash, contacted her vet & it may be clipper burn sensitivity. While they say they get a lot of huskies, they don't seem to know the breed. Maybe some have a preference to have their paw pads shaved, but definitely not for my pup, as she's very active outdoors & needs that fur as added protection, had too much trust in their expertise. They advertise 2-3 baths customized to your pet, but that is way too much for a husky, I don't know how many they gave her, since communication was practically nonexistent, but her natural oils was definitely over stripped & her fur isn't as soft as pre-groom. They also made my pup more anxious and sensitive with being picked up/carried & her paws being touched/held. Tried to treat my pup a "spa day," but unfortunately left with a bad experience. read more

I have been meaning to write a review for Live Love Pet for awhile. The owner, Krystal, has been EXTREMELY accommodating, compassionate, patient and reassuring with my senior pup, Spunky Jones. He is a 15 year old maltese-poodle with some unique needs. He's blind in one eye due to an injury a few years ago. He can see out of the other eye, but has some small cataracts. He has arthritis. He's also hard of hearing. I noticed this a few months ago, likely because I was home way more than usual. He has also started to show signs of aging lately. Hes still very active despite arthritis. I take him swimming regularly to help keep his joints moving. He has had some issues with separation anxiety though and I think thats due to both pandemic life and seniority. However, I am so thankful I found Krystal and her crew at Live Love Pet because they truly care about my little guy and take extra time with him to be mindful of his sensitive spots and blind eye. I appreciate them so much and it gives me peace of mind when I come to pick him up and he is just comfortably lying in the crate. I know he has many more years with us and am grateful to have found the perfect groomer for him as he will continue to need grooms for the rest of his life:) I highly recommend Live Love Pet. As I write my 400th review.........this one is a very special one for me, as it involves my furry son Makana. As I was going to lunch the other day with my coworkers - (Duk Kee Chinese restaurant), I just so happened to pass by a little pet salon called - "Live Love Pet!" What really caught my eye was this cute little doggie getting his grooming on, at this salon. After I had finished up my lunch at Duk Kee Chinese restaurant, and was heading back to the Kaimuki municipal parking lot, I decided to pop on in to see if I could get an appointment for my furry son. Sure enough, the friendly girl at the desk was able to squeeze me in for a Monday afternoon appointment at 1 PM. Yay! I must say, this salon is really on top of it! They will send you a text to remind you of your upcoming appointment. I brought Makana in just before 1 PM, and he was done by 4:45 PM. Everything was taken care of........he was given a bath, nails cut, hair cut, & butt squeezed. His fur was sooooooooo soft! It was soft as a baby's butt! Sorry to be a beaming father, but I can't help to say how handsome he is! Makana is just a lovable doggie! He loves all other doggies, as well a people, but most of all............he loves me! :D The great thing about this salon is that it is locally owned, not too far from my house, and the prices for the services they provide is very reasonable.......they are even cheaper than Petco (the regular place I've been taking Makana). The staff was very friendly, and I am so happy about the way they cut Makana's hair! Sooooooooo handsome! I dropped off the dog at 12:45pm and picked her up at 7pm. She kept shaking non-stop her head and by now she has a full blown ear infection and the vet's office is closed until tomorrow! Making an appointment was easy! They have an online booking service and they are located in that 12th Avenue complex where via gelato, happy days, 12th ave grill, Angelo pietro, and the Paul Mitchell school is. I dropped Shadow off during her scheduled appointment time and they took her to the doggy waiting area until it was her turn. I filled out paperwork and the owner, Krystal, told me what her grooming service would include and that shadow would be done in about 3-4 hours. For what I paid and everything Shadow had done, totally worth it! She was deshedded and got 2 baths, nails trimmed, blueberry facial, blow dry, and ears cleaned. They got enough hair off to make another Shadow! Her coat is still sooo soft and shiny. I would totally recommend taking your fur baby here. Our cat has been groomed here for many years but we have to say this past grooming with Isaque was the best yet! She has a big fear of dogs and normally returns home exhausted and stressed but this time she came home so calm. I believe it is due to Isaque's demeanor. The cut itself was amazing and she was so thankful for her cut when we returned home. We all love the cut as well since it makes us all laugh but he really did a great job with it too. Very disappointed and will never return. Went to get my dog groomed as a puppy to start her young to get used to being groomed. They had told me it will take no longer than 4 hours for them to finish grooming my dog. As the 4 hour mark starts to approach I call and no one is answering. As it not becomes 6+ hours and I don't hear anything I make my way to the store to find my poor dog caged up. Very unprofessional and terrible to see my little puppy locked up and no one answering. I could tell my dog was so scared and upset when I got there and she was clawing my legs and peed when she saw me. She also came home and drank a ton of water telling me she had no water while she was caged. We were a little worried because other places have totally messed up his coat. However, when we dropped him off we felt very comfortable and they asked exact questions about what we wanted.
