They did, however, get me to spend $2,000 for an "amazing" opportunity to advertise on the US Weekly website (I mistakenly read it as I'd get 5 digital spots for $2,000, but it was 5 different spots on ONE ad - which is wild, a webpage that brings in $10,000 is crazy when you can get in print for that, but I digress). The final "article" was a joke, with other advertisements in between our copy and our image, making the whole thing useless for anything besides a very expensive backlink. And then the backlink even got removed to our site for months, took multiple emails to fix! They are a joke, and could never get the ads on top of our ad removed.

I think his company is actually him, his bedroom and a computer. While using google to search for a website consultant for my start up company, I thought I was so lucky to have the exact search terms I was looking for pop up right in front of me; "Wix Aid". I've spent a year trying to create my own Wix website and finally in frustration, I decided that I just can't do it all and I need help, especially when I should be focusing on my product, something I can actually do. You have to trust someone, and after a long phone conversation, and hearing all the things I wanted to hear, like how quick and easy it would be since I had done much of the leg work, how his expertise in online marketing after years and years of experience could help get my products to the top of all searches in no time at all, and of course I will get a very special low low price since he wouldn't have to start from scratch, I said yes, perfect, thank you so much for this special low price. I paid him immediately through Paypal, and pretty much that's the last time I heard from him. After my many many texts, phone calls and emails, asking if there was something I could look at, any progress, any input he needed from me, then getting a little more frantic, asking him for a deadline, giving him a deadline, asking for just the basics and I could forge ahead with it myself, he finally called me. This would be our first working call and I thought this should wrap it up with both of us on the line together. I opened up my Wix app to find that he had in fact done something. He made a working copy of the site that I had built, changed my logo and picture and replaced it with three works in big white letters running across the home page on top of a blurry picture. I could feel my blood boiling as a month had passed and it looked like he did this in about 5 minutes before our phone call (Wix time and date stamps all activity). In an effort to calm me down, he kept me on the phone for an hour and a half trying to befriend me and talking about what he had learned about me from looking at my Facebook feed, including my deceased sister. I could not get him back on track onto the website or marketing or my product, as he proceeded to tell me all about his life, and I mean all. I guess he could tell I was the kind of person who wouldn't say OK, but now back to business. Of course this is what I should have done. But that was in fact the last contact with him. He did absolutely nothing, he took my money, and even had the nerve when I told him to finish this immediately, to tell me that I must be polite and professional to him. Anyway, rather than just a rant, this is a review of Shawn Warner's business services he extended to me in case anyone ever finds the need to hire a web designer or marketing consultant without meeting them or getting a referral from a trusted friend or associate AND never pay anyone up front and in full for anything. There are all kinds of scammers out there, this one just uses a real phone number and website. Lesson learned. A bad way to make a living I think.
