it is the worst clearance company ever existed! I have been working with them forcustoms clearance for the past 10 years and, exept from lacolle office, we always received a really bad service! They NEVER clear in time, they really often do mistake on their clearances, customer services is bad (they always lying to you in order to call back 45mins later) I don't recommand to anybody and I personally ask to every client I have to flush livingston and change their customs broker. read more

The worst excuse for a broker ever. A simple, everyday shipment from a regular customer... Over 36 after paperwork submitted, still no activity to process the paperwork?! Finally, after many phone calls, "okay, paperwork is processed, ready to send to customs"... over 5 hours later, still "ready to send to customs", but nothing happening?! Paperwork is "good" according to Livingston reps, but now in "administrative hold" indefinitely. And they call themselves a CUSTOMS BROKER???? This is beyond ridiculous. They should be forced to SHUT DOWN and reimburse the people waiting for them to do their job! I will gladly join a class-action lawsuit against this pathetic excuse for a business. Why doesn't someone look into this horrible customer service at exorbitant prices? They leave trucks and shipments in limbo without recourse! This company is completely unreliable! A customs broker should be able to process a customs entry in a couple hours max, it took them 30 hours to clear one single shipment - COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!!! Once upon a time they were a good reliable company, but seems they've gotten too big for their own good and can't handle the work load. Or they're just lazy. One or the other. Save yourself the grief, hire another customs broker who actually wants your business, and cares about peoples time! This message is in regards to Gillian Chang, who is the Regional Manager of Ocean Imports. She needs to improve her customer service skills. I was provided with an outdated contact for a specific customs broker at Livingston. Gillian received it instead. Instead of providing an alternate contact, she took the time to berate me and shriek about how I reached the wrong department - as if I should have known how HER job works. People like her are the reason others hate working in corporate. POS like Gillian can work only in departmentalized situations. It's a good thing my other Canadian customers don't use Livingston, I never want to hear her shrieks again. read more

My start up company used Livingston for about 18 months for our weekly shipments out of the US. Livingston has horrible customer service. Eventually, we had enough and started shopping around. Found a great importer/export near Calgary (Ramsay Logistics). The customer service is outstanding and pricing is better. Our last interaction with Livingston was a shipment from the UK to Canada. We used Livingston for both the freight and customs (all inclusive). I thought using one company would save time and money. It took them 5 months to get these containers to us that should have taken 5-6 weeks! They had us prepay for the shipping. That's fine but here we are 7 months later and they are trying to double the cost of the shipment and get one last payment out of us for an extra $12k! Had they done their job in a timely manner, maybe the cost wouldn't have been so high. DO NOT USE LIVINGSTON! read more

Gave us a quote for ocean freight we confirmed. 10 days later emailed us "Unfortunately, we will need to revise the quote once again due to space constraint. Kindly note that the revised rate is the premium rate and still subject to space confirmation. Once confirmed by the carrier, they will not accept any cancellation And we will still be billed the freight charge." an extra $2000 USD more then the quote we received only 10 days prior which we confirmed 10 days prior.... 1 star only because i have to give 1. This is one of the worst customs broker in the business. As a carrier I find that unless the paperwork is in pristine condition and all the I's are dotted and T's crossed everything goes to hell in a hand basket. Try to get any information from the call center about an issue is worse than talking to a wall. At least with a wall the answers given are constructive, with livingston you are lucky if in their script they give any assurances. I can not believe that this company is still around. Especially since the Covid Pandemic started this company has gotten even worse, as all the "TEAM" members are now working from home and the service is extremely slow. I am sure 1000 monkeys typing on a 1000 typewriters would be able to actually clear a load faster and would be able to provide better communication and answers then Livingston. Anyone in the call center, be it the person answering the phone or the so called supervisors can not give a straight answer or even an answer with any substance. If you are able to actually talk to someone at Livingston outside of the call center you can hear the frustration in their voices when are you telling them what the issue is with their own company. Prior to the call center Livingston still was not the best brokerage but at least you could get answers and be able to effectively work on getting loads cleared. They could care less if you send the paperwork in way early, they could care less if the driver is sitting at the border for any length of time. There is no sense of urgency. read more

DO NOT TRUST !!! Jocelyn in the Toronto office was unprofessional and difficult to even get information from . She never once informed us of when the car was leaving or had any info on tracking when we asked or that it may take up to two weeks and only replied when clearly she felt like it . On their contract it mentions 8 days max and I explained to her that we cannot afford to rent a car past that and if it will be more than that we will find another company or way to transport our car ! But of course she said whatever would get her the 900 + dollars for her company and now we are being told it's not arriving for another week. Absolutely horrible company which is leaving is completely at their control!! I want compensation back and have been pretty much laughed at when I call to speak to a supervisor . We are already scrimping by financially bc of covid not to mention we have a new born and now we are being harshly shown we should've chose a better company and now our 945 dollars and still no car .
