The Practice is light and airy and as soon as you walk in you are greeted by a nice friendly welcome smile by the reception team! Also which is good about this practice is that they open from 9.00am-7.00pm which is so good for people that work late or just needs someone to look after the kids for you while you go. I had doctor Maria Marquerie who is just lovely. She is so jolly and bubbly and just makes you feel at ease straight away. I no I've made the right decision to leave james hull dental surgery who were absolute twats. I defiantly will be recommending them to other people. Oh another thing is they accept NHS and private patients!!!

The one condition had to be they were prepared to put me to sleep to have any treatment including check-ups. What a lucky break I have been going faithfully to see Nicola for the last 15 years and have never missed an appointment. The surgery staff are very helpful and there is an air of calm everywhere. When I finally had my abcess done Nicola said I would drift off and wouldn't remember a thing. As I was going under I was worried as nothing seemed to be happening. I tugged her arm and said "Cardiff City won the FA Cup in 1927 I'm still here..." then thankfully woke up to an abcess free life. I think I fell in love with her then... I started going to the surgery when it was still at it's City Road address. The move to West Grove a few years ago has been a positive one from my point of view. The only negative point is that we have had to move reluctantly from an NHS dentist to a private practice. I think Nicola held it off as long as possible before giving in to harsh financial reality. I get a lot of information from the surgery and organise my visits by email which is great for me.

Obviously, I was quite worried so really wanted an appointment straight away in case it was anything serious (I didn't want to leave it too long). Gave Cwmbran Dental Care a call to organise an appointment and they had something available for me not 3 days later. ~ Receptionist: I dealt with Judith over the phone and she was an absolute star. Was very understanding with how worried I was and calmed my nerves. ~ Dentist: My dentist was Ruth and she was the best dentist I've ever dealt with. She was both friendly and no-nonsense, dealing with my lump straight away. Nearly cried with joy when she told me that it was non-cancerous (was muscle fibers). I have a strong gag reflex so it's difficult for me to do x-rays. I let Ruth know this and she was very understanding. The last dentist I went to kept getting annoyed with me when I gagged, even though it was something I obviously couldn't help. On the other hand, Ruth gave me tips on how to breathe properly to try and not gag and she was very encouraging! Another positive was that she was very thorough with her explanations of everything (which muscle my lump is, etc.) For £30 as a new patient including 2 x-rays, the price isn't bad either. Highly worth it for me, to give myself peace of mind as well! I'd recommend Cwmbran Dental Care to anyone!

Had two fillings of which both had issues and had to have further work and even that never resolved…read moreanything, apart from wasting my money on poor work they did! and surprise surprise they never accept any responsibility and are flat out rude. My new dentist has since discovered the root treatment they also did on me was so poorly done it was as good as useless and needs to be redone at a cost of £600+. I don't know how they get away with this kind of service as the poor work they do always leaves its evidence behind so when you find a competent dentist all will be revealed. Don't bother with these jokers it will cost you hundreds or possibly thousands ££££ I now go to "Devon Place 7 Day Dental" who have since had to fix all of their shoddy work putting me out of pocket.

A fantastic practice…read more.. EWA especially for implants. Ewa is phenomenal, with an infectious enthusiasm and dedication at a level that you rarely see in any profession nowadays. She diagnosed problems, and saved me from untold discomfort and pain in the coming years. Ewa has given me several implants, all but one resulted in some discomfort but ZERO pain for the rest of the day. The next day I was not even aware I had an implant. Only one implant resulted in only low level pain that day, and small discomfort the following day. I am NOT a fast healer nowadays, I am 67, so I put it down to the skill of Ewa that so little disturbance to the tissue was the reason for the lack of pain and speed of healing. If you are considering implants, I cannot imagine how you could do better than Ewa. She explains everything and uses the very latest technology to aid her. JITEN her boss, is also an outstanding dentist. Similarly dedicated. If you get on his list you will be very lucky too. I remember having injections on several occasions from him. Most often not even feeling the needle or anasthetic go in, which was weird and a first for me. The Hygenists are good too. Jiten knows how to recruit.
