We were taken to an office and must have spent about 45 mintes to an hour opening an account. We were not rushed at all and the advisor who served us was very friendly and chatty. I have had accounts at Nationwide for longer than I care to remember and have always been impressed with their service. The branch staff are friendly and helpful and, if I have ever had a problem (very rarely, I might add) it has been dealt with quickly and efficiently.

They will also usually direct you to, and help with, using the automated deposit machine. There are also some offices. We visitted to arrange to open a current account for my wife. We were taken to an office where the member of staff filled out all the forms - just asking us the questions. Unlike Barclays these were basinc financial questions - they did not appear to be trying to sell us any other products such as house insurance. Whenever I have been in the queues have been minimal. As this is in North End it's convenient if you are walking but not really if you are driving.
