He laid out all of the options - with explanations, and did not make me feel pressured in making my choice. I feel they were honest, and were not trying to make the most money out of the job, but rather wanted me as the customer to be happy with the overall experience. When I chose the least expensive option, they still treated me like a valued customer. They completed the job on time, and within budget. I don't usually write reviews, but I feel their customer service and quality of work was so exceptional, I wanted to make sure to let others know about them. I will absolutely use them again if needed, in fact I won't go anywhere else now, and will refer all my family and friends to them as well. Finding a company that still operates honestly and with sincere customer service in todays world is very difficult. Wilf's is a GEM!!!

The work was performed under an extended warranty, yet they damaged parts and expected me to find and purchase replacements out of pocket to fix their mistakes. I drove under 1000km during the 7 months it was in and out of the shop, finally giving up after coming back the 10th time and taking the car home with a visible transmission pan leak that they had continuously failed to correct. After two years of barely driving the vehicle, the transmission again showed symptoms of failure, with another shop's trans specialist finding several bolts in the transmission (forward band servo cover and the valve body bolts) that were only hand tightened and eventually backed out, causing total failure and loss of all drive gears. If you care about your vehicle and want honest trustworthy work done, I could not possibly recommend this shop at all. Their negligence ended up costing me thousands to rebuild it again. Extremely disappointing from a shop that touts customer satisfaction and an outstanding reputation

I noticed when I picked the truck up that the water and fuel light was on and I thought that was a strange coincidence. Over the years this light has come on two or three times after a car wash, and it's an easy fix to clean out the water in the sensor connection. I did that and even replaced the sensor in the rear fuel water separator. The light was still on, even though the fuel looked clean, so I ended up taking it to a shop in Oak Harbor before driving to the Tetons, as that light was bothering me. It turns out the technician at Barrett had inadvertently pinched some wires that ran along the crossmember below the transmission mount when he reattached the cross number. Thus the cause of the water and fuel light. Barrett was extremely honorable and covered the cost of those wire repairs, and the shops diagnostic fee. So the only thing I was out was the cost of a water and fuel sensor and time. At the time of this post, the truck has nearly 832,000 miles as I just did a trip to Teton Valley and back to Washington and the transmission ran beautifully. The service work the technician did was otherwise perfect and this type of mistake could happen to anyone, so I do not fault Barrett and I would gladly use them again and intend to. The fact that they honored this situation without question is an indication of a shop that has integrity.

I came in…read morewith the recommendation of several of my ASE mechanic friends from different local repair shops as I had red fluid pouring out between my tranny and motor. Mark assured me that they'll take an assessment of the issue and get back to me before doing any work. Later in the day I received a phone call from Mark. He shared with me the red fluid was not tranny fluid, however, the specialized coolant my duramax requires. He went on to describe that all fluid levels were appropriate and the tranny and transfer case were in fine shape. Despite feeling a bit embarrassed about not differentiating the difference between the tranny vs coolant fluids, I was extremely grateful that they did not take advantage of me and, instead, went on to show me where the issued was. Such honesty goes a long way these days. Based upon numerous recommendations from mechanics I trust and respect, and Barrett transmission's honesty (and the time they took to further investigate and show me the issue)., I'll be back with any transmission issues or maintenance needs that I might have. Thank you Mark and Cameron (the tech) for your professional and honest assistance. Charlie D, Ferndale

It was one of the recommended outfit to install snow tires I bought from the Web. I have since taken my car there for service twice. Once for a leaking tire and once for transmission maintenance. Entrance of this shop is at a back alley of No. Road, and the first impression is not at all impressive. One is likely to witness a wide variety of cars, from current models, to old classics, to one of a kind vehicle, under different stages of repairs as one winds his/her way into the office. It has no shinning floor and parts are scattered around. "Ordered messiness" might be an appropriate way to describe the shop. It sort of reminds me of the cluttered desk of one of the smartest professor I had at Stanford. But under this deceiving appearance, the shop is run by a crew of true professionals with good discipline, great service and unbeatable prices. It costed me $50 to repair a nail in my tire. A transmission service with full fluid change was $160, PARTS AND LABOUR included! It would have costed me more just to have the car examined at the dealership. On top of that, it opens until 9 pm! Which garage does that nowadays! I am a professional engineer with more than 30+ years of project experiences in aerospace.
