This place is great! Coffee is fantastic; drink mine black so definitely look for good quality and this place has it! They have awesome staff that is always smiling and ready to help:) highly recommend for a cozy drink on snowy days but also chill in the warm months with cool drink! Vail location is awesome and just down the way the Avon location is super fun with outdoor seating, pool tables, and late night stuff; karaoke or dj on weekend!!! This is a cool little place. Though I am not sure they are ready for more than a couple of customers at a time. We waited a total of 35 mins for a coffee, smoothie, burrito and bagel. Staff was nice but not capable of handling the handful of customers that were there. Coffee was great, food was good, just a weird experience where they kept forgetting parts of our order. read more

Stumbled upon this place while driving from Glenwood Springs to Vail and searching internet for Lamb burgers. Loaded Joes is definitely more than a coffee shop...totally enjoyed dinner with friends. The lamb burger and sweet potato fries were scrumptious; prices very reasonable; atmosphere relaxed and comfortable; staff personable and pleasant. The chipotle sauce was delectable! This is your average sandwich and coffee joint. I had a phat burrito, which was good. We also had some egg sandwiches. The food was fresh. The coffee is very good. The only issue I see is that the staff seems a bit disjointed. They lost my order and we waited a bit. I would chalk that up as an isolated incident, but there was a lady that was five ahead of us and they neglected to make her iced coffee. So, it's worth a try, but once was enough for me for food. Nice cafe if you are just going to stop in and grab some coffees to go. There was not really a place to sit inside the coffee shop unless you wanted to sit at a bar facing a wall. Kind of a divey/ski bum atmosphere in the heart of Vail, the prices are reasonable and the coffee is delish. I got the Milky Way and although it didn't exactly channel the candy bar, I'm glad I got it. My personal ethics dictate that I patronize independent coffee shops. I am, however, pretty picky about espresso. I drink mine straight, no sugar so if it's not good it's pretty obvious. Unfortunately, the pull I got from Loaded Joe was overextracted evidenced by a dark crema and bitter taste (i know, all coffee is bitter but there's a difference between bitter and bitter). My lady friend enjoyed her cappuccino; good froth, etc. Milk can cover over a multitude of sins. I would still buy my coffee here instead of Starbucks if I'm nearby but not because of the coffee. read more

Cool spot easy to find, next to the rushing rapids full of ambitious kayakies and rafters alike. Super friendly staff, good music and surprisingly fair priced for Vail. Ordered the Spanish coffee, wifey went the vanilla latte. Needed a midday boost, and we were pleasantly surprised by the artistic merit of the frothy top. Mine tasted cinnamony upfront, chocolate on the backside. Just like the sign promised. Shannon sipped and commented immediately, 'strong.' Tucked away coffee spot. That it's slightly hidden makes it even better. They have very good Ham & Cheese Croissants. As soon as you walk across the Covered Bridge in Vail Village you'll see steps leading down to your right. Immediately at the bottom turn left and follow a short walkway, the door is to your right. Snowing? No problem, Vail's streets and sidewalks in the Village are heated and the stairs have a solid rail. The hot cocoa is good too. read more

Best pizza in the Valley! The two guys working when I came in to order some takeout were super friendly and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. I've had pizza up and down this valley and always been disappointed, but no more - Loaded Joe's is my new go-to Vail pizza. Only knew of the Starbucks in town, but they close early at 4pm daily. Looked for the next closest place other than the cafe/market down the pedestrian street because they were too busy. Head down the stairs near the covered bridge and the place is a bit dingy. It's a bar/coffee shop. But they had a few good choices like the Nutty Irishman and Spanish chocolate. I was surprised at how good the turkey club and latte were. LJ's is located right near the iconic covered walking bridge, right as you enter the village; also, being below road grade, it's in a little nook of a spot so I guess I wasn't expecting anything special in terms of their menu. Overall, it's a small establishment and while I had ordered my meal to go I was really happy with my freshly made and tasty sandwich and beverage! Good coffee that would rate as 4 stars since it's independent ... Lower rating due to disgusting and tiny bathroom, and the entire place is down a set of stairs, a hole in the wall for sure. loaded joe's has so many things going for it: the prices, the staff, the location, & the exceptional quality in everything they do! joe's must be the only reasonably priced bar/cafe in the bourgeois utopia that is vail, not to mention their happy hour & holiday specials (which are no joke) & their infamous shot society. while i love the rock bottom prices, the week that i spent in vail was truly made special by joe's staff. whenever i walked into joe's, i felt like i was home! they remembered me by name & were friendly & chatty & prompt & attentive & skilled -- i don't know how they put together this sort of team in the mountains, but gosh dang have they done an excellent job! joe's is the gateway to vail: heading on mountain? stop for a beer & a shot! heading off mountain? stop for a beer & a shot! heading to dinner? stop for a beer & a shot! anytime you walk across the covered bridge, it should be preceded or followed by a beer & a shot. or, if you're not as much of an alco as i am, get yourself the BEST coffee in vail at joe's, along with a sandwich & a cookie for the kids! i'd like to particularly send a shout out to cas (the most generous, sweet & hard-working woman i've met), bianca (everyone's favorite female dog), steve (hands down no contest the #1 bartender & barista in vail), gus, mary catherine, kayla, & the rest of the team! thank you guys so much! hopefully i'll see you over the summer! read more
