Let me paint you a picture. My friends were on a 16 hour road trip from Denver to Texas and due to…read morea road closure, we passed through Lamar, CO. With the chicken I had for lunch wreaking havoc on my intestines, we made a stop at the Pit Stop. There were two tiny restrooms adjacent to each other--one for men and one for ladies. Trust me, the proximity of the restrooms to each other will become very important soon. The first thing I noticed was the stench, which was potent enough to kill a buzzard from 200 feet. But we've all been in gas station bathrooms. A particularly lurid stench is not adequate reason to write a bad review. What happened next, however, has shaken me to my core and made me question everything I previously held to be true. Immediately after I defecated, my boyfriend in the men's bathroom adjacent to mine flushed, and my toilet erupted onto my butt like some vengeful demonic bidet. The building's entire septic tank regurgitated onto my bare butt like a mother bird feeding her young. My screams for help were drowned out by the sound of the restroom's plumbing exacting its revenge upon me for some unforgivable sin. As I write this review, I fear that I may never feel safe again, but pray that by sharing my story I may persuade others to avoid the Pit Stop. I only wish that I could find the plumber responsible for this grave miscarriage of justice and write a similarly negative review. The gas prices were decent, though. 2 stars.
