We've been coming here since they opened, literally. We braved the rain storm to come by on Opening Day, since we had been looking forward to it coming when it was first announced. We were previously fans of Local Kitchens (LK) from trying other locations in the past. Over the years since they opened, the menu has changed a bit. There are still some of the original partners, but there has also been some turnover. Square Pie Guys and Boba Guys are two staples that are still available. This has become one of our favorite spots to get pizza in the area. The thick crispy crust is some of the best, and we like the wings too! Other newer options include a Sonoran-inspired menu from Chef Rick Martinez with dishes such as: Chips & Frijoles, a Jalapeño Ranch Wedge Salad, Carne Asada Taco, Chicken and Vegetable Adobada Tacos and Burritos, Rice Plates and Berry Dessert Nachos. The tacos are pretty tasty, and we recently tried the salad -- I have to say it was surprisingly spicy. This from people who order everything spicy, both the wifey and I made comments about the mouth tingles it gave us. The order comes with two pieces; make sure to eat them as soon as possible, as they will get wilted from all the dressing and sauces. There's a middle-eastern style menu from Israeli Chef Einat Admony with dishes like: Black Garlic Cauliflower, Homemade Hummus and falafel, and pita bread. They have a very tasty Amba Chicken that you can get in a Pita wrap, Rice Plate, or Hummus Plate. You can also get the aforementioned options with their Housemade Green Falafel. My wife is a huge fan of the yellow Amba Aioli, and we love to get the cauliflower dish with the black garlic sauce, even if we don't get anything else from that menu. If you're looking for a burger, look no further than their collab with Chef Alvin Cailan. On this menu, you can get the signature SOB Burger (regular, hot, or with bacon), a double ("The Overachieving SOB Burger"), fries, a Molasses Chocolate Chunk Cookie. We really like their burgers, and were even invited to the launch of this menu, where we got to meet Chef Alvin and watch a live demonstration of him making his famous SOB burger! While they no longer have Proposition Chicken by name, they do have a rebranded version featuring Chef Ari Feingold, who is the Executive Chef and Owner of Prop Chicken. The menu is a little different, featuring options like: Fried Chicken Tenders, The Fried (and spicy) Chicken Sandwich, Fried Chicken Salads, and "Prop Spiced Fries". We are big fans of the Prop seasoning. It's really good on the fries, and I love ordering the chicken tenders since they use it on them, and the breading reminds me more of a fish & chip taste, which I love! Each of the places has their own selection of sauces that you can add to the dish, or order extras of on the side. Most of them are $1/each, aside from the Mike's Hot Honey ($1.50) and the Pecan Salsa Macha Norteña ($2). A moment of silence for some of the Opening Day options that are no longer available at the San Bruno location: The Melt, Sushirrito, Nopalito Taqueria, Humphry Slocombe, Milk Bar. The staff has always been very friendly when coming in, greeting us with a smile. The food tends to be ready on the early side of the estimate when placing orders on the LK app. There have been times (including our recent Super Bowl order) where items (mostly sauces) have been missing. We always make sure to do a quick check inside the dining room or in the car before taking off. This most recent time we were missing several sauces, but the guy at the counter was super accommodating and eventually got us everything we paid for. Thanks LK for always churning out reliable quality food -- we look forward to new menus dropping soon, and hopefully more fun launch parties! @bbnem.eats

amazing customer service We had a wonderful experience at Local Kitchen! Everything was excellent. The restaurant was very clean, and the staff provided incredible customer service. We ordered sandwiches and a burger, and everything was absolutely delicious. My favorite was the strawberry lemonade--it was so refreshing and flavorful. We'll definitely be coming back. The staff was constantly cleaning and keeping the restaurant spotless, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

My friend was visiting from Texas and I tried to find a good place near San Francisco International Airport. I remembered their is a Local Kitchens not too far so I took him there. We ordered the com tam / broken rice plate with pork belly and also strawberry tea fresca from Boba Guys. I am a huge fan of Local Kitchens and love checking out the other locations whenever I am in the area. I love how I can always get gourmet, freshly cooked/prepared meals and drinks pretty much all day until 12am! My friend and I loved our lunch! The pork belly was cooked to perfection and all the sides were absolutely delicious! This is my favorite dish at all of the Local Kitchens. It is bright, colorful, flavorful, perfect portion and just hits the spot. And to wash it down, the refreshing strawberry tea fresca with soft chewy tapioca boba. If you are near the airport or just in the San Bruno area and don't want to wait in a long line at In n Out burger, I highly recommend Local Kitchens San Bruno. Lots of parking, friendly staff, clean bathrooms, plenty of other food options on the menu and open late too!

Excellent, quick service and friendly staff! Parking is abundant, this restaurant is at a shopping plaza with plenty of parking. Staff is friendly! I could tell the manager really cares about your experience! I bought a bunch of food and I can tell he was grateful just for that. The rest of the staff was just as nice. I got strawberry matcha milk tea, the carne asada bowl, and the spicy chicken strips. Everything was excellent, they have a huge selection of food and have taken partnerships with surround restaurants to create a phenomenal menu of options from many different cuisines. The restaurant is clean and cozy! They have sofa you can sit and eat/wait at, they tables that are both high and low tables taking everyone's experience in consideration. They also have an outdoor patio that's beautiful, great when the weather warm. All in all I will be returning, you can't go wrong at this place and if you do, they will make it right

The tacos are nicely hot and crispy, though the onions and cabbage slightly overshadow the delicate flavor of the fish. I love their strawberry matcha with boba. The wait for your orderr deoends on when you go. It's usually not long wait anyway. You grab whatever you need like condiments and water at the side of the restaurant. The place is clean with some tables and chairs for any dine in customers. I usually order to go. Two kiosks available for customers to place their orders.

    Broke Chick Tam

Looking at Local Kitchens for a nice bite, I was intrigued by Chef Tue Nguyen's menu with the broken rice. The ordering process on the website was very easy (although the doordash page increases the price of each entree by $2-$3 per, so buyer beware). Easy pick-up, although it took some time before a staffer knew I was at the waiting window. Empty place on a Thursday evening, so a great place for anyone wanting to socialize and where the group has different tastes. The Broke Chick Tam was fantastic and is one of the best things to come out of Local Kitchen besides the Square Guys. Great flavor, and I loved the variety of pickled vegetable offerings. I am ready to go back and get another one.

This is a unique spot for "ghost kitchen". The dining area is clean and well designed. I like the idea of just ordering from various food choices. They had from Mexican to Vietnamese to burgers to sushi to boba and ice coffee. I like the variety. Unfortunately I don't think this place is price friendly. This restaurant is across the street from YouTube HQ and a couple of corporate companies. So I see some customers with their employee badge. The service was great, even though there is no human cashier, you basically order on a kiosk. The employees are checking around into the dining area if we needed anything else and offering above and beyond service. This was on a Tuesday Night! Truly will come back if I want a treat but not so often because of the prices. By the way there is so many customers the board of waiting for your order is full!

HUGE SHOUT OUT TO KELLIE, customer service representative who went above and beyond. So often I write about horrible customer service and food where I and my friend sand coworkers never return because restaurants simply don't care. Kellie reached out to me about my SOB truffle burger. At $15 with no fries and drink it's expensive in these times. The burger tasted like it had been sitting for an hour on a tray. Cold inside, barely warm outside and no truffle flavor. You know how much I enjoy Boba Guys matcha lattes, but with all that ice for $14 for 2 drinks, like what?!? The Vietnamese coffee was quite good and great addition to their menu. Also too much ice, but very tasty not too sweet or bitter. So at like 11am there was no water in their pitcher and the woman behind the counter who I told about the water refilled it but she was very dismissive and at first she didn't understand me so I had to say "agua" with what little Spanish I knew. Also, when I picked up my food she took back my burger and I had to ask for it back LOL. There were only like 4 other orders, so it wasn't busy. Very strange. Anyways 5 stars for Kellie who is amazing. Wish everyone was as amazing as her at LK.

    Geisha's Kiss

Forgot to post this review from a few months ago. I had no idea how decent this spot was. I've seen it so many time whenever I go to my gym, but did not give it a thought. My loss. I had a "sushirrito". I always thought they were weird. As it turns out, it's just a thick sushi roll with some burrito-like ingredients. I had the Geisha's Kiss and it was like being kissed by a Geisha. I was smitten. Everything was very fresh and the house chips gave it a nice little crunch. I love sushi and this place does a nice job. It might be my Go-To order from LK. Okay, time for the pic.

    Fried Chicken Sandwich

Stopped by for a quick bite while in the area and ended up staying a couple of hours to get some work done. It was quiet on a Monday afternoon. The food came out quickly and the kind staff brought it to my table and later came back to take away my tray. I later ordered a drink and the service was still top notch. Boba Guys quality seems to be the same as the standalone stores. And Proposition Chicken sandwich was okay. Nice and crispy but not my preferred fried chicken sandwich.

Local Kitchens is a local bay area ghost kitchen chain! The concept has been novel since the pandemic, and while I like the idea, it's rough when you know the food tastes better from the original source. Also, I think the concept of ghost kitchens should in theory mean better pricing, but it's kind of expensive. Boba Guys serves a basic menu of their popular drinks. Since they're not a boba shop, the boba isn't freshly cycled, so I don't like adding toppings from here. The Thai tea is probably the best to get as it's the strongest flavored, but I'd generally prefer getting drinks elsewhere. At Proposition Chicken, the spicy sandwich was enjoyable and tasted like Popeyes with a good bun, prominent pickles, and tongue spice. The chicken patty was ok - it was meaty, oddly-shaped, and can stand to have more crunch. The fried chicken tenders are ok - they are composed of large pieces of breast meat, and I found the coating to be odd, like fish and chips coating. The prop spiced fries are solid and subtle, and the green goddess dressing is good and herby. From Nopalito Taqueria, the quesabirria dipping tacos were quite cheesy and crisp, almost as if the shell was pure cheese. They came with a lot of raw onions, and were packed with braised birria beef. The consomme and salsa were strong and tasty! Square Pie Guys is included in all of our orders from Local Kitchens. Their pizza is good but expensive. It's worth it to grab Square Pie Guys during the big box deal on Mondays (buy one, get a second for $12.05). The 6x8 is our favorite, as it's a thick cornmeal like crust covered with stretchy cheese and tons of delicious pepperoni (pepperoni in every bite!). The Big Von disappointed me because they could have been more generous with the toppings, the white sauce wasn't too flavorful, and the Mike's hot honey made it too sweet. The cookies from Milk Bar are too sweet and very soft. They're so soft, that it almost tastes like it disintegrates into sugar granules when you eat them. I haven't tried all of their offerings yet, and some cycle out once in a while. Most brands can be seen around the bay, and if not, it's usually interesting offerings from a celebrity chef or something, which brings me to my next point... I received an invite to attend the launch party of Tam Tam Rice from chef Tue Nguyen (@TwayDaBae) at this location and had a fun time meeting Tue and tasting her food! I even won Tue's cookbook and got her autograph. She definitely made me want to head down to her restaurant, Di Di, in West Hollywood. If Local Kitchens made this location a hub for more events like this, I think that'd be really fun and would draw in more customers. While I now live closer to a different location, I've enjoyed this location for their spacious and brighter seating area, ample parking, kind staff, and the delicious self-serve water!

"Tấm Tấm Rice" by TwayDaBae - The Rich Pork Belly Broken Rice Plate | $16 + $2 egg (3 stars)

**** Tấm Tấm Rice Review **** 3.5 STARS Can't get to ĐiĐi in WeHo? Local Kitchens it is! Local Kitchens is a micro food hall that brings SF restaurant brands to the burbs. Been following Chef Tuệ (aka TwayDaBae) since she started posting YT Viet cooking videos prior to the pandemic. Happy to see her blow up as a TikTok chef with her own line of fish sauce, a cookbook, and new resto: ĐiĐi in WeHo. In February 2025, she launched a collab with Local Kitchens so those in the Bay can get a taste of her food. Her concept, Tấm Tấm Rice serves Viet broken rice plates. Placed an online order on Local Kitchens on our way there and was quoted 20-30 minutes. Arrived in 10 minutes and got a text that our order was ready, perfect timing! F O O D * The Broke Chick Tấm: Charbroiled chicken, fragrant broken rice, Vietnamese pork & egg quiche, pickled mustard greens, pickled daikon & carrots, persian cucumbers, tomato salad, scallion oil, crispy onions, cilantro, and sweet fish sauce ($14): https://tinyurl.com/36uxjt3y - Add fried egg ($2) * The Rich Pork Belly Tấm: Braised pork belly, fragrant broken rice, Vietnamese pork & egg quiche, pickled mustard greens, pickled daikon & carrots, persian cucumbers, tomato salad, scallion oil, crispy onions, cilantro, and sweet fish sauce ($16): https://tinyurl.com/ytc2pxxz - Add fried egg ($2) Both cơm tấm were visually appealing with vibrant colors but underwhelming in taste and unbalanced flavors. The best parts: the nutty, broken rice grains, runny egg yolk, and savory chả trứng (pork & egg "quiche" w/ wood ear mushrooms, and cellophane noodles). Between the two proteins, the chicken thigh meat was better but dry and tepid (obvs cooked ahead of time). The pork belly were like thin, soft bacon strips. While warm, it was quite burnt and hella salty with a strong oyster sauce flavor. I like that they included a myriad of veggies and pickled veggies for freshness and acid but the đồ chua (pickled daikon + carrots) was very sour and the pickled mustard greens was very bitter. Not sure if they used Chef Tuệ's own line of fish sauce but the nước chấm tasted like sweet water with no funk. Glad we added a side of sambal ($1) for heat. Overall, in my experience with Local Kitchens, you don't often get the same results as the actual brick and mortar restos because IMO, it's hard for staff to master 8-10 different resto brands and menus. I believe Tấm Tấm Rice is the only place to get broken rice in the Peninsula tho so it's worth a try to see if you have a better experience. Rounding up to 4 stars for the facilities, clean restrooms, complimentary self-serve water, dog-friendly patio, and plentiful free parking!

This place must be hopping for lunch! It's just a great concept: a pick-up counter and a few barebones tables for dine-in at what is primarily a ghost kitchen for various online restaurants. Three of us went for quick, inexpensive, no-frills dinner that was healthier than burgers. We had various Mediterranean salads as entrees after two appetizers for the table. Local Kitchens checked all the boxes for us: healthy options, quick, inexpensive, and dine-in

I placed two separate sandwich orders online through Clover for pickup under my name. I ordered them about 45 minutes before arriving. When I arrived, I showed Maria my receipts and gave her my name. She briefly checked and told me she did not have the orders. The line was long, so I understand things can get hectic, but it did not feel like she was making much of an effort to actually verify the orders. She even misheard my name and was about to hand a sandwich to someone else under a completely different name. At that point, I became concerned that one of my sandwiches might have already been given to another customer. After I continued asking her to check, she somehow found one of my orders in the same area she had already looked. However, only one of the two sandwiches was there. I showed her my Clover receipt again, including the date, timestamp, transaction information, and order details. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, she told me she did not know how to use the Clover system and could only search by name. She then told me I needed to contact Clover myself. I was honestly shocked because she was the manager but said she did not know how to use the restaurant's ordering system. When I explained I could not find a customer support number for Clover and asked what she could do to resolve the missing order, her response was essentially, "I don't know what you want me to do about it." I asked how the restaurant communicates with Clover when there is a problem with the system or how they diagnose issues with the device. Again, she said she didn't know and that the owner was responsible for the Clover system. I asked if I could speak with the owner and requested a contact number. She refused to provide one and told me I could come in early on a weekday if I wanted to speak with them. I'm not from the area, so expecting me to make another trip simply to speak with the owner was not a reasonable solution. What made the situation even worse was that I did not receive a refund for the missing sandwich. I paid for two sandwiches but only received one. Despite showing proof of payment and the order details, there was no attempt to refund the missing item or offer a replacement. Whether the missing sandwich was caused by Clover, a restaurant error, or someone accidentally receiving the wrong order, I would have expected the manager to make a reasonable effort to fix the problem. Instead, I was essentially told it wasn't her problem. Mistakes happen. Technology fails. Orders get misplaced. I understand all of that. What matters is how a business handles the problem afterward. In this case, the customer service was extremely poor, and Maria's attitude made the situation considerably worse. I've also noticed other Yelp reviews mentioning similar customer-service issues, which makes me concerned this isn't an isolated experience. I hope the owner sees this review and takes the time to address what happened. Little Lucca might have good food, but good food doesn't excuse poor customer service or charging a customer for an item they never received. I paid for two sandwiches, received one, was not refunded for the missing sandwich, and was given no reasonable solution. Extremely disappointing experience.

I ordered the Godfather sandwich based on previous photos. I thought it was going to be some kind of a loaded sandwich since it was $20 after tax. When I opened the box, I was a little bit worried that I had ordered the wrong sandwich because it was about the size of my hand. I looked at the photos and I thought ma'am it's kind of looks similar, but maybe I'm just missing something as a scale. But if you look at the layers of the meat, there are actually less layers now than there were 12 and eight months ago. I'm not saying it's a bad sandwich. I'm just saying it's a bad value. The Caesar salad seemed like it was prepackaged in a box. The cheese, kind of taste like refrigerator. And there was no lemon or any kind of anchovy sauce or flavor in the dressing. At the time of writing this review, this restaurant has 4.6 stars shame on me for not reading the recent reviews because I'm not sure I would have ventured here if I did.

Located in a quiet neighborhood in South SF, the deli is unassuming, but loaded with flavorful sandwich combinations. I've tried a couple of their sandwiches on separate occasions and I'm always surprised by the deliciousness and affordability of the food. The service is quick and the staff is always helpful. You can tell the owners take a lot of pride in the food- all the ingredients are fresh and each sandwich tastes intentional- no frozen energy at all.

I was in the area for work, and I needed something quick and easy as I was hopping from one biotech site to the next. This shop was conveniently nearby and free parking wasn't difficult to find (sufficient street parking + nearby neighborhood parking). The menu is pretty straightforward, offering a variety of basic and specialty sandwiches. Most of the basic sandwiches (the one meat options with standard toppings) were less than $10!! I opted for one of those sandwiches, getting the turkey sandwich on dutch crunch. From the cross-section of the sandwich, you can tell this is indeed a hearty sandwich. The quantity of meat they provide for the price is plentiful, and the ingredients making the sandwich all tasted fresh. The service was fast and friendly overall. There's no seating inside or outside, so I ended up eating this in my car. But for this price and quality, I'd do this again any day.

And they've been stacking it with crab salad, mayo, garlic spread and crushed jalapenos since 1970. I'd like to tell you they haul this crab fresh out the bay, but it's actually a blend of crab, fish, and imitation crab. I don't know where they get it, but it hasn't changed in over 50 years, and that's saying something. Not much about this place has changed. Generations of Bay Area kids grew up on this counter. Most of us remember stopping by on the way to a game at candlestick park, or after landing at SFO. Candlestick is gone now, but I still stop by sometimes, usually for the crab sandwich on dutch crunch. It's not the "best sandwich in the bay area". It's not a modern sandwich breaking the mold. It's a classic. A legend. A piece of history, and it's worth going for that reason alone. But they only serve it wednesday through friday.
